Discusses intentions and ramifications of US federal government attempts to legislate equal athletic opportunities for college and university women, focusing on use and misuse of Title IX of the 1972 Education Amendments. Argues that intention and interpretation do not match, and that men's teams end up getting cut unnecessarily.
