Drowning is described as a public health challenge by the World Health Organization. This challenge faces the Philippines where drowning claims an average of 3276 lives annually (3.50/100,000 population). However, no research comprehensively documents prevention strategies implemented by government and non-government agencies at a national or local level in the Philippines. This study aimed to qualitatively explore the current situation and key challenges of preventing drowning in the Philippines through key informant interviews and make recommendations to guide prevention efforts. Interviews were conducted among government and non-government agencies involved in drowning prevention using purposive sampling. Qualitative data collected were thematically analyzed. Findings indicate government and non-government agencies implement drowning prevention programs or strategies based on the mandate of their institutions. Most commonly cited were activities related to education or information awareness, emergency and disaster preparedness, and swimming skills. It was revealed that each agency was relatively unaware of the drowning prevention programs of other agencies. A multisector approach is needed to develop coordinated and comprehensive programs and activities aimed at preventing drowning. In this way, duplication will be avoided and the minimal resources available will be used effectively to reduce the burden of drowning in the Philippines.

People with intellectual disability are accommodated and cared for in a variety of settings in Australia. Direct care is delivered by a mixture of qualified health professionals (nurses) and unlicenced disability support workers in varying combinations depending on the complexity and chronicity of comorbidities experienced by people with intellectual disability. Although some of these disability services continue to employ registered nurses, the size and specialised education of this workforce is decreasing due to a myriad of policy changes, which has the effect of compromising continuity of care and adverse effects on health outcomes. The objective of this study was to compare the differences on the financial cost of a single case using different models of care with, and without, specialised registered nursing input. The single case had profound intellectual disability and multiple chronic and complex health problems and was cared for by a model that included 24 h registered nurse care and support. Four financial scenarios are presented, and the differences both in terms of actual cost, and potential health outcomes are discussed. This study has set the scene for a large study where health economic data can be compared against multiple cases, across a range of care contexts, in order to advance evidence about which models provide the better health outcomes for people with intellectual disability and associated multiple chronic and complex health problems.
The Logistics Performance Index (LPI) of Indonesia shows minor improvement compared to neighbouring countries such as Singapore and Malaysia. The economic disparity between Indonesia's eastern and western regions has reportedly become one of the fundamental problems in the country. Consequently, an ambitious project on shipping connectivity improvement, namely the 'Sea-Toll', has been proclaimed by the Indonesian government to overcome this chronic problem. One of the most influential parameters for measuring the success rate of this project is cost efficiency. Therefore, this paper proposes a comparative approach by constructing a generalised cost model. It develops a measurement for transport costs that combines actual freight cost with the value of time attached to delivery activities concerning cargo types. Overall results study depend on the shipping network is described in terms of a current and future condition. This condition is because the factor of economies of scale has a significant influence in the combination of actual empirical data and extractions of regression approach with the function of vessel size. Finally, all scenarios show that there is a positive relationship with a convincing impact on efforts to save costs for domestic shipping routes after the implementation of the sea-Toll program.

This paper will review the process of developing two units of a coursebook that aimed to promote socialization and social change. Teaching perspectives on the Communicative Approach and Critical Literacy are reviewed, advocating the possibility of linking both perspectives. The methods of dealing with the receptive and productive skills and three language systems – grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation – are synthesized and reasons for supporting the choice of the activities in the units are given throughout the article. The results of this study suggest that the coursebook syllabus can bring together both the possibility of socialization, fostered by the Communicative Approach, and social change, encouraged by the Critical Literacy. Thus, coursebooks are important factors to promote students' active citizenship.

This paper employs a case study approach of the qualitative method to fit the objective of this study. The data were collected through interview, observation, and documentation. Concerning data analysis, the researchers did data reduction and data presentation and drew a conclusion or verification that is used for inter-case studies comparison. Besides, the researchers also make use of source and method of riangulation to validate the findings in the present paper. The results show that: 1. The concept of curriculum development of entrepreneurship education is located as a mandatory course, elective course, and extracurricular course. 2. The curriculum development of entrepreneurship education is implemented by hiring business team with highly qualified, realized, and developed business plan under supervision of the mentor during business practice. In addition, the university also facilitates potential funding and events hosting that enable students to meet prominent policymakers such as the government, private, industry, startup community, and consumers. 3. In the process of curriculum development of entrepreneurship education review, the quality assurance institution and the department did meticulous observation on entrepreneurship education course developed through intra-curricular activities. Other business institutions, units, or incubators administering entrepreneurship education program are also involved in supporting such review in the sense that they have fruitful experiences in the investigated case.
