Bei zu löschenden Containern helfen Informationen zum Weitertransport, einen guten Stellplatz für diesen auszuwählen. Wenn diese Informationen fehlen oder nicht zutreffend geschätzt werden können, kommt es in der Folge immer wieder zu unnötigen Umstapelvorgängen, die zu zeitlichen Verzögerungen und Energieverschwendung führen. In einer Simulationsstudie wird untersucht, wie stark sich die fehlenden und fälschlich angenommenen Informationen auf den Terminalbetrieb auswirken. Hierbei werden die Produktivität der Stapelkrane und die Anzahl der umzustapelnden Container pro auszulagernden Containern betrachtet. Als Simulationsparameter werden die Menge der fehlenden Informationen als auch die Qualität der Schätzung variiert. Die beiden Simulationsparameter werden in jeweils drei Abstufungen unterteilt und in allen neun Kombinationen simuliert. Als Kontrollgruppe diente eine weitere Simulation mit vollständigen und fehlerfreien Daten. Die Ergebnisse der Simulationsstudie zeigen, dass fehlende Daten die Produktivität der Stapelkrane nur geringfügig beeinträchtigen, solange die Qualität der Schätzung hinreichend gut ist. Die Schätzung kann durch den Einsatz KI-gestützter Prognoseansätze verbessert werden. Mit sinkender Prognosegüte fällt die Lagerkranproduktivität; im gewählten Szenario sind dies 2,5%, was auf einen Anstieg der Umstapelvorgänge von 10% zurückzuführen ist.
