Shigella infection strains producing shiga toxin results in bloody diarrheais a dangerous symptom in children under five years of age that can even lead to death. Therefore, this study was conducted to isolate Shigella strains producing shiga toxin from 150 samples which were taken from bloody stool of children under the five years of age. They were suffering from the diarrhea during the period from March 2021 to March 2022 in Tikrit city, Iraq. The results showed the possibility to isolate six isolates of Shigella sonnei at ratio 4% of the total samples. The isolates producing shiga toxin were identified by using stx1 gene. The results showed two isolates of Shigella possessing stx1 gene, at ratio 33.33 of total S. sonnei strains. The two isolates producing shiga toxin have been submitted to NCBI, then accepted as Iraqi strains in NCBI under the registration numbers OK127759.1 and OK127760.1. The Iraqi strains registered in NCBI showed agreement with a global strain of 99-100% that were recorded by registration numbers in Malaysia (CP060117.1), China (CP000038.1), United Kingdom (CP066810.1), Hungary (CP019689.1), Somalia (CP023645.1), Spain (CP022672.1), Italy (CP035008.1), India (CP041322.1), Australia (CP045932.1), Nigeria (CP046286.1), Switzerland (CP049183.1), USA (CP053751.1) and South Korea (CP055292.1). As for the sensitivity test, the results showed that the strain OK127759.1 was resistant to antibiotics azithromycin, ceftazidime, cefotaxime, ceftriaxone, augmentin and tetracycline. And it was sensitive to gentamicin and intermediately sensitive to ampicillin, chloramphenicol and nalidixic acid. As for the strain OK127760.1, the results showed his strain was intermediately sensitive to gentamicin and resistant to the other antibiotics which were used in the test. ZnO-NPs with a concentration of 200 μg/ml showed the highest inhibitory effectiveness against S. sonnei strains OK127759.1 and OK127760.1 with inhibition diameter of 22 mm and 21 mm respectively.

Nurses are an essential resource in health systems. However, the shortage of skilled nursing workforce is a global phenomenon with negative consequences – many factors, including individual, occupational, and socio-political aspects, influence nurse migration. Thus, the aim is to explore the migration intentions of nurses and nursing students, forcing them to seek work abroad. An online survey was conducted among nurses and nursing students as part of the APVV and VEGA projects. The questionnaire focused on the essential characteristics of the respondents and staffing approaches in hospitals in Slovakia. Data were obtained from a survey of 752 hospital nurses and 423 university nursing students. The statistical analysis consisted of factor and correspondence analysis. The findings highlight the factors influencing the migratory sentiments of nursing students and working hospital nurses. They are organization of work, staff remuneration, employee benefits, workroom equipment, shortage of nurses, bureaucracy, communication and relations with colleagues, superiors, and patients, training and career development, material and spatial security, instrumentation, digitization of work, the prestige of the medical profession, and current situation in the Slovak Republic. The paper identifies and evaluates groups of push factors of migration intentions – satisfaction/dissatisfaction with hospital working conditions. The results of the factor analysis indicate that such factors as material and spatial security, communication and relations with colleagues, work organization, lack of personnel, bureaucracy, the prestige of the medical profession, and the current situation in Slovakia affect their working conditions and pleasure.

