As a teaching that originates from revelation, Islam does not only speak in the orientation of aqidah and worship alone. More than that, Islam also discusses all scientific dimensions including good and efficient administrative models. The process of Islamization can take the form of a classical concept that is being tried again, or an offer for the future as a media solution in responding to the current government administration. A nation as large as the era of the Prophet Muhammad would not have survived if there were no solid and ideal government administration system. Likewise, in the time of the Bani Ummayah, the Abbasids, even the Ottoman era which carved the history of Islam as the largest and most respected group of its time. Once again, this glory could not have been achieved if the Islamic government at that time did not have the knowledge of qualified government administration. Administration is divided into two. (1) Administration in the strict sense is an administrative activity which includes the activities of note-taking, correspondence, bookkeeping and filing of letters as well as other matters intended to provide information and facilitate obtaining information back if needed. (2) Administration in the broad sense is the translation of the narrow meaning that includes the external function of the correspondence itself. Whether it is the background of the letter, the purpose of the letter, the benefits of the letter, the deadline of the letter, and so forth. On the scientific plane, administration has close significance with other scholars such as history, politics, social science, psychology, and even other applied sciences.

Amerika Serikat yang berideologi kapitalis merasa satu-satunya ideologi yang bermain dalam percaturan politik internasional. Amerika Serikat merasa tidak ada lagi ideologi yang dapat menghalangi kepentingannya kecuali Islam.Dalam situasi dunia saat ini masih diwarnai tantangan yang sangat besar, sebagian besar penduduk dunia masih dilanda kemiskinan, ketidakadilan, dan aneka macam penyakit HIV, bencana alam, dan kerusakan lingkungan hidup, seharusnya tanpa memandang perbedaan latar belakang budaya dan peradaban bersatu membantu dalam menanggulangi bencana secara bersama dan mengedepankan dialog yang harmonis dan terbuka antara dunia Islam dan Barat untuk menumbuhkan sikap saling memahami dan menghormati adanya perbedaan.
This paper intends to specifically want to reveal the value of education in the spirit of true jihad includes the struggle in all aspects of life. Radical Islam movement had been a parth of Islamic history since the emergence of Khawarij movement in about 37 AH. or 657/658 AD. This article tries to identify the genealogy of Islamic radicalism from Khawarij movement to Bali bombing by Imam Samudera abd his friends. By using the historical analysis method, this article focuses on their ideology that encouraged them to be martyr (syahid). As a result, I discovered that the radical movement they did was based on both political and textual understanding backgrounds. To minimize the power of those backgrounds, the article tries to formulate two approaches which is called 'moderate interpretation' and 'multiculturalism'. The first aproach is set to encounter scriptural and textual understanding in justifying a holy text, while the second is set to give an alternative view from political frame to cultural frame. Those aproaches are considered more significant to solve any scepticism among people about the ligitimacy of religion on culture of violence. The disappearance of the Sowjet- Union resulted in the loss of the image of an enemy, precondition for the construction and definition of the otherness of the "We". The lack of a collective threat was rapidly and systematically replaced by a new image of the enemy: Islam. The old – racist - orientalist characterization of the "genetic" inferiority of Semitic people was re-invented as the "cultural specificity" of "Islam", which became the new aggressive, irrational threat of Western culture and its "rational modernity". The invention of the "clash of civilizations" not only became constitutive for the construction of Western identity in the post cold-war world, it is used as well for legitimizing the demolition of the norms of international and humanitarian law. The "war on terrorism", justified as the struggle against the fanatic and irrational evil, consequently destroys the humanitarian principles on which civilization has been based since the Age of Enlightenment, provoking what it intends to combat: terrorism.

The aim of this dissertation is to analyse the development of political Islam in Indonesian politics by employing a social movement approach to study the political trajectory of Indonesia's oldest and largest Islamic student movement Himpunan Mahaswisa Islam (HMI), The Islamic Students Association. For the last 30 years, the alumni of HMI have risen to become the most influential political actors in Indonesian political life. However, unlike other Islamic organisations in Indonesia that have influence in the country's political life, there is a dearth of research in the extant literature on HMI and its domination of Indonesian politics. To carry out this research, a review of the development of the political thinking of the Kaum Santri, commonly translated as the 'Pious' Community of Indonesia, was first undertaken as it is from this community that HMI was spawned. This study is subsequently divided into a prism of three sections. In the first section, it is shown that as a socio-political community, the Kaum Santri, through its thinkers, organisations, politicians and public officials occupy the role of maintainers and developers of political Islam in Indonesia. So, the origins of Islamic political thinking in Indonesia, its subsequent inception and development by the Kaum Santri are discussed. The development of Islamic political thinking from a 'scripturalist' outlook to that of a 'substantialist' one and its affect on political Islam in Indonesia is addressed. In addition, due to its similarities, a comparison to the current development of political Islam in Turkey is analysed. The second section of this dissertation then examines how the legacy of Kaum Santri Islamic political thinking has influenced HMI and in turn HMI's influence on Indonesian politics.
