La fin d'une amnesie? L'allemagne et son passe colonial depuis 2004
In: La politique africaine, Heft 102, S. 50-66
Abstract
Against the backdrop of the close connection of German nationalism with imagined & real colonial venture & the brief but violent period of actual German colonialism, the article explores the constellation of post-World War II colonial amnesia, which has been modified only in 2004, the centenary of colonial genocide in Namibia. The semi-official apology by the responsible Cabinet Minister at that occasion indicated a certain level of novel publicity for the colonial past, while more recent signs of colonial revisionism in various quarters may foreshadow a round of public controversy.