Background: This research aims to access the effect of TikTok influencer marketing on consumer behavior using econometric models. TikTok has emerged as a popular social media platform, with influencers playing a crucial role in molding consumer perspectives and purchasing decisions. However, there is a need to empirically understand the effectiveness of TikTok influencer collaborations in driving brand awareness, purchase intentions, and actual purchasing behavior. Methods: Data for this study is gathered through a survey that is conducted to TikTok users, capturing variables such as exposure to influencer collaborations, engagement with influencer content, brand recall, and trust in TikTok influencers. Demographic information (gender, age, income, education) are also collected. Econometric models, including regression and correlation analysis, are applied to examine the gathered data, and assess the relationship between TikTok influencer marketing and consumer behavior outcomes (brand awareness, purchase intentions, and actual purchasing behavior). Results: The outcomes of the econometric analysis offer valuable information into the influence of TikTok influencer marketing on consumer behavior. The research illuminates the efficacy of influencer collaborations in driving brand awareness among consumers. It also unveil the influence of TikTok influencer promotions on the inclinations of consumers to buy products or services. The findings will contribute to understanding the extent to which TikTok influencer marketing affects actual purchasing behavior. Contribution: This research addresses a research gap by investigating the influence of TikTok influencer collaborations on consumer behavior. Through an econometric analysis, it provides quantitative insights into the relationship between TikTok influencer marketing and consumer outcomes. The findings inform marketers and brands about evaluating the efficiency of TikTok influencer campaigns, aiding in the development of impactful marketing strategies. This research enhances our insights into the function of TikTok influencer marketing in molding consumer behavior and contributes to the field of social media marketing.

AbstractDecades of research has revealed that humans can concurrently represent small quantities of three‐dimensional objects as those objects move through space or into occlusion. For infants (but not older children or adults), this ability apparently comes with a significant limitation: when the number of occluded objects exceeds three, infants experience what has been characterized as a "catastrophic" set size limit, failing to represent even the approximate quantity of the hidden array. Infants' apparent catastrophic representational failures suggest a significant information processing limitation in the first years of life, and the evidence has been used as support for prominent theories of the development of object and numerical cognition. However, the evidence for catastrophic failure consists of individual small‐n experiments that use null hypothesis significance testing to obtain null results (i.e., p > 0.05). Whether catastrophic representational failures are robust or reliable across studies, methods, and labs is not known. Here we report a systematic review and Bayesian meta‐analysis to examine the strength of the evidence in favor of catastrophic representational failures in infancy. Our analysis of 22 experiments across 12 reports, with a combined total of n = 367 infants aged 10–20 months, revealed strong support for the evidence for catastrophic set size limits. A complementary analysis found moderate support for infants' success when representing fewer than four objects. We discuss the implications of our findings for theories of object and numerical cognitive development.Research Highlights

ObjectivesPelvic injuries can be life-threatening and are challenging to identify in the prehospital phase. This study aimed to assess how pelvic examination is performed by paramedics and to determine the accuracy of their clinical examination when identifying pelvic fractures.MethodsThis was a prospective cohort study of prehospital interventions including both real and simulated trauma patients between July and August 2022. Data collection for the injured patient was made by an observer who was paired with teams of two consenting paramedics. Data pertaining to the clinical assessment for potential pelvic injuries during all interventions with a trauma patient were collected. Additionally, data were collected during four simulated scenarios of patients with an open-book type pelvic fracture following high-energy trauma mechanisms.ResultsA total of 29 trauma-related clinical interventions were assessed. Most patients were female (n = 22, 75.9%) with a mean age of 69.8 (SD 22.2) years. Fall from standing was the main trauma mechanism (n = 21, 72.4%). During 72.4% (n = 21) of all trauma-related interventions, an assessment for pelvic injuries was performed, mostly by pelvic palpation (n = 19, 65.5%), inquiring about the presence of pain (n = 12, 41.4%), searching for deformation (n = 7, 24.1%), and/or assessing leg length (n = 8, 27.6%). No pelvic injury was suspected by the paramedics, but two patients (6.9%) had a pelvic fracture and two (6.9%) had a hip fracture. Simulated cases of high-velocity mechanisms with an open-book pelvic fracture were completed by 11 pairs of paramedics. Most did a clinical pelvic assessment (n = 8, 72.7%) using palpation. When asked after the simulation, nine pairs (81.8%) suspected a pelvic fracture.ConclusionPelvic injuries are challenging to identify, and pelvic assessment on the field is not standardized among paramedics. Training is needed to increase awareness relative to pelvic injuries and to improve detection.

