Over the past decades, the world has seen a dramatic increase in inequality. To what extent have the rules that govern the global economy, formally or informally, affected this trend? How can global governance arrangements be reformed to counteract them?In this book, an interdisciplinary group of prominent scholars scrutinizes how the rules of global economic governance-or the lack thereof-determine the extent and growth of inequality. Economists, political scientists, lawyers, and other experienced contributors bring together cutting-edge research on global rule making and inequality, exploring how international rules can exacerbate inequalities among and within countries to show the crucial interactions between policy choices and the distribution of income and wealth. They provide an in-depth examination of the rules governing foreign-investment protection, cross-border financial flows, and intellectual property rights, as well as the lack of standards governing international taxation and the channels through which they might affect inequality. With a focus on ambitious and achievable reforms, this book offers concrete steps toward global economic governance capable of counteracting inequitable wealth distribution and bringing about fairer economic growth.

This book explores the political economy of China-Pakistan economic corridor, a major pilot project for China's "One Belt, One Road" initiatives. Pakistan will provide China with not only a pathway access to the Indian Ocean, Middle East and Africa, but also vital connections to the Trans-Asia railway network that links Southeast Asia, South Asia and West Asia. Foreign policy is an essential component of Egypt's general state policy. Together with its traditional diplomatic and political functions, and given that development policy is considered a key objective, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry participates in the country's development effort by trying to attract foreign investment, obtain economic assistance and facilitate technology transfers. Egyptian diplomacy also seeks to maintain strong bilateral and multilateral relationships, which is another essential goal of Egypt's general policy. Strengthening traditional friendly relations as well as building new relationships enables Egypt to exercise influence and pursue its national interest all over the globe.

This article seeks to examine Vietnam-Australia bilateral relations from 2000 to 2018. It will focus on political and economic dynamics of this relationship. Canberra and Hanoi established initial diplomatic contacts in 1973. After the first 27 years of approaching each other, they both recognized that it is in their mutual interests to strengthen and deepen their political and economic linkages. Therefore, from 2001 to 2018, Hanoi and Canberra continued to take practical steps to create political establishments and economic chances for greater successes in their relations. Like any other bilateral relations in world politics, there may be differences between Canberra and Hanoi, yet these differences have not prevented them from bringing their relationship to a new height. "This book critically investigates the historiography of International Relations. For the past fifteen years, the field has witnessed the development of a strong interest in the history of the discipline. The chapters in this edited volume, written by some of the field's preeminent disciplinary historians, all manifest the best of an innovative and exciting generation of scholarship on the history of the discipline of International Relations. One of the objectives of this volume is to take stock of the historical turn. Yet this volume is not simply a stock-taking exercise, as it also intends to identify the limitations and blind spots of the recent historiographical literature. The chapters consider a range of diverse thinkers and examine their impact on understanding various dimensions of the field's history."--
