Abstract
Identifies factors that helped boost President Clinton's popularity in the midst of a scandal, including the strong economy, his popular positions on public issues, his personal charisma, public dislike of his enemies and skepticism of their motives, and the view that Clinton's affair with Lewinsky was a private matter.
