Abstract

Twenty years after the civil war that has bloodied Algeria in the 1990s, the country has regained a semblance of peace and relative stability. With financial improvement achieved by high petro-gas revenues in recent years, he has recorded undeniable economic and social progress. The many uncertainties in political and economic adjustments that are slow to come, however, revives the frustrations of a society in search of prospects and exacerbates the tensions related to the state of health of the head of state, whose succession is a difficult announcement.