Tło: Wsparcie społeczne odgrywa istotną rolę w procesie adaptacji do skutków krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych, ułatwiając radzenie sobie z nimi. Przyjmuje się, że możliwość doświadczenia krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych stanowi dość powszechne zjawisko i głównie dotyczy osób znajdujących się w okresie średniej dorosłości.
Cel: Rozpatrywano występowanie zróżnicowania w zakresie spostrzegania różnych aspektów wsparcia społecznego, satysfakcji płynącej z uzyskiwanego wsparcia od bliskiej osoby oraz nasilenie krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych w zależności od posiadania rodzeństwa. Celem było także sprawdzenie zależności między nasileniem krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych a spostrzeganym dostępnym wsparciem społecznym i jakością relacji interpersonalnej dorosłych rodzeństw. Ostatni cel badań odnosił się do określenia związku między spostrzeganiem dostępnego wsparcia a jakością relacji interpersonalnej dorosłych rodzeństw.
Metodologia: W badaniach zastosowano metodę ilościową i opisową. Wykorzystano następujące kwestionariusze samoopisowe (Berlińskie Skale Wsparcia Społecznego, Skalę Oceny Ponownego Przystosowania Społecznego, Kwestionariusz Relacji Dorosłego Rodzeństwa oraz ankietę). W badaniu wzięło udział 136 osób w średnim wieku (M = 41,18, SD = 5,88). Pierwszą grupę stanowiły osoby posiadające rodzeństwo (n = 72, 52,9%), w tym 50 (69,4%) kobiet i 22 (30%) mężczyzn. W grupie osób bez rodzeństwa (n = 64, 47,1%) było 21 (32,8%) kobiet i 43 (67,2%) mężczyzn. Zebrane dane poddano analizie statystycznej przy użyciu oprogramowania IMB SPSS Statistics wersja 27 na licencji Uniwersytetu XX.
Rezultaty: Grupy osób posiadających rodzeństwo i nieposiadające rodzeństwa nie różniły się w zakresie spostrzeganego, jak i otrzymywanego wsparcia emocjonalnego, instrumentalnego oraz informacyjnego, oraz w zakresie nasilenia krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych. Osoby posiadające rodzeństwo czerpały większą satysfakcję ze wsparcia udzielanego przez bliską osobę. Nasilenie krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych nie łączyło się istotnie ze spostrzeganym dostępnym wsparciem społecznym. Doświadczanie większego nasilenia krytycznych wydarzeń życiowych wiązało się istotnie z mniej zgodną relacją interpersonalną dorosłych rodzeństw. Spostrzeganie dostępnego wsparcia emocjonalnego łączyło się ze zgodną relacją dorosłych rodzeństw.
Wnioski: Ukazane rezultaty badań skłaniają do refleksji nad potrzebą i znaczeniem wsparcia społecznego oraz kształtują świadomość tworzenia dostępnych sieci społecznych.

