Abstract

This is a study on the ways of capital internationalization, specifically about the role played by transnational companies as one of the main protagonists in charge of this function. The paper plans three main objectives: 1) to examine standards on which transnational companies have been defined; 2) to look over theoretical approaches on which companies' transnationalization processes have been interpreted, particularly those which contribute the most important concepts to analyse the emergence & evolution of transnational companies; & 3) to consider the processes & strategies through big corporations becoming global agents. The paper emphasizes that transnational companies are one of the most important protagonists in the global economy, because of their decisive influence on international systems, which even surpasses that of national states.
