Reflecting a change in funding strategies for European research projects, and a commitment to the idea of responsible research and innovation in radiological protection (RP), a collective of research institutes and universities have developed a prospective Strategic Research Agenda (SRA) for Social Sciences and Humanities (SSH) in radiological protection. This is the first time such a research agenda has been proposed. This paper identifies six research lines of interest and concern: (1) Effects of social, psychological and economic aspects on RP behaviour; (2) Holistic approaches to the governance of radiological risks; (3) Responsible research and innovation in RP; (4) Stakeholder engagement and participatory processes in RP research, development, policy and practice; (5) Risk communication; and (6) RP cultures. These topics were developed through broad stakeholder consultation, in conjunction with activities carried out in the framework of various projects and initiatives (EU H2020 CONCERT programme, the EU FP7 projects OPERRA, PREPARE and EAGLE, the 2015-2018 RICOMET series of conferences, and the 2014 and 2016 International Symposia on Ethics of Environmental Health); as well as through dialogues with members of the European radiation protection research communities. The six research lines open opportunities to integrate a range of key social and ethical considerations into RP, thereby expanding research opportunities and programmes and fostering collaborative approaches to research and innovation.

Ghana has emerged as the test case of what structural adjustment can achieve in overcoming economic stagnation and administrative deficiencies. Since Jerry Rawlings implemented IMF/World Bank-recommended reforms, the results in terms of economic growth and institutional development in the short term have been impressive. The long-term impact, however, remains uncertain, making it far from clear whether Ghana can be considered a model for other countries. The authors in this book look at the issues involved in Ghana's current reform program. For example, can meaningful export diversification be achieved? Must structural adjustment programs necessarily involve heavy social costs for the general public? How does such a reform program affect the regime's support base? The purpose of the article: The aim of the article is to define the linguocultural peculiarities of the abbreviations in the political discourse.Materials and methods: The leading approach to the study of this problem is scientific. In the article such general scientific research methods as a descriptive-analytical method; method of continuous sampling and contextual analysis were used.Results of the research: there is relevance to the detailed investigation of the active language processes in modern English electronic media. Abbreviations are the language tools that help create a picture of the day. The newspaper is the first source where new abbreviations are fixed. In the English speaking electronic newspapers in political discourse generally accepted abbreviations are used. In political articles the use of abbreviations is in outline. The materials of the article can be useful for students, Masters, and postgraduates in English study. Data on the "language picture of the world" of the analyzed linguistic and cultural community can be applied in the methodology and teaching practice of foreign languages. Applications: This research can be used for universities, teachers, and students. Novelty/Originality: In this research, the model of Linguocultural Peculiarities of Abbreviations in Political Discourse is presented in a comprehensive and complete manner.

The Indonesian government has adapted the genre-based approach designing curriculum, thus both English teachers and students need to master the genre aspects: the objective or social function of a text, text structure, and language features. This study aimed at describing the rhetorical pattern of Irwandi Yusuf – Nova Iriansyah's posters during the gubernatorial election in 2017. The object of this study was the strategies used to convince the argument or namely rhetorical pattern. The design of this study was descriptive qualitative research. To obtain the data the researchers used document as an instrument in this study. The result of this study revealed that the posters applied ten strategies: form-based strategy, emotion-based strategy, attention management strategy: use of dramatic statement, using repetition in the form of image and slogan, sketch model participation, detailed benefit change, self-efficacy realized via image, offer further information or services strategy: indirect offers, use slogan, refers to a broader picture, refer to the legal status of the campaign. These strategies that were implemented in the candidates' poster was to convince the message relied on the poster to the target readers. Further, the strategies implied have followed some strategy offered by Barron (2012). Therefore, different advertisement, as well as a poster from the different region, have a different pattern in organizing the ideas and in convincing the target readers. In conclusion, by exploring the rhetoric of the local advertisement, it can expand the material of teaching text structure, language feature and social function of the advertisement text from a different region or country due to the genre is socially constructed.
