Le présent article explore l'impact potentiel d'une augmentation de l'investissement dans les services de soins éducatifs à la petite enfance au Canada. Avec un investissement de plusieurs milliards de dollars visant à rendre des soins de haute qualité accessibles, abordables, flexibles et inclusifs pour tous les Canadiens et toutes les Canadiennes, ce projet devrait refaçonner le paysage des services de garde au Canada. Une amélioration de l'accès aux services de soins éducatifs à la petite enfance est importante, mais ne suffit pas. La qualité doit être la pierre angulaire du programme, et les besoins de familles à faible revenu doivent faire l'objet d'une attention particulière. Des mesures incitatives stratégiques pour les fournisseurs de soins et un appui financier pour le personnel éducatif constituent des façons pratiques d'améliorer de façon significative l'efficacité et la portée des services de soins éducatifs à la petite enfance. L'objectif n'est pas simplement d'avoir plus de places en garderie, mais d'offrir de meilleurs soins pour tous. L'article tire parti de toute une gamme d'études de recherche et de documents de politiques pour explorer les défis et les bénéfices potentiels de cet ambitieux projet et pour offrir des recommandations sur la façon dont les intervenants peuvent travailler ensemble à assurer sa réussite. Note des rédacteurs : Le premier volume de Canadian Public Policy/Analyse de politiques a été publié en 1975. Ce volume-ci est le cinquantième. Pour commémorer cet événement, nous avons organisé une série de conférences qui sont publiées dans ce numéro spécial. La professeure Dhuey a donné cette conférence lors des réunions de l'Association canadienne d'économique à Winnipeg en juin 2023.

Purpose: The study aims to determine which and which of the English vocabulary methods are used, as well as whether the student has his/her own learning discipline, whether he/she has knowledge about vocabulary learning strategies, and whether he/she is familiar with traditional and modern methods.
Method: In this study, quantitative research method was used, the "Vocabulary Learning Strategies Use Scale", which was used to determine the vocabulary learning strategies used by students in their English language acquisition, was administered to 623 participants studying at Çankırı Karatekin University 1st grade in the fall semester of the 2022-2023 academic year.
Findings and Implications: In line with the findings, female participants used note-taking and repetition strategies more than male participants. Students whose mothers received graduate education used executive cognition and organizing strategies more than students whose mothers did not. Students who graduated from science high schools use repetition strategies more than students who graduated from other types of high schools. The average score of students who graduated from high schools in the Southeastern Anatolia region is higher than students who graduated from high schools in other regio
Result: It shows that female students, students whose mothers have postgraduate education, and students who graduated from science high school use vocabulary learning strategies more.
Originality: The study has a unique value in terms of shedding light on issues such as whether the student has own learning discipline, whether he/she is familiar with traditional and modern methods, whether he/she uses technology to improve his/her vocabulary, as well as which of the English vocabulary learning methods are used.

The high degree of the environment instability generates the need to apply not only a strategy, but also a range of management practices as well as tools to the day-to-day operations of cultural institutions. Strategy can therefore be seen as a modern way for continuous adaptation to the environment. Having and implementing a strategy, including marketing strategies, is important not only from perspective of the declining participation and attendance in cultural events in the Polish society, but also because of the need to meet the requirements of effective operation. Hence the emerging question: how to manage a cultural institution whose survival nowadays is more than ever dictated by an unclear future scenario? This paper will present the strategic concepts of the Polish philharmonics and orchestras, which are a response to the challenges of the environment with different attitudes and activities.

Qualitative research in form of the individual in-depth interviews (IDI), which form the basis of the study, was conducted between May 2022 and May 2023. They were concerned with management tools currently used by managers and directors of public cultural institutions – in case of this study, these were philharmonics and orchestras. Transcripts of a total of 25 in-depth interviews were analysed, then categorised and compiled using qualitative research support software.

