The United States government signed a total of eight treaties with the Navajo between 1846 and 1868. The U.S. Senate ratified only two--in 1849 and 1868. The Navajo Treaty of 1868, signed on June 1, represents a document of liberation but also a reminder of the many deaths that occurred during the "Long Walk" and brutal incarceration of Navajo (Diné) People at Hwéeldi or Fort Sumner, New Mexico (1846-1868). The Treaty (called Naaltsoos Sáni) allowed the Navajo people to return to ancestral lands and established the legal sovereignty of the Navajo Nation. Of 21 federally-recognized tribes in Arizona, only the Navajo have a treaty with the United States. The signers included 23 Navajo leaders (Barboncito, Manuelito, Ganado Mucho, Narbono), President Andrew Johnson, and Lt. General (Indian Peace Commissioner) W.T. Sherman. The NAU Cline Library was honored to serve as the exhibit venue for a display of the only extant copy of the Navajo Treaty of 1868 from June 1, 1998 to June 1, 1999. Dr. Evangeline Parsons-Yazzie (NAU Navajo Language Program) organized the Treaty display and project, with support from the Navajo Nation and National Archives and Records Administration.

DESPITE SIGNIFICANT ECONOMIC growth, South Asia remains notorious for its alarmingly high rates of undernutrition. This "Asian enigma" has long puzzled both researchers and policymakers. However, Nepal's recent experience presents yet another enigma: a rapid reduction in maternal and child undernutrition during a period of civil war and prolonged political and economic instability. From 1996 to 2011, the prevalence of stunting among children under two years of age fell from 48 to 27 percent, and the prevalence of maternal underweight decreased from 28 to 20 percent. ; PR ; IFPRI1; Transform Nutrition; compact2025; Stories of Change in Nutrition ; DGO; PHND; A4NH ; CGIAR Research Program on Agriculture for Nutrition and Health (A4NH)

This study aims to explain the punishment for criminal acts of corruption after the natural disaster in Lombok in 2018 and to find out the application of the law and judges' considerations in Decision Number 22/PID.SUS.TPK/2019/PN.Mtr. This research uses normative research and methods of collecting legal materials using literature studies using information sources in the form of legislation, court decisions, books, and legal journals related to this research. The results of the study show that the actions taken by the State Civil Apparatus who commit criminal acts of corruption in collecting natural disaster aid funds are applied in Article 12 letter e of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Corruption Crimes. This is because the elements in the Article have been fulfilled. However, the judge in this case handed down a decision on Article 11 of Law Number 20 of 2001 concerning the Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption regarding people who accept bribes, even though it can be seen that the actions of the defendants in this case led more to extortion of mosque administrators. In an Islamic criminal perspective, it shows that corruption is included in Jarimah takzir whose punishment can be in the form of imprisonment, verbal reprimand, death penalty, taking and confiscation of property and removal of office, all takzir punishments are determined by a judge who has the authority to assess the appropriate punishment. with the defendant's actions.

The article confronts postcolonial criticism with postcritique, a proposal by Rita Felski for a hermeneutic strategy aiming to overcome the limits of critique. Because of its self-reflexivity, its liaison with poststructuralism, and the societal categories it mobilizes, postcritics often see postcolonial criticism as a quintessential example of critique. However, postcolonial authors share similar concerns as postcritics, particularly when warning against any hasty conflation between intellectual work and political commitment. This article argues that the postcritical understanding of critique eschews the connection between critique and the realm of culture, thereby running the risk of doing away with context altogether. In order to account for the frameworks or contexts in which cultural objects are produced, without falling into some of the pitfalls of critique that postcritique aims to counter, the article proposes to look at the figure of the author as a bridge between the individual and the collective, as Edward Said suggests. The article closes with an analysis of several (critical and postcritical) readings of J. M. Coetzee's The Childhood of Jesus to provide an example of how authorship can enter the interpretive scene through the figure of 'late style'.

The author pulls no punches in his look at the shrinking format of the armed forces under the effects of technological demands and budget constraints. This process demands that choices and decisions be made calmly, and that the future shape of the integrated forces reflect the effort that the country wishes to expend on its defence -- and the country only has 20 billion euros to spend.
