On the Opening of the ASEAN Center in Moscow

Abstract

The article describes the opening of the ASEAN Center in Moscow on June 15, 2010, at the Moscow State Institute (University) of International Relations (MGIMO) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. At the opening ceremony MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov emphasized that MGIMO has been training Russian experts on Southeast Asian countries for many years. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov noted that the opening of the Center is in keeping with the general logic of partnership between Russia and the ASEAN organization. K. Cargill