The conclusions that emerged from the literature review and qualitative research indicate a strong diversification in the attitudes of philharmonic managers. The hybridisation of artistic activities means that, as never before, philharmonics are diversifying not only their identity, but also the range of activities as well as their effect. The environment plays an increasingly important role in this process.

El Endomarketing surge entonces como una estrategia que busca fortalecer las relaciones al interior de la organización, involucrando a los colaboradores en la construcción de la cultura organizacional. Con el objetivo de realizar una propuesta integradora del endomarketing, identificando cinco dimensiones consideradas muy importantes con beneficios notables para las organizaciones. El estudio constituye una investigación básica, en la que se realizó una revisión de literatura sobre sobre las estrategias de las 5E del endomarketing 1963 hasta el 2023. La investigación es cualitativa y se utilizó el método descriptivo - explicativo. Para la recolección de información se empleó como instrumento la ficha de análisis documental, la cual registró la información recolectada de los recursos promocionales de la página de empresas, google scholar, bases de datos como SCIELO, SCOPUS, redes sociales como Facebook e Instagram, de la plataforma de YouTube, entre otros medios digitales. Como resultado, se presenta la propuesta que incluye cinco elementos esenciales para la implementación del endomarketing con el propósito de fortalecer aspectos que no se han considerado en las organizaciones. Las 5E del endomarketing que incluye los elementos externos, elementos internos, elaboración de estrategias, ejecución de estas y evaluación de los resultados. Las organizaciones deben atender y considerar los elementos exógenos que tienen los colaboradores, debido a que inciden y son determinantes en la rotación de personal; Esta propuesta es aplicable en medianas y pequeñas empresas porque todos los componentes que conforman las 5E son características y condiciones que se presentan en ellas, sin embargo, puede ser adaptado a diferentes organizaciones.

PurposeThis study examines the effect of digitalization on poverty and income inequality in developing countries. The study answers the question of whether digitalization is a way for developing countries to get out of poverty and income inequality.Design/methodology/approachThe study uses data from 17 developing countries with data from 2005 to 2021. The study employs fully modified ordinary least squares (FMOLS) and dynamic ordinary least squares (DOLS), with an augmented mean group (AMG) for robustness. Digitalization, as the variable of interest, is proxied by the digitalization index (DI), constructed using principal component analysis (PCA). The dependent variables are poverty and income inequality, which are used in different models.FindingsThe evidence indicates that digitalization decreases poverty and income inequality in developing countries. These findings are justified when we use the AMG estimator, but the strength of the coefficients and significance levels are higher in the FMOLS and DOLS estimators. The results of the control variables also show that human development (LHDI), CO2 emissions and foreign direct investment (FDI) have decreasing effects on poverty and income inequality. Thus, digitalization is a good option for developing countries to get out of poverty and income inequality to achieve sustainable development goals (1&10).Originality/valueThis study provides rigorous empirical evidence on the effect of digitalization on poverty and income inequality in developing countries. Unlike the previous studies on developing countries, this study used a DI to proxy digitalization. Confidentiality is important in legal practice as it obligates legal practitioners to protect clients' information. It is often linked to the right to privacy entrenched in section 14 of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996. The link is made on the basis of clients' entitlement to attorney-client confidentiality. Furthermore, the rules of courts in civil proceedings require legal practitioners to include clients' personal or confidential information in court documents, including their identity numbers. The requirement of clients' personal information in court documents is found in particular in Rule 3(A)(1)(b)(i) of the Uniform Rules of Court, 2009 as amended. This personal information is uploaded online in the CaseLines system, as required by Practice Direction 1 of 2023, a situation which poses a significant risk because such information may be hacked and used to commit cybercrimes. Current legislation, such as the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013, seeks to provide guidelines on how courts should protect confidential information which is included in the pleadings or affidavits. The Practice Directives, however, are silent on measures that should be taken to protect confidential information. Item 18 of the E-Rules and the Draft Amended Magistrates' Courts Rules seek to protect confidential information to a certain extent, but these have not yet been implemented. The article examines current legislation, the respective rules of court, and the approach followed by the courts, in order to determine whether confidentiality does indeed exist in civil proceedings. In addition, it briefly compares the online civil proceedings of South Africa and the United Kingdom to ascertain their differences and similarities.

