The paper analyses the changes in the settlement of the town and suburbs of Santa Maria Magdalena -province of Buenos Aires-, in the period 1820-1870, based in maps and other related documents. The graphical representation provides elements about the process of territorial organization and the relationship with political and social situations; moreover the power relations that materialized in specific historical circumstances are also studied. Thus, the social construction of space, supported on ideas about modern territorial order of a State under construction, is related to the particularities of the local context. ; Se presenta el estudio de los cambios en la conformación del pueblo y ejido de Santa María Magdalena -provincia de Buenos Aires-, en el período comprendido entre las décadas 1820-1870, en base a los planos de mensuras y documentos relacionados. This article provides an analysis of the social functions of the balcony in early modern Venice using evidence from architecture, art history, theatre history and the records of two magistracies, one secular, the other ecclesiastical. It argues that the liminal position of balconies between the public and the private both exposed those present on them to the public gaze and potentially as subjects of gossip, and enabled them to see and hear what was going on below. Balconies were used by both women and men, although the latter were more likely to be there outside the working day. Those of high status preferred to appear only on special occasions as spectators of public events. The proximity of balconies to canals also allowed illicit use.

A radical process of standardization of tourist destinations around the globe, particularly in urban contexts, has been described by numerous scholars during the last decades. Indeed, the reinvention of many cities as tourist destinations has made evident 'an odd paradox: whereas the appeal of tourism is the opportunity to see something different, cities that are remade to attract tourists seem more and more alike'. In such a context, both scholars and practitioners point to abstract elements such as images, identities, flairs, and experiences, as the main elements defining destinations' profiles. The American historian Catherine Cocks argued that the attribution of a 'personality' to the city was a key aspect in the transformation of American cities into tourist destinations. Urban personalities made the city easily available, readable and intelligible, transformed it into a salable commodity, and offered a compelling reason to visit it and to come back. Similarly, contemporary European cities can be seen as bearers of specific local urban identities that remain relatively fixed even when information, stereotypes and attributes may prove to be inaccurate or simply false. Wolfgang Kaschuba has in this sense described the production of urban identities as a cultural technique that is predominantly performed in certain societal spaces such as literature, tourism, mass media, pop culture, and history marketing. This article focuses on one of such spaces, tourism, and explores how tourist communication transforms Berlin into a distinct and unique destination. It asks how the city is enacted by tourism as a singular and bounded entity, to which multiple orderings of identity are attributed.

In this paper, I aim to show how medieval political theology and contemporary philosophy of history can inform one another. To do so, I examine the concept of Tabor–a notion which emerges among the radical Hussites, known as the Taborites, during the Hussite revolution in medieval Bohemia. I believe that the politico-theological concept of Tabor puts into question modern philosophies which think of history in terms of time, by clearly showing the insufficiency of a purely temporal approach to historical ideas and experiences. To successfully articulate the Taborite concept, we must understand history as structured not only by time but also by space and ideology. Conversely, a historical study guided by the philosophical categories of ideology, space, and time can expand our understanding of Hussite political theology by revealing notions and experiences which cannot be identified by an exclusively ideological, or solely spatial or temporal, analysis. ; Ten artykuł ma za zadanie ukazać sposób w jaki średniowieczna teologia polityczna i współczesna filozofia historii są w stanie wzajemnie się uzupełniać. W tym celu przedstawiam koncept "Taboru" – pojęcia które wyłoniło się wśród radyklanych husytów, zwanych taborytami, w trakcie rewolucji husyckiej na terenie średniowiecznych Czech i Moraw. Moim zdaniem teologiczno-polityczny koncept Taboru stawia pod znakiem zapytania współczesne filozofie, które traktują historię w pojęciach czasu, poprzez ukazanie niewystarczalności czysto "czasowego" podejścia do historycznych idei i doświadczeń. Aby z powodzeniem nakreślić koncept Taboru, powinniśmy rozumieć historię jako strukturę nie tylko czasową, ale również przestrzenną i ideologiczną. Równocześnie studium historyczne kierujące się filozoficznymi kategoriami ideologii, przestrzeni i czasu pozwala na rozbudowanie naszego rozumienia husyckiej teologii politycznej poprzez uwidocznienie pojęć i doświadczeń, które pozostają niezidentyfikowane czy to w analizach wyłącznie ideologicznych, jedynie przestrzennych lub czysto czasowych.

In this article we wonder why women are invisible in the teaching of history and we develop some assumptions about the reasons for this invisibility. We analyze the place women occupy in the curriculum of social sciences and history of Catalonia to claim their presence in texts and in practices. We exemplify their role in a teaching unit called Gifts of the 36 -Women of the 36- dedicated to recall the role of Republican women during the Spanish Civil War, the Franquism and the transition to democracy. ; En este artículo nos preguntamos por qué las mujeres son invisibles en la enseñanza de la historia y desarrollamos algunos supuestos sobre las razones de esta invisibilidad. Analizamos el lugar que la mujer ocupa en el currículo de ciencias sociales e historia de Cataluña para reivindicar su presencia en los textos y en las prácticas. Ejemplificamos su protagonismo en una unidad didáctica denominada Dones del 36 –Mujeres del 36- dedicada a recordar el papel de las mujeres republicanas durante la Guerra Civil española, el franquismo y la transición a la democracia.