В последнее время в литературе усиливается внимание к культурным основаниям социальной мобильности, ведь по мере того, как развитие систем образования и меры социальной политики выравнивают доступ к возможностям получить хорошее образование и построить успешную карьеру и открывают их даже для представителей непривилегированных групп, все более важным становится то, что позволяет распознать, оценить эти возможности и воспользоваться ими. Поэтому мы посвятили данное исследование изучению нарративных структур организации опыта людей, совершающих стремительную восходящую мобильность. Мы обратились к группе респондентов, которые в момент проведения исследования почти наверняка продвигаются вверх по стратификационной лестнице – участникам программы affirmative action одного из ведущих российских вузов. В ходе 22 полуструктурированных глубинных биографических интервью мы изучили особенности мотивации, притязаний, воображение и действия, характерные способы выбора и стратегии, а также вышли на следующий уровень обобщения и установили, как эти элементы складываются в более крупные повествовательные структуры организации опыта. Полученные результаты выявили существенные отличия от картины, известной из многих западных исследований культурных оснований неравенства. Эти исследования указывают на ключевую роль «травм класса» в том, как молодые люди из непривилегированных семей выстраивают свой жизненный путь. Чтобы осмыслить обнаруженное различие, мы прибегли к концептуальной оппозиции прогрессивного vs трагического типов нарратива, предложенной Джеффри Александером: он показал, что эти нарративные структуры принципиально по-разному организуют опыт, практические оценки, суждения и принимаемые решения. Наши результаты показывают, что, в противоположность картине, известной из исследований, проведенных в США и некоторых других западных странах, в России в изучаемой группе преобладает прогрессивный нарратив. Помимо этого выявлены основные характеристики организации опыта вертикальной мобильности, связанного с поступлением в элитарный университет, которые в целом укладываются в культурную схему «эскейпа» – разрыва с культурными и моральными системами ориентиров социальной среды, которую покинули респонденты исследования. Особо отмечено моральное измерение проблемы: респонденты, как правило, позитивно оценивали свой опыт восходящей мобильности отнюдь не в прагматических, как можно было бы ожидать, а в моральных терминах.

Background: Enhancing the quality of patient treatment and safety relies heavily on nursing students' preoperative competence, making it an essential component of their education. The Perceived Preoperative Nursing Care Competence Scale for Nursing Students (PPreCC-NS) has been created in English to assess the preoperative competence of nursing students. Hence, translation and evaluation of the psychometric proprieties of the PPreCC-NS scale in the Arabic context are pivotal. Purpose: To examine the psychometric proprieties of the Arabic version of the Perceived Preoperative Nursing Care Competence Scale for Nursing Students (PPreCC-NS). Methods: A descriptive, crosssectional study was carried out on 202 nursing students using an online questionnaire. The students' selection was based on the probability simple random sampling technique. The international guidelines were followed in the translation of the PPreCC-NS. The psychometric proprieties and internal consistency were assessed using exploratory factor analysis and reliability tests. Results: Five factors were extracted by the exploratory factor analysis, with 22 final items. The obtained factor structure explained 62.71% of the variance. The Cronbach's alpha coefficients for the five domains ranged between 0.70 and 0.85, whereas the overall Cronbach's alpha coefficient for the scale was greater than 0.7. Conclusion: The translated questionnaire demonstrated valid and reliable psychometric properties when administered to nursing students. The translated preoperative nursing care competence measure for nursing students is thought to be used to assess perceived preoperative nursing students' competence in the Arab region. Implications for Nursing: The findings could be valuable for nursing educators, nursing managers, and decisionmakers in devising efficient strategies to improve preoperative nursing care. Further research studies are essential to understand factors influencing the level of understanding among nursing students in relation to preoperative nursing care. This study examined the effects of cane tip type, cane tip size, cane shaft rigidity, cane handle material, and cane swing speed on the cane user's ability to discriminate surfaces of different roughness. A repeated-measures design with block randomization was used for each of the three studies. Blindfolded sighted and visually impaired participants attempted to identify which of the two grooved aluminum plates was rougher by swiping the plates using different cane tips, shafts, handles, and swing speeds. Participants correctly identified the rougher plate at a higher percentage with smaller cane tips (77.6% ± 8.7%) than with larger cane tips (72.1% ± 7.2%), p = .029, r = .54. Pencil tips (76.9% ± 8.4%) were more advantageous than ball tips (72.8% ± 6.5%), p = .028, r = .55. Slower cane swing speed (84.4% ± 2.6%) also allowed the participants to better discriminate the surfaces than faster swing speed (76.6% ± 6.0%), p = .002, r = .80. However, the cane shaft rigidity ( p = .499, r = .22) and cane handle material ( p = .694. w2 = 0.02) did not have a significant effect on the cane user's ability to discriminate the surfaces of different roughness. Given these findings, a cane user may want to use a smaller and/or cylindrical cane tip as opposed to larger and/or spherical cane tip for better surface texture change detection. In addition, a cane user may not want to swing the cane too wide or walk too fast since wider cane swing and faster walking speed tend to result in faster cane swing speed, which can compromise one's ability to detect sudden changes in walking surface texture. That being said, an Orientation and Mobility (O&M) specialist should assess each person's traveling environment when determining which cane tip and swing speed to use in a given situation.

