Terry Eagleton, the author of How to Read Literature, is a well-known British literary theorist, critic and public intellectual. He is a professor of English Literature at Lancaster University. Among his publications, Literary Theory: An Introduction (1983) is still the best one till nowadays. In How to Read Literature, Eagleton attempts to deal with the challenge of literary criticism at present. It is because students of literature often percept a literary work as what it says. The aspect of 'literariness' which is a work's aesthetic form is not taken into account. A literary work, then, is a mere of writing that shares information to the readers as though a newspaper, text book or manual of computer does. Whereas, focusing on literary forms and directing our sensitivity to language (these are items mostly discussed in this book) can uncover a theoretical and political question of text (ix). What is meant by literary forms are all elements building a body of work such as "tone, mood, pace, genre, syntax, grammar, texture, rhythm, narrative structure, punctuation and ambiguity (2)."

This review article considers the contribution that monographs and collections of articles published by feminist scholars during the 1990s make to family history in Canada. Feminist historians have successfully exposed the workings of class, gender, and ethnicity in a range of Canadian towns and cities. They have begun to chart the relationships between families and other institutions—most notably religion, leisure, and the law. Recent works contribute to a much clearer understanding of the ways experts and the state have worked to shape families and especially motherhood in Canada and to the discursive role of the white wife and mother in the racial politics of the settlement of the West. And recent work has laid the groundwork for a better understanding of the regulatory discourses around gender, sexuality, and heterosexuality especially in Canada's most studied province, Ontario.

The primary mission of commanders and staffs is a skillful realization of all measures related to preparation, planning, conduct and control of military operations. Ability to implement these measures originates from their professional knowledge of the theory of operational art and capability to execute it in practice. Based on a feedback from the courses participants, the authors of the article propose a set of measures which may contribute not only to improvement of the level of knowledge, skills and competences of military personal, but also to increase interest in the overall development of operational art in the Czech Armed Forces.
