This research aimed at strategically positioning a masters targeting Operations Managers education, by pursuing a benchmarking exercise within the EdUniversal ranking. The literature review identified different roles and required skills for Industrial Engineers and Operations Managers, while the empirical study justified the choice of the other programs to be compared, confirmed the adequateness of the ranking category and the Bologna influence. The resulting SWOT analysis suggested a growth strategy based on internationalization and networking, as well as adjustments to the selection, divulgation and contents. Strategy implementation already produced as results the upgrade to the 21rst position of the EdUniversal ranking. ; info:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersion

In the contemporary geopolitical environment, this article outlines the issues and challenges faced by Africa and explores India–EU cooperation in addressing them. An attempt has been made to analyse this cooperation within the context of dynamic changes taking place in Africa. On the one hand, the essence of the phenomenon of Africa as a potential market is presented; on the other hand, it is depicted as a continent of challenges and threats. These factors have been assessed and analysed independent of China's growing role in Africa. While describing both EU and India's engagements in Africa, the article outlines specific areas of cooperation including defence and security, development cooperation, trade and investment, infrastructure development, climate challenges, and strengthening institutions of democracy.

The expansion and innovation of financial markets, commonly known as financialisation, is closely linked to the growth of pension funds. While the conventional narrative is based on the notion of financial development as a positive change, this paper argues that pension funds may induce demand-led pressures on the financial system, generating potential for systemic risk and instability. The rise of pension funds is therefore important for the process of financialisation, as these institutions' demand for assets continuously sparks growth and innovation in financial markets. In the current context pension funds are attempting to reduce risk by rebalancing their allocations away from equities towards 'alternatives', such as hedge funds and private equity. Coupled with the current regulatory trends towards risk-based funding regulation, we argue that pension funds are unlikely to be a stabilising force in financial markets today.
