From destabilisation to regional cooperation in Southern Africa?
In: Destabilisation and Regional Security Concerns in Southern Africa, 6
This book is a collection of essays by Southern African scholars which focus on the changing dynamic of the Southern African region. It attempts to analyse the past and at the same time project the future of the regional states in the context of the changes in South Africa. While in the past the destabilisation policy of the South African government focused on the military option, the essays in this book accept that the most likely scenario for Southern Africa is that the South African economy can be used as a destabilising factor. The significance of the above is, that, in spite of the changing complexion of South Africa, the regional states should still be wary of the economic power of South Africa. (DÜI-Hff)
