In the face of the political transformations provoked by social movements in Latin America, especially in countries such as Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia, we consider it important to intensify a reading of the law, the State and justice regarding the political and also legal phenomenon of the constitutional transformation of Our America gestated under the heat and pressure of social movements in Our America especially in countries such as Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia. With the lens of social rights we want to advance socio-legal discussions in the face of this phenomenon and with it, the birth of new epistemologies to understand human dignity and the guarantee of rights with the scope and enjoyment of a project of individual and collective life. ; Frente a las transformaciones políticas suscitadas por los movimientos sociales de América Latina, especialmente de países como Ecuador, Bolivia y Colombia consideramos importante intensificar una lectura del derecho, el Estado y la justicia respecto al fenómeno político y también jurídico de la transformación constitucional de Nuestra América gestadas bajo el calor y la presión de los movimientos sociales en Nuestra América especialmente en países como Ecuador, Bolivia y Colombia. In The Spanish Monarchy and the Creation of the Viceroyalty of New Granada (1717-1739), Francisco A. Eissa-Barroso analyzes the politics behind the most salient Bourbon reform introduced in Spanish America during the early eighteenth century. Readership: Scholars and students of colonial Spanish America, the Spanish Atlantic, and early modern Spain interested in both empire and colonialism and, furthermore, the development and administration of early modern, fiscal military states.

This report focuses on American demographic trends and speculates about the possible effects of these trends on national security over the next quarter-century. Four areas of interest are examined: (1) qualified manpower; (2) defense spending; (3) military effectiveness; and (4) international standing. The report concludes with a list of possible changes that could occur in these four areas by the year 2010. Critical Heritage Studies is a new and fast-growing interdisciplinary field of study seeking to explore power relations involved in the production and meaning-making of cultural heritage. Politics of Scale offers a global, multi- and interdisciplinary point of view to the scaled nature of heritage, and provides a theoretical discussion on scale as a social construct and a method in Critical Heritage Studies. The international contributors provide examples and debates from a range of diverse countries, discuss how heritage and scale interact in current processes of heritage meaning-making, and explore heritage-scale relationship as a domain of politics
