Purpose Wandering is aimless or repetitive locomotion that may expose persons with dementia to falls, injuries, elopement, and untimely death. Using data from focus groups, this study obtained opinions on the potential effectiveness of existing technologies for managing wandering in persons with dementia living in the community, and on the elements that such technologies should possess from the user's perspective. Design & Methods Cross-disciplinary, consensus-based analysis was applied to data from 6 focus groups consisting of 7 elderly nursing home residents, 7 caregivers of persons with dementia, 9 home healthcare staff, 7 long term care staff, 7 medical surgical staff caring for dementia patients, and 6 engineers working in rehabilitation settings. Each group received a briefing on available technology for wanderer monitoring systems and elopement management systems. Results Participants in all groups wanted flexible systems that would allow for a normal daily life, accommodate to changes over time, and be inexpensive. Inside the home, motion detectors and weight-sensitive mats by doors were preferred over camouflage and other visual deterrents; outside, Global Positioning System based elopement management was preferred. For both technologies, ranges and sensitivities must be programmable and changeable as environmental and human conditions warrant. Policy Implications 60% or more of the 4.5 million Americans with Alzheimer's disease will wander and wandering predicts nursing home entry. The need for effective technologies to manage wandering in home and formal care settings is underscored by the high cost of nursing home care on the caregiver, his or her family, and government healthcare organizations. These technologies promise to delay nursing home entry and improve care but they must perform reliably, simply, effectively and inexpensively.

"Commercial transaction surveys and test market data are important sources for the analysis of consumer behaviour in various markets. The advantage of these surveys is that they do not only rely on "weak" data of consumers but also on "measured" data (eg. sales information, marketing information etc.) The key questions for the analysis of commercial transaction surveys and test market data are the prospective evaluation of market success for launched or relaunched products and services, the influence of marketing and media on product purchases under "real market conditions" and comparison between the test market and the total market. These data are not yet used by the scientific community. There are three major challenges to get access to the data. The owners of the data (market research institutes/"clients") have to allow data access. The data must be anonymized in various ways (individuals/households, brands/products) without losing relevant information. Furthermore it is necessary to develop quality guidelines for commercial transaction surveys and test market data. The new European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) imposes enhanced requirements on digital data collection. This article reports from a 2018 German nationwide population-based probability app study in which participants were asked through a GDPR compliant consent process to share a series of digital trace data, including geolocation, accelerometer data, phone and text messaging logs, app usage, and access to their address books. With about 4,300 invitees and about 650 participants, we demonstrate (1) people were just as willing to share such extensive digital trace data as they were in studies with far more limited requests; (2) despite being provided more decision-related information, participants hardly differentiated between the different data requests made; and (3) once participants gave consent, they did not tend to revoke it. We also show (4) evidence for a widely-held belief that explanations regarding data collection and data usage are often not read carefully, at least not within the app itself, indicating the need for research and user experience improvement to adequately inform and protect participants. We close with suggestions to the field for creating a seal of approval from professional organizations to help the research community promote the safe use of data.

In today's technological developments, social media use is a necessity. Every element of society uses social media in a variety of interests, including in terms of governance. One of the social media that is Twitter. One that is quite active using Twitter, even repeatedly reaping controversy, is the chief staff of the presidency, Jend. Purn. H. Moeldoko. The study wanted to assess the political communication pattern undertaken by the presidential staff chief. This research uses a qualitative method of descriptive using Nvivo 12 plus data processing software. The data collection came from the Twitter account of the presidential chief of Staff, Moeldoko, namely @Dr_Moeldoko. This study found that the communication done by Moeldoko through his Twitter is generally to the media or fellow government agencies. The contact he does is also one way and more in providing information About government programs. In this study, there was also a suspected ineffectiveness of Twitter management based on the decline in Moeldoko activity in his account. From the findings can be concluded that the communication pattern is made by general. Purn. Moeldoko, as chief of the presidential staff, is both vertical and nonparticipatory.

Reliance on data for software systems engineering is increasing, e.g., to train machine learning applications. We foresee increasing costs for data collection and maintenance, leading to the risk of development budgets eaten up by commodity features, thus leaving little resources for differentiation and innovation. We therefore propose Open Collaborative Data (OCD) - a concept analogous to Open Source Software (OSS) - as a means to share data. In contrast to Open Data (OD), which e.g., governmental agencies provide to catalyze innovation, OCD is shared in open collaboration between commercial organizations, similar to OSS. To achieve this, there is a need for technical infrastructure (e.g., tools for version and access control), licence models, and governance models, all of which have to be tailored for data. However, as data may be sensitive for privacy, anonymization and obfuscation of data is also a research challenge. In this paper, we define the concept of Open Collaborative Data, demonstrate it by map data and image recognition examples, and outline a research agenda for OCD in software engineering as a basis for more efficient evolution of software systems.

Despite the considerable growth in Volunteered Geographic Information (VGI) activities in citizen sensing and the evident opportunities for VGI use in map revision and updating, few European National Mapping Agencies (NMAs) or other types of government bodies have engaged significantly with VGI. Moreover, the level of engagement of NMAs with the VGI community varies greatly, and most of them have proposed their own tools for encouraging citizens and public partners to collect feedback or new data. There are numerous barriers limiting the participation of citizens and public partners in NMA data collection, including data quality issues, the motivation of the contributors and legal issues. The aim of this chapter is to give an overview of the experiences of some European NMAs in engaging with VGI. Guidelines and recommendations to support wider engagement with the VGI community are also proposed to help NMAs and interested government bodies exploit the potential of VGI for authoritative mapping.

Citizen science has been motivated by several perspectives, including increased efficiency in data collection and distributed analysis, democratizing knowledge production, making science more responsive to community needs, and improving the representation of marginalized populations in public data. Despite the potential of citizen science to achieve social justice agendas through a data-intensive and data-driven participatory scientific enquiry, scholarship in critical data studies offers several problematizations of data-based practices, highlighting risks of exclusion and inequality. To understand the extent to which citizen science supports and challenges forms of injustice, this study used a "data justice" analytical framework to critically explore the assemblages of citizen science. We examined four citizen science cases with different levels of citizen engagement, intended outcomes, and data systems. The analysis suggests instances of injustice occurring throughout the data processes of the citizen science cases across the dimensions of procedural, instrumental, rights-based, structural, and distributive data justice.
