Abstract
A review essay on a book by B. Guy Peters, Comparative Politics. Theory and Methods (London: Macmillan, 1998). Peters's book can be used either as a textbook or as opinion in a discussion of the content of comparative politics. Peters is successful in describing the beginnings of comparative politics. One of his main concerns relates to the clarification, for the serious researcher, that there are no easy solutions. Most comparative research entails a succession of trade-offs & difficult choices. The ideal research design according to Peters is to maximize experimental variance, minimize error variance, & control extraneous variance. 8 References. E. Sanchez
