Market Power, Multinationality and Intra-EU Industry Exports in the 90s
In: Scottish journal of political economy: the journal of the Scottish Economic Society, Band 51, Heft 5, S. 626-640
Abstract
This paper assesses the impact of market power & multinationality in EU12 manufacturing industries on EU integration in goods trade in the 1990s. An increase in the market concentration exhibits a positive impact on bilateral exports, while an increase in multinationality works in the opposite direction. Both effects are in accordance with the theoretical hypotheses. As a result, goods trade between the member countries was polarized in terms of a relative disintegration of southern Europe. 4 Tables, 1 Appendix, 25 References. Adapted from the source document.
