Women's History has achieved visible presence in the academy and an influence to European Women's Studies. Early feminist scholarship was directly connected with politics. Thirty years later we have to recognize an unbridged gap between social movements and sophisticated scholarship. The article deals with questions resulting from the distance between a master (academy) and a mistress (women's movement). Women's History as a field of historical analysis is more than Contribution History. lt stresses the discussion of methodological and analytical tools. The main points have been gender as a useful category to study the system of gender relations (Joan W. Scott) and a conceptual framework for dealing with differences among women (Gerda Lerner). ; Women's History has achieved visible presence in the academy and an influence to European Women's Studies. In view of the rapid increase in the globalisation of the economy, assuring food safety within the European Union is a challenge. The range and variety of foods on offer in Europe continue to rise steadily. The demands not only on food companies but also on the European Union and its member states grow, that food risks should be scientifically assessed, minimised and communicated in a way that can be easily understood. Private, as well as criminal and public law aspects have to be considered, especially in possible crises. The structures of and responsibilities for the public law tasks of EU institutions and on the level of the Member States and even within the Member States themselves are often not sufficiently well known. This results in confusion and accusations in times of crisis and a duplication of efforts and negative competence conflicts in times of peace and quiet. The "EU Food Safety Almanac" published by the German Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (Bundesinstitut für Risikobewertung, BfR) is intended to help to perceive responsibilities in food safety in a proper manner. It provides an overview of the structures of food and feed safety within the Member States and the European Union. In doing so, it becomes clear how food safety is organised and implemented differently within the scope of the constitutional and administrative law of 35 respective countries.
Economic development has been for many years the dominant national policy objective of the countries in the Third World, but there has been little consensus on the goals and definitions of development. Focusing on the era since World War II, H. W. Arndt traces the history of thought about economic development to show readers, in nontechnical terms, what the development objective has meant to political and economic theorists, policymakers, and politicians from Adam Smith to Ayatollah Khomeini

We compile a new unit‐record data set of Australian corporate bond issuance, which sheds light on developments in the bond market since the early twentieth century. Reflecting the evolution of the economy, privatisations, and changes in the regulatory landscape the following trends are noteworthy: (i) issuance today is largely by private entities whereas government‐owned corporations dominated historically; (ii) the issuer base has shifted away from non‐financial corporations towards banks, with corporations now raising a large share of funds offshore; and (iii) the investor base has shifted away from direct holdings by households towards holdings through superannuation/managed funds and holdings by non‐residents.

This article analyzes the loss of legitimacy that the economic crisis brought upon representative democracy and the consequences that can be drawn for the thesis of the end of History. The thesis we defend here is that the deterioration of the welfare state, as a result, under very specific conditions, of the capitalism in certain parts of the world, runs parallel with the delegative degradation of democracy. Keywords: Democracy; capitalism; politics; history; Fukuyama.
"Bringing together the voices of nine individuals from an archive of over 200 in-depth interviews with transnational migrants and refugees across five European countries, Finding Home in Europe critically engages with how home is experienced by those who move. Subaltern migrants and refugees speak out, conceptually engaging with the political strength of their voices as this volume seeks to combat the notion that these people are 'out of place' or cannot claim their right to belong"--
