Mestrado em Finanças ; Em todo o mundo, as empresas devem discutir e abordar a sub-representação das mulheres nos conselhos de administração. A pressão legislativa emerge. A proposta da Comissão Europeia para estabelecer uma quota de género no conselho de administração foi recentemente aceite pelo Parlamento Europeu. Esta proposta está no seu caminho através do processo legislativo. De acordo com a proposta, as empresas grandes devem atender às procuras de igualdade de género nos conselhos de administração até 2020. A discussão na Europa também irá impulsionar debates em regiões fora da Europa mais cedo ou mais tarde. Neste contexto é essencial conhecer como a implementação das quotas de género afetará o desempenho empresarial e a evolução económica em geral. O crescimento económico é impulsionado pela inovação, investigação e desenvolvimento de novas tecnologias. Nós estendemos a investigação existente, investigando a relação entre a composição do conselho de administração em termos de diversidade de género e os seus investimentos em pesquisa e desenvolvimento. Atividades de pesquisa e desenvolvimento têm o potencial de estimular desenvolvimento económico. Será que a diversidade de género é relevante para os investimentos em pesquisa e desenvolvimento de uma empresa? Nós temos um grande amostra de empresas com origens da toda a parte do mundo. Encontrámos resultados contraditórios para a influência da diversidade de género nos investimentos de pesquisa e desenvolvimento e encontrámos grandes diferenças no mundo. ; Firms worldwide must discuss and address the under-representation of women in senior positions. Growing regulatory pressure emerges. The European Commission's proposal of a gender quota on the board of directors has been recently accepted through the European Parliament. The proposal is on its way through the legislative process. According to that proposal large firms must meet the demands for gender equality in the boardroom by 2020. The discussion in Europe will also trigger debates in non-European regions sooner or later. In this context it is essential to ascertain how gender quota regulations will affect company's performances and the general economic evolution. Economic growth is driven by innovation, research and development of new technologies. We extend the existing research by investigating the relationship between corporate board composition in terms of gender diversity and its investments in research and development. Research and Development activities have the potential to stimulate economic development. Does gender-diversity in the boardroom matter for a firm's research and development investments'. We have a large sample of companies across nations. This enables us to compare different geographic regions, which is also an extension of existing empirical work. We find mixed results for the influence of gender diversity on research and development investments and find large differences in the world.

Gideon shows that the development of health systems in Latin America was closely linked to men's participation in formal labor. This established an inherent male bias that continues to shape health services today. While economic liberalization has created new jobs that have been taken up mainly by women, these jobs fail to offer the same health entitlements. The article is devoted to determining the role of women in the traditional Ossetian society. A full-fledged study of many urgent problems of science is impossible without taking into account the gender aspects of various branches of social humanitarian knowledge. The subordinate position of a woman in the family was determined by time, dogmatic customs, and traditions indisputable for her. The transformation of gender consciousness in Ossetia was accompanied by changes in the family and gender norms of the society. New research tasks enable to consider the transformation of gender stereotypes in various ethnocultural environments in diachrony, comparing not only differences due to a particular culture, but also the degree of their changeability over time, the significance of social, political and other factors affecting this process.
The historical gender and division of labor is a cultural solution to the problem of combining technology with the vital needs of the society as a self-organizing system. Representatives of the socio-political thought in Ossetia advocated the development of professional female education, girls education was no longer restricted to useful handicrafts, thus providing the expansion of the female sociocultural space. The development of women's educational institutions and their growing popularity were largely the result of the post-reform modernization of the Ossetian society. The real dynamics of social development led to intensive integration and stimulated educational processes, including the expansion of the female school network. An important factor in the development of female education was the attitude of the Ossetian society to it.
In Ossetia the striving for education became a nationwide movement in which all the sectors of the society participated. The values of education, including women's education, became essential part of the public consciousness of the Ossetians. In particular, the article analyzes the contribution of the first Ossetian woman-playwright Rosa Kochisova and the first Ossetian ballerina Aurora Gazdanova to the development of gender transformations in Ossetia in the XIXth and early XXth centuries.
