Modern world economic development is distinguished by unprecedented economic activity of enterprises, individuals, countries, active functioning of international organizations, which has helped to transform the once disparate geographical regions and sovereign states, built on the national principle, into a coherent system of interrelated and interdependent is largely dependent on the continued growth of international contacts. The technological revolution of the XX-XXI centuries contributed to the formation of a new configuration of the modern world economy, which significantly accelerated and simplified the dissemination of information and initiated the emergence of global virtual spaces, suitable for conducting new forms of economic activity. At the same time, the current world order is called into question, the military-political differences of the countries are aggravated, environmental challenges are constantly reminded, the most prosperous states are experiencing numerous social problems as a result of increasing demographic migration. In such circumstances, it is important for Ukraine to take advantage of both the opportunities and the risks of these global megatrends in order to securely fulfill its geoeconomic interests in the future. The knowledge gained in the discipline "World Economy and International Economic Relations" will help to realize the foreign economic priorities of Ukraine, as well as provide specialists for successful career development in international organizations, multinational companies and establishing their own business in their country and abroad

Technological change and international relations
In: International relations: the journal of the David Davies Memorial Institute of International Studies, Band 33, Heft 2, S. 286-303

This article reflects on the role that technological change has played in the last century on international relations. It makes two main points. First, the relationship is reciprocal; while technological change has undeniable effects on international relations, the changing nature of world politics also affects the pace of technological change. Second, any technological change is also an exercise in economic redistribution and societal disruption. It creates new winners and losers, alters actor preferences, and allows the strategic construction of new norms and organizations. The nature of the technology itself, and the extent to which the public sector drives the innovation, generates differential effects on international relations. To demonstrate these arguments, special emphasis is placed on two important innovations of the last century for international relations: nuclear weapons and the Internet.