The state of research on central PZPR structures supervising propaganda policy in People's Poland: new findings and research gaps

The article takes a look at the academic work devoted to the analysis of the activities of the central apparatus of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR), which was in charge of the supervision of propaganda and the mass media in Poland from 1948 to 1989/90. Considerations developed after 1989 are reviewed. Focusing on the research analysis of the political decisions and activities of members of the Political Bureau and Secretariat of the Central Committee Jacek Wojsław 22 of the PZPR and selected departments of the Central Committee of the PZPR responsible for the functioning of propaganda in People's Poland is a necessary task in order to understand the way power was exercised in a non-democratic state. It was the central apparatus of the Polish United Workers' Party (PZPR) that fully controlled the creation, flow and dissemination of content directed to the mass public using the press, radio and television. The result of the conducted analysis indicates that so far there has been no monograph devoted to this important area of activity of the central authorities of the PZPR in the Polish scholarly output. With the exception of Mieczysław Rakowski's political biography, the other main coordinators of propaganda policy have not been described to date either. The situation is similar with the approximation of individual central party structures directly responsible for supervisory activities in the area of interest. It must be stressed, however, that there are a number of works on the academic market of a contributory nature relating to both central party structures and the PZPR leaders at their head responsible for overseeing the media and propaganda, in which selected problems have been analysed, usually within a limited period of time.

As is known, the Cyprus Peace Negotiation have been continuing for more than fifty years. For more than forty years, people in Cyprus have been spending a conflict-free and peaceful life. In this study, the fifty-year process of Cyprus Peace Negotiation will be summarized and explained at large within the framework of public policy analysis, analysis phases, policy preparation/implementation methods and the role of institutions in the process. The voting of the 2004 Annan Plan between the Turkish Cypriots and the Greek Cypriots during this process and the effect of the voting outcome on the negotiation process will be discussed. With the opening of the border gates that provided controlled passage to northern and southern Cyprus shortly before the Annan Plan was put to a vote, the effects of the new conditions created by the collective and free contact of two populations on the negotiation process and the future apprehension of Turkish Cypriots will be analysed. Since the study involved theoretical approaches, indirect research method was adopted as a method and domestic and foreign sources were scanned within this framework. In parallel with this method, content analysis technique was used. According to the findings, such multilateral conflicts Generals and 22 UN Special Representative behind, there is the danger of the means to turn into a goal. This possibility should not be ignored and the content of the talks and the subject of negotiation in question must be preoccupied on. It is also cumbersome to maintain the peace and the human duty to endure this hardship. It is only possible to conclude the negotiations by agreeing on the acceptance and ingestion of these facts, and perhaps by agreeing on a number of boundary regulations and similar requirements. This means that all parties agree that the actual situation is the best solution.

