Die Mitgliedstaaten sind nun gefordert, noch umfassendere Maßnahmen zur Verbesserung der Energieeffizienz , Umstellung auf erneuerbare Energien , Erhaltung der Biodiversität und Realisierung einer Kreislaufwirtschaft zu ergreifen. Dabei stehen sie vor Herausforderungen wie der praktischen Umsetzbarkeit, der Sicherung der Energieversorgung und der Bewältigung von Interessenkonflikten. Die 26. Österreichischen Umweltrechtstage haben sich diesen Themen gewidmet und das Recht der nachhaltigen Ressourcennutzung aus einer ökonomischen, sozial-ökologischen, verfassungs- und europarechtlichen sowie verwaltungsrechtlichen Perspektive bearbeitet. 'Social Work and the Arts' is a collection of writings that explores how expressive methods are used in social work education, practice, research, and community action. Edited by Shelley Cohen Konrad and Michal Sela-Amit, the book aims to answer the question: What do the arts offer social work education, research, and practice? This query is woven throughout the four sections of the book: first, on the various ways the arts are used in social work education; second, an examination of art-based social work research; third, a compilation of narratives by social workers who are artists in their own right; and finally, the future of the social work profession and its relationship to the arts.

Broad-based community organizing (BBCO) is perhaps the most widely used form of political participation supported by American religious institutions today. As organizing groups become more religiously diverse, however, so do the conceptions of sacred value that ground organizing in the first place. In today's political climate what we hold most dear, those sacred values such as human life, a land, or a natural resource may seem to only further entrench us in our enclaves and threaten the solidarity of any constituency. This book tells a different story. People organize to protect and fight for what they hold most dear. Using auto-ethnography from over a decade of interfaith BBCO experiences, Listening to the Spirit makes a case for the political role of sacred values in BBCO, especially as they show up in two organizing practices: the "listening campaign" and the "relational meeting."

A central debate among scholars of Marx concerns whether Marxism has a moral content or is totally 'amoral' - perhaps either because it embraces a strict economic determinism or because it nihilistically sides with the proletariat without offering any objective justification for that stance. Philosopher Vanessa Christina Wills argues that Marx does articulate an ethical perspective that is present throughout his writings, both the more obviously humanistic and philosophical early writings and his later, economic and more empirically-grounded studies such as Capital. The purposiveness of labour gives rise to a normativity already inherent in the present state of things, one that can guide us in knowing what sort of world we should build and that further, prepares us to build it.

In 'Intersectionality', philosopher Naomi Zack presents a novel philosophical account of intersectionality - the process by which people already oppressed, experience more oppression because of their intersecting identities. Based on her 2022 Phi Beta Kappa Romanell Lectures, Zack explores the meaning of intersectionality through analysis of current events and controversies including the #MeToo movement, class opportunities for minorities in higher education, and the COVID-19 pandemic.

'The Virtue of Loyalty' presents ten new academic essays on the topic of loyalty considered as a virtue, written by scholars from a variety of disciplines including philosophy, law, religious studies, empirical psychology, and child development. Many of the essays are concerned with the issue of whether loyalty is a virtue, and under what conditions. Others confront questions pertaining to the psychological traits and commitments that accompany or enable loyalty.

'Reluctant Race Men' traces a history of ethical, philosophical, political, religious, and scientific challenges that Black American reformers lodged against configurations of race across the long nineteenth century. It reconstructs a largely ignored reform tradition showing race as diverse practices that configure human difference, sameness, hierarchy, and consciousness.

Agbamu looks at a broad range of cultural documents to examine how the discourse of colonialism as 'the return of Rome' to land rightfully Italian was disseminated.

In 'Learning Without Lessons', David F. Lancy fills a rather large gap in the field of child development and education. Drawing on focused, empirical studies in cultural psychology, ethnographic accounts of childhood, and insights from archaeological studies, Lancy offers the first attempt to review the principles and practices for fostering learning in children that are found in small-scale, pre-industrial communities across the globe and through history. His analysis yields a consistent and coherent 'pedagogy' that can be contrasted sharply with the taken-for-granted pedagogy found in the West. The practices that are rare or absent from indigenous pedagogy include teachers, classrooms, lessons, verbal instruction, testing, grading, praise, and the use of symbols.
