The age-old problem of the relationship between government and society will take on a radically different quality and content in an era of global information and communication openness. A common problem of public authorities is its unpleasant appearance, indifference of citizens, lack of confidence and resistance to the implementation of decisions of government agencies. That is why the formation of a positive image of the civil service is extremely important and necessary for the government. The growing importance of public relations technologies and services in public administration is due to the process of forming new public relations in Uzbekistan. The need for public relations services arises at a certain stage in the development of civil society, with the emergence of its main institutions, the interaction of state and citizens. New public institutions are emerging that are increasingly dependent on public opinion and society's actions toward public authorities. To this end, this article discusses the issues of radical reform of the mechanism of public relations and the development of the information service of government agencies not only in the framework of "media relations", but also the full use of the potential of PR activities. The activity of the press service of the Navoi regional khokimiyat of the Republic of Uzbekistan as an object of scientific research is analyzed. Changes in the sector, the existing infrastructure in creating the image of government agencies and providing the population with information about the organization will be studied.

Integrating customary-religious values of an indigenous tribe "Suku Anak Dalam" (SAD) and state zoning system in Bukit Duabelas National Park (TNBD), Jambi, Indonesia is a configuration of an intersubjective relationship between government ecology and the religion of indigenous SAD in forest conservation that has not been studied by previous researchers. Hence, this article discusses that intersubjective relationship practice in preserving, maintaining, and protecting sustainable forest by assimilating the SAD's customary-religious values and the state zoning system. Moreover, this article also complements the shortcomings of previous researchers who believe that SAD's cosmology is animistic and proves that the TNBD zoning system's implementation as a cause of the SAD conflict. After conducting the interviews and the observations supported by relevant literature sources, this article shows that the SAD believes that the cosmos is not only inhabited by humans, but there are nonhuman beings such as animals and Badewo who are perceived as a human in which they are believed as social actors in forest conservation. SAD and nonhuman beings live together and contribute to each other and have a mutual relationship to life sustainability in the forest or so-called indigenous religion. Besides, the article also found that the TNBD zoning system is not the primary cause of the SAD conflict, rather the dynamics process in integrating state zoning and indigenous custom-religious spaces between the TNBD offices and the SAD.

This innovative new textbook seeks to provide undergraduate students of international relations with valuable and relevant historical context, bridging the gap and offering a genuinely interdisciplinary approach. Each chapter integrates both historical analysis and literature and applies this to an international relations context in an accessible fashion, allowing students to understand the historical context in which these core issues have developed. The book is organised thematically around the key issues in international relations such as war, peace, sovereignty, diplomacy, identity, political violence, empire and international organisations. Each chapter provides an overview of the main historical context, theories and literature in each area and applies this to the study of international relations. Providing a fresh approach, this work will be essential reading for all students of international relations and international relations theory.

WHEN ONE COMES TO LOOK AT THE LITERATURE ON CIVIL-MILITARY relations one is struck by the enormous proliferation ofad hocgeneralizations on the subject, particularly where the military in new nations is concerned. Many of these contradict each other. Often the theories are not adequate to the facts. And frequently they depend on so many other things being equal that by the time one has made all the necessary qualifications there is not much explanatory force left in the original hypothesis. The colonial legacy has on the one hand been said to create political armies in the image of those of the colonial power, which are less likely to interfere in politics.
This thesis is an analysis of Thailand's foreign policy under Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva (2008-2011). It examines Thai foreign policy towards Cambodia, Malaysia, and Myanmar in the context of political transition in Thailand. It seeks to answer the following research questions: Were there any aspects of the Abhisit administration's foreign policy that differed significantly from that of his predecessors? What were the major factors, both domestic and external, that impacted on Abhisit's foreign policy decision-making? In answering these two questions, this thesis uses neoclassical realism as a theoretical framework to analyse Abhisit's foreign policy. This thesis comprises three case studies: the conflict between Thailand and Cambodia over the Preah Vihear temple, Abhisit's Malaysia policy in relation to the separatist insurgency in southern Thailand, and Abhisit's policy towards democratisation in Myanmar. Through the analysis of the three case studies, this thesis concludes that throughout the Abhisit administration, despite rhetorical differences, continuity was the hallmark of Thailand's relationships with neighbouring countries. Furthermore, this thesis argues that Abhisit's foreign policy was largely influenced by domestic political considerations, rather than external factors. In other words, although external or international pressures were significant, they were not the primary determinants of Abhisit's foreign policy. Specifically, a prolonged confrontation between the pro- and anti-Thaksin forces, the persistence of the Thai military's influence on politics, the continued separatist violence in southern Thailand, and Thai economic interests in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Myanmar were the major factors influencing Abhisit's foreign policy decision-making. In terms of external factors, the competing nationalisms in the region, the political circumstances in Cambodia, Malaysia, and Myanmar, and the inherent weakness of ASEAN cohesion were the primary factors influencing relations between Thailand and its neighbouring countries.

A review essay on a book edited by Colin Elman & Miriam Fendius Elman, Bridges and Boundaries: Historians, Political Scientists, and the Study of International Relations (London: MIT Press, 2001). Focus is on the volume's expressed task of exploring the disciplinary divide between history & political science. Contributors of the book's first section investigate theoretical, methodological, & stylistic differences between the two fields of inquiry. The second part of the volume focuses on possible areas of commonality between the fields. However, the cases made for "bridges" are less compelling than the elucidations of "boundaries." Nor does the discussion of GB's 20th-century decline impart any new disciplinary insights regarding the historiography vs political science dispute. Despite consistently strong writing, the volume is ultimately hindered by two basic problems: (1) It advocates the reconciliation of history & political science without explicating what this synthesis might actually be or how it might function. (2) It neglects the equally important relationship between scholars of international & domestic politics & history. K. Coddon
