Iranian Workers say; "We have nothing to lose but our unpaid wages"
In: New politics: a journal of socialist thought, Band 12, Heft 4, S. 108-112
Abstract
The article examines the Iranian working class and the effects of the June, 2009 demonstrations regarding the politics surrounding the election. The author discusses the people and events comprising the Reformists and Elections in Iran, the election system, candidates, and the elitism brought forth not only by those in the economic-political sphere, but religious as well. Also, examined by the author are the nature and events behind the protests and opposition, especially those strikes by the working class condemning the current state and policies of not only the government, but also its control on industry. The author states that even though media curbing and suppression, and the abounding of conspiracies; change is affecting and challenging the regime, reaffirming positive change can only happen from below, and from inside Iran.
