Letter from C. P. Van Ness to Alden Partridge, 10 December 1824
Regarding the expenses of Decius Wadsworth; how is Israel D. Smith of Burlington doing? Apparently an offensive piece had been published in the "journal" and he suspects the son of John Johnson (Edwin F. Johnson) of Burlington of writing it; could be referring to "A journal of an excursion, made by the corps of cadets of the A.L.S. & M. Academy, Norwich, Vt. under command of Capt. A. Partridge, June, 1824," which was published after a pedestrian excursion. ; Transcription by Joseph Byrne. Transcriptions may be subject to error.
