The Dark Side Of The Ivory Tower: Cyberbullying Of University Faculty And Teaching Personnel
This paper discusses findings from an exploratory study on the nature, extent, and impact of cyberbullying experienced by 121 faculty members at one Canadian university. We situate cyberbullying in university on a continuum between cyberbullying in K-12 education and cyberbullying in the workplace and also take into account the power dynamics that characterize the post-secondary context. Quantitative and qualitative analyses of online survey data revealed that 17% of respondents had experienced cyberbullying either by students (12%) or by colleagues (9%) in the last 12 months. Gender differences were apparent plus racial minority status also appeared to render faculty members more vulnerable to cyberbullying. These findings suggest a rights-based lens could be used to analyze and respond to the vulnerabilities of women and other marginalized faculty in cyberbullying situations. This study contributes to the dearth of research on cyberbullying at the post-secondary level and raises the need to consider factors of difference, such as gender and race, in policy development and practice.

Designing The Balanced Scorecard for The Faculty of Economics of Satya Wacana Christian University
Concerning the competition of universities in Indonesia, a research about the measurement and quality control from strategic perspectives will pose an interesting subject to be explored. The high-pressure of the economic condition, the unstable political environment, the globalization era as well as the unfair competition has changed the business environment. As a result, performance measures are used to guide the managers' decision and to evaluate the performance of managers and their units. This measurement is used as guidelines and incentives to facilitate the coordination among managers and business unit goals with those of the overall corporate goals. Without the performance measurement system, companies will probably move to a wrong decision. One of the tools that can provide comprehensive, coherent and balance performance measures is Balance Scorecard. Balance Scorecard does not only provide comprehensive measures( financial, Customer, Internal Business Process, and Learning & Growth), but is also provide a road map about how to achieve financial objectives without sacrificing long term performance. The Faculty of Economics of Satya Wacana Christian University (F-E SWCU), as one of the private universities in Indonesia, must also formulate and implement strategies that will fit with the high turbulent business environment. To avoid a pitfall of financial performance, FE SWCU have to implement Balance Scorecard. The Balance Scorecard designed for FE SWCU consists of strategic objectives derived from company vision mission, outcome measures and performance driver measures, and targets as milestones to know achievement of strategic objectives of the company.

American society has undergone many changes since World War II. Perhaps the most notable of these has been its transformation from an industrial to a post‐industrial society, a society that is no longer primarily goods‐producing but one that has increasingly been providing a greater variety of services.
Study of the type and distribution of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes in 27 cases of lung adenocarcinoma
In: Romanian Journal of Military Medicine, Volume 120, Issue 3, p. 24-28
ISSN: 2501-2312
Pathologists observed the presence of tumor infiltrating lymphocytes (TILs) in solid tumors many years before the research focus shifted from cancer cells to the tumoral microenvironment. In lung adenocarcinoma TILs vary in number, phenotype and distribution. Our study investigate the type and distribution of TILs regarding the stage of disease and histological subtype in 27 cases of lung adenocarcinoma. By immunohistochemistry we evaluated semi-quantitatively CD3, CD8 and cyclin D1. We have found that CD3+CD8- lymphocytes prevail at the invasive margin and in tumoral stroma. Cyclin D1 was diffusely positive in tumoral cells in all the five cases of lepidic type of lung adenocarcinoma. In other histological types cyclin D1 was focally positive, most at the margin of the tumor irrespective of the presence or absence of TILs.

Vascular Changes in Hypertension: Is There Cell Death Involved? – A Narrative Review
In: Romanian Journal of Military Medicine, Volume 126, Issue 2, p. 136-143
ISSN: 2501-2312
"Background: Cardiovascular disease can be triggered and accelerated by hypertension and the underlying changes in the structure and function of arteries. The purpose of this review is to explore some vascular changes that occur in hypertension as a consequence of the imbalance between cell proliferation and cell death, processes that play an important role in stabilizing the thickness of the arterial wall during vascular remodeling. Methods: The authors conducted research through PubMed and Google Scholar databases using the following search formula: (hypertensive*) AND ((vascular modifications)) OR (vascular changes)) AND (cell death). Results: From 40 articles, only 17 publications were included in this study, taking into account four processes that can be preceded or followed by inflammation and depend on the interaction between local growth factors, vasoactive substances, and hemodynamic stimuli: Cell proliferation and growth; Cell migration; Cell death; Degradation or reorganization of extracellular matrix. Conclusions: To summarize, maladaptive vascular changes in hypertension can represent a major argument for prompt and maximal therapeutic intervention in patients with high cardiovascular risk. Moreover, they can represent an important step in discovering new markers of cardiovascular risk and in the development of new targeted therapies for different pathways of cellular signaling through which the reversibility of abnormal vascular changes could be obtained.
