Cette brochure présente le « Programme d'action de Chennai » dont le but est de renforcer le rôle des ressources phytogénétiques dans l'accomplissement des Objectifs du millénaire pour le développement (OMD), et tout particulièrement la réduction de la faim et de la pauvreté. Le programme d'action décrit dans cette brochure est destiné à aider les gouvernements nationaux et les agences internationales à réaliser l'objectif de réduire de moitié la faim et la pauvreté d'ici 2015. Il met l'accent sur le principe d'accorder une plus grande importance à la biodiversité agricole dans les stratégies de développement nationales et internationales et de créer les conditions politiques nécessaires pour permettre une utilisation durable de cette richesse pour le bénéfice des membres les plus pauvres et les plus marginalisés de notre société. Le programme d'action appelle à une collaboration internationale renforcée au niveau de la conservation et à un partage durable et équitable des bénéfices résultant de l'utilisation de la biodiversité agricole. Il souligne le besoin urgent d'une action appropriée au niveau national afin de satisfaire les OMD.

This booklet presents the 'Chennai Platform for Action' to enhance the contribution of plant genetic resources to meeting the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs), especially to reducing hunger and poverty. The action plan described in this booklet is intended to help national governments and international agencies to achieve the goal of halving hunger and poverty by 2015. It promotes the principles of giving agricultural biodiversity greater importance in national and international development strategies and creating the required enabling policy conditions for the sustainable utilization of this treasure for the benefi t of the poorest and marginalized members of our society. The action plan calls for increased international collaboration in the conservation and sustainable and equitable sharing of the benefi ts arising from the use of agricultural biodiversity. It underlines the urgent need for action in nationally appropriate ways for meeting the MDGs.

Meta-analyses were conducted of previous studies to assess the influence of techniques designed to enhance mail survey response rates, using 184 study outcomes (effects) from 115 articles (studies) for 17 predictors of survey response rate. Across all manipulations, the average effect size was .065, suggesting a 6.5% increase in response rates. For specific predictors, results suggest that preliminary notification, follow-ups, appeals, provision of a return envelope, postage, & monetary incentives significantly increased response rates. Effect sizes for these predictors translated into increases in response rates of 2%-31%. The moderating effects of year of publication & type of sample, as well as implications of the results for the conduct of mail surveys & future research in the area are discussed. 4 Tables, 1 Appendix, 27 References. Comunicació presentada a: Detection and Classification of Acoustic Scenes and Events 2018, celebrat a Surrey, Regne Unit, del 19 al 20 de novembre de 2018. ; This paper describes Task 2 of the DCASE 2018 Challenge, titled "General-purpose audio tagging of Freesound content with AudioSet labels". This task was hosted on the Kaggle platform as "Freesound General-Purpose Audio Tagging Challenge". The goal of the task is to build an audio tagging system that can recognize the category of an audio clip from a subset of 41 diverse categories drawn from the AudioSet Ontology. AbstractBuilding on transparency literature, we theorize that information characteristics such as accessibility of raw data and data source provision influence citizens' trust in public performance information. Next to the question of whether providing a data source matters, we argue that information provision from a non‐government actor can compensate for the information asymmetry between citizens and public sector organizations due to a stronger symmetric data exchange relationship. Integrating and elaborating these theoretical assumptions of principal‐agent theory with bureaucratic reputation theory, the organization's reputation, rather than the stakeholder group the information provider is belonging to, may explain varying trust. We conduct eight online experiments in large‐N data collections in Austria and Germany and find that data accessibility and source provision increase trust in performance information. Whereas citizens have more trust in government‐provided data compared to data provided by other citizens, source reputation matters dominantly for building trust in performance information.

In the agrarian economy, the agro-based units are facing problems in their expansion from the very existence. The problem is not new in India; it has been found that from our independence we are struggling in this path. The processing of agricultural product has become a chaos in the economy. Quality, price, distribution, promotion, finance, health, government policies, managerial inefficiencies, etc. are found a big cause for the same. In this paper the researcher has targeted 200 agricultural processed products dwelling in Mandya. This sample gives a clear cut emphasis on the thrust areas of improvement. In the paper the consumers targeted are representing both rural and urban area. 32% of respondents were of rural sector and 68% were of urban area. All the respondents are approached using one of the survey method of primary data collection, i.e., questionnaire and schedule method. These responses are classified using tables that help in clear vision of the study. This study helps in knowing the reason of poor performance of agro-based units in Mandya. It also suggests certain aspects that help in overcoming these problems.

As illustration of this controversial transformation, it addresses the debates raised in the United States between some members of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Congress, private firms, academic meteorology and international observers between 2006 and 2017 regarding the commercialisation of data obtained from radio occultations using the Global Navigation Satellite System. It looks, in particular, at the arguments, discourses, viewpoints and perspectives of these involved actors. By focusing on one particular site of controversy—policies and practices of data distribution—this case study emphasises a clash of values between conventional norms of meteorology and commercial imperatives driving the private sector with respects to data sharing. The main interest of this article pertains to the broader issue of changing the current model for data gathering, using and sharing in the face of growing commercialisation of weather satellites.