The purpose of this work is to identify the quality of work of recreation and recreation organizations for children based on a sociological assessment of parental feedback. The article analyzes the key indicators of the quality of children's recreation and recreation, including the quality of the material and technical base of institutions, the system of ensuring the safety of children, the quality of nutrition and medical care, and others. The regulatory and legal bases for the organization of children's recreation and recreation and the key features of its organization in the regions of the Russian Federation were highlighted. To identify key trends, the results of representative studies conducted by major sociological centers such as VTSIOM, NAFI and others were used. The work is also based on the results obtained by the authors during a sociological study of the organization of recreation and recreation for children, an assessment of the quality and satisfaction with children's recreation, conducted on the basis of the Russian State Social University in the fall of 2023. The participants were selected according to the following criteria: residence in the territory of the Russian Federation, the presence of children /grandchildren aged 7 to 18 years. The most popular formats of children's recreation and recreation, key indicators of the quality of recreational activities for children on vacation were analyzed. According to the results of the study, common methods of working with children in Russian organizations of children's recreation and recreation were identified. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the identification and measurement of key indicators of the quality of child.

Las postrimerías del año 2023 arrastran consigo desde Oriente Medio una lastimosa melodía, ya tristemente asimilada en la siempre aletargada conciencia occidental. Esa misma melodía, de resonancias familiares en las tierras de las que surge, se trata, en términos pragmáticos, de una fórmula pergeñada en los últimos decenios del siglo XX; concretamente en 1987. A lo largo del presente artículo se pretenderá dotar de significado empírico-teórico a una premisa: que el pasado, per se, no es siempre regresivo, y que, consecuentemente, del mismo afluyen modelos comportamentales que, sino emanan directamente en el presente, sí proyectan sobre él una suerte de directrices formulares; patrones que permiten, cuando menos, construir un trazado histórico tendente a dotar de sentido, conocimiento, fundamentación o – más raramente-, verdad, a una concreción factual que, una vez sucedida, se engarza en el curso de la Historia como el mismo enjambre de acontecimientos que se solaparon para su misma materialización. En un ejercicio de sutil persecución hacia dichos acontecimientos, las subsiguientes líneas propondrán una serie de comienzos; despertares que representaron cambios significativos y que nacieron bajo las luces o las sombras de procesos históricos formidables. De este modo, mediante el empleo de las premisas teóricas apuntadas, se procurará la reconstrucción histórica de una serie de procesos particulares que desembocaron en la Primera Intifada de 1987, cuya trascendencia se proyecta hacia nuevas fenomenologías hoy plenamente vigentes. Sólo con el examen de la impronta causal de ese "primer" despertar colectivo, podrán encontrarse instrumentos para comprender la raigambre idiosincrática de la barbarie contemporánea.

The change applies only to some people using Google in California, though it is not clear how many.The California Journalism Preservation Act (CJPA) would require large online platforms to pay a "journalism usage fee" for linking to news sites based in the Golden state. The bill cleared the California assembly in 2023. To become law, it would need to pass in the Senate before being signed by the governor, Gavin Newsom.As has happened in Spain, Australia, Canada and so on when such laws have been proposed. Of course, the Californian insistence is that this time will be different. There's a dual contention here. Firstly, Google (and Facebook etc) profit from, perhaps even steal, the work of journalists and newspapers by presenting them in search and social media. This reduces the revenue to the newspapers and woes is us.Secondly, the traffic generated by being in search results and social media is a vital source of income for journalism and newspapers. Which is what leads to the conclusion that Google (and Facebook etc) must pay for the news being stolen, but must also continue to run the news they're stealing. Only politics could possibly advance such absurd logic. Which is one reason for - a very good example of -why we continually insist that politics really isn't a good way to run the world.