Antibiotics can contribute to bacterial resistance, posing a significant public health concern. Synbiotics represent an effective alternative to antibiotics, promoting the balance of intestinal microbiota and creating a conducive environment for beneficial bacteria growth. This study aimed to assess the utility of the synbiotic supplement (+Poultry) as a substitute for antibiotics in broiler diets from 1 to 42 days of age. We evaluated its impact on performance during two stages: 1 to 21 days and 1 to 42 days, digestibility coefficients, metabolizable energy, duodenum and jejunum morphometry, carcass yield, and hematological parameters. A total of 440 Ross 308 strain broiler chicks, both males and females, were accommodated in 2m² cages from day 1 to day 42. The birds were randomly assigned to four treatments, with each treatment having five replications consisting of 22 birds, thus forming 20 experimental plots. The treatment groups were as follows: Basal diet (BD) without the addition of antibiotics or synbiotics, BD with 150ppm zinc bacitracin (BCZ), BD with 0.5kg/t of synbiotic, and BD with 1kg/t of synbiotic. The synbiotic supplement (+Poultry) used in this experiment, provided by Nutri+, contained amino acids, minerals, probiotic culture, prebiotic additives, and flavoring additives. Throughout the experiment, all birds were subjected to a weekly sanitary challenge, which involved using reused litter and water contaminated with litter. Treatment effects were observed on feed conversion (P = 0.0100) of broilers aged 1 to 21 days, indicating improved feed conversion in broilers consuming BD + 1kg/t synbiotic compared to BD alone. Consequently, we recommend the incorporation of a synbiotic supplement at a rate of 1kg/t as a viable antibiotic replacement for chickens aged 1 to 21 days. The tested synbiotic supplement shows promise as an antibiotic alternative in broiler diets at all life stages, maintaining both performance and bird health.

AbstractCompanies and industries face various challenges when it comes to embracing the circular economy (CE). These challenges not only deter companies from adopting effective strategies that promote it but also hinder industries from effectively establishing a circular system that ensures the addition of economic value to the supply chain. To address these challenges, blockchain technology has emerged as a new and revolutionary protocol for sharing and updating information. It does so by linking databases within a decentralized, peer‐to‐peer, open‐access network, guaranteeing secure, immutable, and irreversible operations. Within this context, the primary objective of this article is to investigate how blockchain technology supports the transition to the CE. Additionally, the paper aims to identify the barriers that hinder the process of transitioning to the CE. To achieve this, a systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted, considering 22 articles published in recent years across Scopus, Web of Science, and Science Direct databases. The results of this review underscore the considerable potential of blockchain in supporting companies and industries as they embrace their roles in the CE and seek to overcome the barriers they encounter. The findings reveal that blockchain supports the transition to the CE by facilitating decentralization, enabling smart contracting, enhancing information sharing and improvement, ensuring traceability and transparency, providing incentives, offering protection and security, and promoting value creation. However, in examining the barriers that blockchain may face in supporting companies and industries as they transition to the CE, certain challenges are highlighted. These include issues related to low scalability, insufficient funding, underdeveloped regulations, limited infrastructure support, a lack of standardization and generalization, high initial adoption costs, associated risks, and a deficiency in engagement and awareness. In conclusion, this study contributes to the existing literature by demonstrating that although barriers may pose challenges to blockchain's role in facilitating the CE transition, the benefits it offers are likely to outweigh these obstacles.

The purpose of this presentation is to present how parents with disabled children view and understand the existence of their disabled children through the lens of special education professionals and also how professionals experienced and are affected from this understanding. After a lot of discussions and also after the completion of a questionnaire it had been discovered that parents of disabled children seemed to be a great issue for the professionals who work with their disabled children in case of Cyprus. Thus the Ministry of Education and Culture decided to organize a program which its aim will be to evaluate the difficulties that the professionals faced and secondly it will provide them with the right skills in order to make them able and ready to come across those difficulties. This program consisted of two meetings during the school year 2005-2006 and six meetings during 2006-2007. Parents of disabled children seemed to be a big issue to professionals, since their behaviour sometimes caused lot of difficulties in the everyday life of a school. The group of professionals was made of 22 "special" education teachers who work in the Ministry of Education and Culture. The group was closed for everyone else apart from the two educational psychologists who were responsible for the program and the representative of the Special Education Department. All the information that was mentioned in those groups could not be shared or discussed anywhere else apart from the specific group. It was decided from the organizing team as well that those meetings must be held in places other than school places, since this will provide the participants the chance to talk freely in a much different environment than their everyday environment at work. The analysis on the results is based on qualitative methods, since the group of professionals acts as a focus group.
