Abstract

In a moment that NATO is celebrating its 60th anniversary, that the new American administration is defining its foreign policy agenda, & that the three major European powers have Atlantic approaches, it is particular relevant to make the state of the art of NATO & the European Union relationship in the post-9/11 international security architecture. There are two fundamental reasons that motivate this article: the emergence of new state & non-state actors & the urgency of a new transatlantic paradigm to face the current threats & international challenges.
