Meanwhile, breaches of trust between companies and the public are becoming more frequent-and more costly. If you read (or listen to) nothing else on trust, listen to these ten articles. We've combed through hundreds of Harvard Business Review articles and selected the most important ones to help you build, maintain, and repair trust, both as a leader and as a company. This book will inspire you to: develop trust through competence, legitimacy, and impact; understand the neuroscience of trust; follow through on your commitments to stakeholders; negotiate better with an untrustworthy counterpart; see your company through the eyes of your customers; and rebuild relationships after a breakdown of trust.

Community-based action research has received increased attention in health research as an important vehicle for both knowledge creation and community capacity-building. This approach to research is value-driven, attuned to power issues, committed to stakeholder participation, and action-oriented. Efforts to build capacity within the health research community to engage collaboratively with communities in action research projects must be predicated on a framework that delineates the preferred knowledge base/core concepts, skill sets, and the combination of classroom-based, academic learning, and supervised field learning that is required. In this article we propose a praxis framework that integrates the core concepts, core competencies, and training processes for graduate education in community health action research. We review current opportunities for training in this approach in Canada and illustrate how two graduate programs in different disciplines currently operationalize the elements of the proposed framework.

From the mid-20th C., construction and engineering pedagogy and curricula have moved from long-held traditional experiential apprenticeship approaches to one ostensibly decoupling practice and theory. This paper traces this decoupling and explores modernday opportunities and challenges for recoupling university education with industry practice. Within this context the UK Government funds Graduate Level Apprenticeships (GLA) and introduces the Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF), arguably signalling a desire to recouple. Nevertheless, many challenges from following previous UK Government policy prioritising research remain, particularly for post-1992 institutions. Arguably, Higher Education Institutions (HEI's) are at a pedagogical crossroads, considering whether to choose REFville, TEF-ville, and/or Apprentice Township. Do HEI's continue their increasingly decontextualized theoretical approach, or re-embrace construction and engineering education's experiential roots? We present and discuss opportunities and challenges currently facing HEI's, aiming to help inform decisions regarding recoupling theory and practice in construction and engineering teaching and learning, but potentially also other fields.

PURPOSE: Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt (TIPS) procedure is an established procedure carried out by interventional radiologists to achieve portal decompression and to manage the complications of portal hypertension. The aim of this study was to evaluate the quality and readability of information available online for TIPS procedure. METHODS: Websites were identified using the search terms "TIPS procedure", "TIPSS procedure", "transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunt procedure", with the first 25 pages from the three most popular search engines (Google, Bing and Yahoo) being selected for evaluation with a total of 225. Each Website was grouped by authorship into one of five categories: (1) Physician, (2) Academic, (3) For-profit, (4) Non-profit (including government and public health), or (5) Other (discussion/social media). Readability of each Website was assessed using the Flesch-Reading Ease score, Flesch–Kincaid grade level, Gunning-Fog Index, Coleman–Liau and SMOG index. Quality was calculated using the DISCERN instrument, the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) benchmark criteria and the presence of Health on the Net (HON) code certification. RESULTS: After disregarding duplicate and non-accessible Websites a total of 81 were included. The mean DISCERN score assessing the quality of information provided by Websites was "good" (59.3 ± 10.2) with adherence to the JAMA Benchmark being 54.3%. Websites with HON-code certification were statistically significantly higher in terms of DISCERN (p = 0.034) and JAMA scores (p = 0.003) compared to HON-code negative sites. The readability scores of Websites ranged from 10 to 12th grade across calculators. Thirty-two out of the 81 Websites were targeted towards patients (39.5%), 46 towards medical professionals (56.8%) and 3 were aimed at neither (3.7%). A research agenda is needed to meet this challenge. This paper presents a research agenda for the 'green' retrofitting of residential buildings. The agenda is based on the input of 25 national and international experts which was produced by a novel methodology specifically designed to discuss the key questions relating to the retrofitting of residential buildings. This methodology, based on Problem Tree Analysis, proved an effective method of producing an agenda for the research that is needed to facilitate such change. The research needs are presented under six headings. Stages for undertaking the research activities under each of these headings have been identified. The agenda highlights that the challenge of retrofitting is holistic and includes not just engineering and construction actions but economic, social and governmental requirements. Key aspects of the research agenda include the need for better macro-economic and micro-economic models and a better understanding of people's needs and expectations. These topics are discussed together with recent research findings both from China and other countries.
