Toward Women's Political Resocialization: Patterns of Predisposition in the Learning of Feminist Attitudes
In: Women & politics, Band 5, Heft 4, S. 11-26
Abstract
Using data from a 3-wave panel study of 45 F participants in a public leadership education program at Rutgers U in 1981, both the impact of earlier socialization patterns on adult attitudes toward feminism, & the impact of participation in the public leadership program on change in those attitudes, are assessed. Feminism indicators of the Michigan Center for Political Studies were used; there were 2 control groups. Findings from a path analysis of socialization contexts & attitudes support a concept of resocialization wherein adult socialization contexts can be seen as the stimuli for a significant enhancement of women's politicization. 2 Tables, 1 Figure.
