Religions, especially Abrahamic religions, are having a great role in building human civilization in the world. History recorded that some of the greatest wonders of the world, such as pyramid in Egypt, Borobudur Temple in Indonesia, and some enormous buildings in Greece have been built under the spirit of religion. since the great role of religions nowadays religion is always attached to actual phenomena in the framework of changes in the world. This article is trying to understand religion without the border of language and culture that is local and particularistic. Abrahamic religions normatively and theologically do not share many differences. However, pragmatically and historically their differences are the big problems of the world. Most of the bloody wars that happened in some parts of the world lately are fueled by religious disagreements. Finally, pragmatically the writer explains the role of religion in the development of great civilizations in the world, including the role of religion in the democratization of Indonesia. For it, to be a democratic state, pluralism and inclusivism in understanding religion should be the heart of Indonesian society.

Social forces at the core of the world economy were sheltered from world‐ordering processes for more than a century before being abruptly exposed in the current phase of globalisation. In this context, resistance appears as a new political movement, with its own finalities and tactics, and a proper – if insubstantial – subject of reference (the "we" who are part of the anti‐globalisation movement everywhere). Another world is possible, but to make it happen we must use proper politics. At the periphery, social forces have always constituted themselves in their meeting with world order. "We", whoever we may be, have been there before. Against this history, current resistance is not defined by the political form it now may be taking or the subject on whose behalf a different world order is now envisioned or argued for, but in relation to how other social forces at other moments have defined their connection to world order. Informed by these complementary perspectives, we can better understand the depth of present resistance to neo‐liberal globalisation, and think about ways to marshal its transformative potential.

The study discusses the history of the Jewish refugees within the Shanghai setting and its relationship to the two established Jewish communities, the Sephardi and Russian Jews. Attention is also focused on the cultural life of the refugees who used both German and Yiddish, and on their attempts to cope under Japanese occupation after the outbreak of the Pacific War. Differences of identity existed between Sephardi and Ashkenazi Jews, religious and secular, aside from linguistic and cultural differences. The study aims to understand the exile condition of the refugees and their amazing efforts to create a semblance of cultural life in a strange new world.

Few articles in the humanities have had the impact of Lisa Jardine and Anthony Grafton's seminal 'Studied for Action' (1990), a study of the reading practices of Elizabethan polymath and prolific annotator Gabriel Harvey. Their excavation of the setting, methods and ambitions of Harvey's encounters with his books ignited the History of Reading, an interdisciplinary field which quickly became one of the most exciting corners of the scholarly cosmos. W. E. B. Du Bois was one of the leading figures of Pan-African thought and activism in the twentieth century. As a sociologist, Du Bois wrote much about the historical and social circumstances of African Americans while often acknowledging the African historical background of much of African American, or Negro, culture. In 1946 Du Bois published The World and Africa, which was a culmination of previous attempts at penning a narrative of African history beginning with his 1915 publication The Negro, in which he included the social-historical experience of African Americans within the continuity of African history. This book delivers for the first time a comprehensive Afrocentric investigation and critique of Du Bois's writings on African history. It argues that while Du Bois presented at the time a strong critique of the Eurocentric construction of African history, many of Du Bois's descriptions and arguments about African people and history were likewise flawed with interpretations that projected the cultural subjectivities of Europe. Further, while Du Bois rightfully presents the historical relationship between African Americans and Africa as a justification for Pan-African activism, this book contends that Du Bois's failure to center African culture instead of race leads to superficial justifications for Pan-African unity.

The issue of achieving the results of mastering the basic educational programs is of particular relevance in the context of the practical implementation of the updated Federal State Educational Standards in the primary school. The article deals with learning tasks in history that form a group of personal results in different types of lessons in grades 6–10. The training tasks proposed by us cover all spheres of the development of personal results (patriotic education, civic education, spiritual and moral sphere, understanding of the value of scientific knowledge, aesthetic education, formation of a value attitude to life and health, labour and environmental education, adaptation to the changing conditions of social and natural environment) named in the Exemplary Work Program on History, have a variety of forms, and in some cases are directly related to the local history of Transbaikalia and the Pskov land. The article notes the significant educational potential of the discipline "History" for the formation of the internal position of students. Being in-cluded in a variety of activities in history lessons, students gain experience in exploring life meanings, understanding values, orientation in moral standards, which means they can develop their own existential attitude towards the world around them (nature, society) and themselves.