Health and welfare services are increasingly striving towards data-driven, digital and patient-centric approaches to service management and delivery. The growing digitalization and amount of eHealth services introduced are part of a sociotechnical change in health and social care, where different sectors collaborate in ecosystems.
This study focuses on ecosystemic collaboration in health and welfare and its potential in value creation, with a particular interest in how multistakeholder co-creation can be enabled and orchestrated. The study draws on research on service ecosystem design, open innovation and co-creation.
The aim of this study is to explore how service ecosystems are co-created by public, private and third-sector organizations in the health and welfare sector. To achieve this aim, our study has two research objectives. First, the study explores current ecosystemic practices in health and welfare. Second, the study identifies factors that affect these practices.
This study presents the findings of a qualitative study conducted in Finland in spring 2023 with key informants from the health and welfare sector. The study context revolves around a HEI that provides university level teaching in social and health care and adopts a problem-based pedagogy that is firmly grounded in working-life collaboration with cross-sectoral actors and professional practice in the field. The findings reveal different factors that have an effect on ecosystem collaboration.
The findings support the argument that working in ecosystems is beneficial and digitalization has been a key driver of innovation in the health care and welfare sector in Finland. Based on these findings, we discuss the potential of orchestrators, such as HEIs, to co-create service ecosystems that enable digitalization of health and welfare.

AbstractA substantial surge in ESG research has triggered a wide dissemination of research across various domains, underscoring the need for an extensive appraisal of the complex ESG landscape. This paper is grounded on a sample of 441 documents retrieved from the Web of Science database, spanning from 2007 to 2023. A strategic mapping was performed to decipher the cumulative scientific knowledge by delving into the interrelations among various facets and identifying the field's basic, motor, niche, and emerging themes. We also explore the thematic evolution of ESG across distinct time frames, indicating ESG's inception, evolution, and diversification over the years. Our findings contribute to the ESG literature by categorizing it into seven clusters across the four quadrants. Results of the strategic mapping accentuate the obsolete, over‐researched and promising areas of ESG research. We find research on CSR, socially responsible investments and ESG‐firm performance themes as over‐researched areas calling for diversification. Promising research areas include the emerging association of ESG with portfolio construction, green innovations and investments, ESG controversies, information asymmetry, divergence, greenwashing, AI‐enabled universal rating mechanism, up‐grading and down‐grading of ESG scores and ESG‐linked compensations. Thematic evolution of ESG research underpins the culmination of its interplay with sustainability, emerging markets, board diversity, and green financing. Finally, the factorial analysis strengthens the reliability of the main findings, making it robust. This paper stands as the initial venture providing a comprehensive exploration of conceptual linkages, shifts, and advancements within the ESG literature through thematic mapping, offering an original contribution to the field.

La publicación del "Libro Blanco de Empleo y Discapacidad" ha supuesto un hito de gran importancia para la orientación de la política laboral de las personas con discapacidad.
En este artículo se comentan y se valoran sus aportaciones fundamentales, a través de los contenidos más importantes que incluye. A partir de la perspectiva central del derecho a la igualdad y a la no discriminación de esas personas, se formulan ciertos comentarios acerca de las políticas de empleo que han desarrollado las normas más recientes y en particular la Ley 3/2023 de 28 de febrero. Y, seguidamente, se abordan los aspectos más críticos y controvertidos en cuanto al empleo y contratación de estos colectivos: por una parte, el deber de adaptación de los puestos de trabajo, que cada vez adquiere más relieve, sobre todo a la vista de la doctrina judicial que va produciéndose por parte de los órganos internos y de la Unión Europea. Por otra, la cuota de reserva, que ha sido objeto de grandes debates acerca de su regulación en la legislación española, aunque exista un importante grado de consenso sobre la necesidad de mantenerla. Y, finalmente, la diferencia entre el empleo protegido y el empleo ordinario, que proyecta interesantes reflexiones acerca de las relaciones entre uno y otro y el papel relativo que deben tener para una mayor y mejor integración laboral de las personas con discapacidad. En el entorno de estos tópicos se analizan y discuten las propuestas de Libro Blanco y se formulan conclusiones de síntesis.

