AbstractA rising trend is that analysts bundle earnings forecasts for multiple firms on the same day, and such forecast bundling is associated with low‐quality forecasts. We explore target price bundling and recommendation bundling. Factors driving bundling revisions of an output for multiple firms vary across three outputs: forecasts, target prices, and recommendations. Target price (recommendation) revisions bundled for firms are less informative than stand‐alone revisions. Although consistency in the direction of revisions between different outputs is typically associated with higher perceived quality, consistent revisions between outputs are not associated with higher informativeness of revisions bundled for multiple firms.

It can be argued that nearly thirty years of heavily centralised intervention into English pedagogy, curriculum and assessment have had a deprofessionalising effect on teachers. The accountability stranglehold means it is safer for English teachers to implement accepted strategies that are perceived to enable pupils to negotiate assessment hurdles, rather than to take risks with their practice and teach English in a way that reflects their own beliefs and political ideas about the transformative power of the subject for children. History shows us that some of the most radical reformers of subject English harnessed their political ideals in their pursuit of a progressive pedagogy; is it possible now to adopt such an approach?

Spanning an international evidence base, this book traces the development of contemporary theory, policy and practice within the field of mental health. Drawing on snapshots from across the lifespan, it assesses the impact of issues such as gender and sexuality, and explores the range of global perspectives on mental ill health.

The study investigated the effectiveness of implanting a Self-Directed Learning (SDL) approach in teaching Biology to grade nine students. The research was conducted in Bhutan over the course of one year, utilizing a convergent parallel mixed method design. Data were meticulously collected from a diverse group of students and teachers. This comprehensive datasets were obtained through closed-ended survey questionnaires (32 students: Experimental Group), face-to-face semi-structured interviews (5 students, 1 Biology teacher), and Content Achievement Tests (64 students: both experimental and control group). For data analysis, quantitative data were subjected to descriptive and inferential statistical analyses using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) software version 22, while qualitative data were analyzed thematically.
The findings of this study unveiled three significant outcomes. The application of the self-directed learning approach demonstrated a substantial enhancement in students' performance in Biology compared to conventional lecture-based classroom instruction, with a mean difference of 1.81 and a P value of .02. Moreover, the marginal mean difference between post-test and delayed post-test results for the experimental group (mean difference = 0.06) indicated that self-directed learning positively impacted the knowledge retention of the learners. Gender-based analysis, however, revealed no statistically significant differences (P = .73). Thus, this study affirms that the self-directed learning approach had a positive medium effect size compared to conventional lecture-based methods, highlighting the effectiveness of the self-directed learning approach as a valuable strategy for achieving high-quality teaching outcomes and enhancing students' performance in learning Biology.

Climate Adaptation and Resilience Across Scales provides professionals with guidance on adapting the built environment to a changing climate. "This Transmedia Cultures Companion will show that Transmedia, and indeed Transmedia storytelling are fundamental to the human experience of being in the world and to creating the stories of who we are both as individuals and communities. Transmedia then is not just about the Star Wars or Harry Potter franchises or narratives that are exclusive to platforms and devices under the umbrella of New Media, but is anything that creates a believable, navigable space. As such this Companion will take a holistic approach broadening out the areas of everyday life that are implicated and entangled within Transmedia Cultures and world-building and the levels of engagement/immersion that they, purposely or otherwise, create. Of great importance within this are the ways in which Transmedia can facilitate or censor non-normative and individual identities both online or in terms of physical or economical access to technology. This volume then will not so much complicate the topic of Transmedia Cultures but reveal the ever increasing levels of entanglement it has within our real-lives and with those we experience in other more imaginative or creative ones bringing into focus exactly what is at stake in the 'worlds' we choose to call our own"--

While the South African legislation is an enabler for equity, inclusiveness, social justice and the advancement of women for academic leadership roles, institutional cultures and structures are often debilitating. This paper presents the development trajectory of a Black woman as an academic development leader in a South African University of Technology. It examines structural and cultural factors acting as enablers or constraints to leadership development and career advancement for Black women. It analyses dominant structural frames and undertakings of different University stakeholders (agents), which cause stagnation and resistance to morphogenesis and government's transformation agenda. Using Participatory Narrative Inquiry (PNI), I narrate personal experiences and insights as a participant researcher. I interrogate the experiences, observations and influence of various structural and cultural modalities within Margaret Archer's (1995) social realist framework of structure, culture and agency. People are today located in media ecosystems in which a variety of ICT devices and platforms coexist and complement each other to fulfil users' heterogeneous requirements. These multi-media affordances promote a highly hyperlinked and nomadic habit of digital data management which blurs the long-standing boundaries between information storage, sharing and exchange. Specifically, during the pervasive sharing and browsing of fragmentary digital information (e.g. photos, videos, online diaries, news articles) across various platforms, life experiences and knowledge involved are meanwhile classified and stored for future retrieval and collective memory construction. For international migrants who straddle different geographical and cultural contexts, management of various digital materials is particularly complicated as they have to be familiar with and appropriately navigate technological infrastructures of both home and host countries. Drawing on ethnographic observations of 40 Chinese migrant mothers in Singapore, this article delves into their quotidian routines of acquiring, storing, sharing and exchanging digital information across a range of ICT devices and platforms, as well as cultural and emotional implications of these mediated behaviours for their everyday life experiences. A multi-layer and multi-sited repertoire of 'life archiving' was identified among these migrant mothers in which they leave footprints of everyday life through a tactical combination of interactive sharing, pervasive tagging and backup storage of diverse digital content.

AbstractSince the 1979 Revolution, Iranian pilgrims have engaged in saint visitation (ziyarat) to sites in Syria. By travelling via Turkey on buses, and venerating Sayyida Zainab at their destination, these pilgrims disrupt conventional conceptions of not only Islamic ritual, but also Iranian mobility under sanctions. Their experiences venerating Sayyida Zainab – emerging out of a self‐described 'poverty of mobility' – demonstrate the utility of a more expansive conceptualization of ritual in anthropology. Instead of taking ritual for a scripturally canonized 'manual for' pious self‐cultivation, here I approach ziyarat as a traffic of pilgrims, goods, and ideas across Iran, Turkey, and Syria. This approach produces a dynamic and spatial conception of ziyarat as a ritual of mobility. Ethnographic attention to these pilgrims' politically conditioned and regionally networked spatial practices reveals that their movements are irreducible to ethical projects of cultivating piety alone. What is at stake in Iranian pilgrims' movements is nothing short of the extra‐religious conditions of religion – those of the economy and the polity. These stakes illuminate how religious practices interarticulate with political and social institutions – including bazaars, borders, and shrines – that remain understudied in recent anthropological scholarship on Islamic piety.