The years 1948-1952 were pivotal for the history of Bangladesh. The question of what would be the state language was raised by the people of this country. Muslim leaders in Pakistan, at the time, believed that Urdu should be the state language because it had become recognized as the cultural symbol of sub-continental Muslims. However, most of Pakistan's population, the Bengalis of eastern Pakistan, to whom Urdu was a foreign language, considered it a ploy by the West Pakistanis to colonize East Pakistan. Protests erupted across East Pakistan after the then Prime Minister of Pakistan replaced Bangla as the state language with Urdu. On February 21, 1952, a student protest resulted in the deaths of some students by police. The language movement drew Bengalis' attention to their collective aspirations to create a new nation and nationalist identity, leading them to fight for an imagined sovereign state, Bangladesh. Against the backdrop of our language movement, Fagun Haway (In Spring Breeze, 2019), a film by Tauquir Ahmed, captures the anecdotes of Pakistani repression towards Bengalis by portraying the nationalist consciousness and identity approaches of this nation. Employing the concept of nationalism and the historical development of our identity approaches, this paper shows that Ahmed displays the coexistence of Bengali and Muslim identity approaches as well as the contentious relationship between these two approaches inside our nationalism at that time. Besides, Bengaliness is viewed as the dominating approach when the debate over the state language turns into a divisive political one and a fight for our very existence.

This study delves into the analysis of communal violence in Bangladesh, focusing on the 2012 violent attack on the Buddhist community in Ramu, Cox's Bazar. It examines the extent to which the attack affected the social cohesion of the local Muslim and Buddhist communities and evaluates the efficacy of post-violence responses for strengthening social cohesion and building resilience. We applied a mixed-method approach by using descriptive statistics from a survey of 300 local people and qualitative data from Focus Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews. Based on an analytical framework of communal violence and resilience-building, this paper argues that communal violence is an ideologically motivated phenomenon that endangers inter-community relations, which cannot be fully recouped as various inadequacies undermine post-violence initiatives. The violent attack on the Buddhist community in Ramu was, in this vein, instigated by rumour and misinformation, igniting communal sentiment using a questionable Facebook post/tagging, intentionally used to mobilise locals and outsiders. Besides immediate consequences such as the destruction of property and the desecration of ancient religious places, it damaged inter-community relations by creating trauma, mistrust, and fear, which ruptured social interaction. The authorities could not prevent the attack due to their inability to understand the gravity of the issue. The immediate recovery support was quick and sufficient. However, it remained limited to reinstating the structures destroyed by the attack. Steps undertaken by different authorities for resilience-building were restricted. Therefore, grassroots people remain unattached in social cohesion building and coexist in subtle discomfort, if not anxiety.

The motivation for this text are the outcomes of the First research days on supervision that were organized by the Doctoral Program "Social Work and Social Policy" (PDS SWSP) and the Postgraduate University Specialist Study Program "Supervision in Psychosocial Work" in April, 2023. The plenary lecture on the conceptualization of qualitative research on the doctoral level and two panel discussions with doctoral students and their mentors showed that the process of preparation of doctoral theses on supervision is an intense process during which a transition of the roles from supervisors into researchers occurs, with a gradual integration of these two roles into a new, expanded professional identity. Apart from that, the preparation of a qualitative doctoral thesis is often a lonely process accompanied by numerous insecurities, and therefore it is necessary to develop new forms of support for doctoral students that would enable a creative space and time for doctoral students to reflect on the development of their supervisory and scientific-research identity. The analysis of methodological aspects and outcomes of specialist final papers, as well as a panel discussion among supervisors, decision-makers and users of supervision in different systems (e.g. social welfare education, penal system) pointed out the need for further improvements, for example designing more complex research projects in which a team of postgraduate students and their mentors would take part. To maintain the quality of specialist final papers and doctoral theses, methodological workshops for students and mentors are needed.
