Al hablar de la historia de la arquitectura de América, la persistencia de una dualidad historiográfica entre variantes "dependendistas" (de diversas replicaciones o copias imperfectas de supuestas producciones "centrales") y "esencialistas" (o cultoras de una autonomía rayana en el autismo) estaría recomendando la necesidad de reflexionar creativamente, por una parte, respecto de la "historia de la historiografía" —o de las diversas posturas respecto de la historia de la arquitectura americana e incluso de posturas políticas e ideológico-culturales en general— y, por otra parte, respecto de realizar un recorrido de los diversos "estratos temporales" que se superponen para dar cuenta de dicha historia. Este ensayo, desde tal segundo cometido, recorre siete estaciones de una posible historia de la arquitectura americana, a encararse desde su propia especificidad antropológica, neocultural y política. ; When speaking of the history of architecture in America, there is a persistence of a historiographic duality between "dependendists" (of diverse replications or irregular copies of supposed "central" productions) and "essentialists" (with an almost autistic autonomy). On the one hand, it brings up the need to think of the history of historiography —or the positions that concern the history of American architecture and even cultural, political and ideological positions— and, on the other hand, the need to become aware of a route of the diverse historical steps that superimpose to give account of that history. This essay, from such second point of view, visits seven stages of a possible history of American architecture from its proper geo/cultural, anthropological and political specificity.

Am Beispiel neuester Entwicklungen im Bereich der Erinnerung- und Geschichtspolitik untersucht der Beitrag den gegenwärtigen Antisemitismus in Ungarn. Als allgemein verbreiteter wichtigster Typus des Antisemitismus in der Kultur Ungarns wird dabei die Täter-Opfer-Umkehr fokussiert, äußert sich doch der heutige Antisemitismus in Ungarn viel eher als Abneigung gegen symbolische "Juden―, d.h. Menschen, die einem antisemitischen Stereotyp entsprechen. Verhasst sind vor allem sozialistische, sozialdemokratische und liberale Politiker und Medienmenschen. Der Antisemitismus kann sogar als Zeichen einer Weltanschauung oder "Alltagsreligion― betrachtet werden, in der die Abneigung gegen "Juden - mit einer Abneigung gegen alle "Anderen― verbunden ist, denen man vorwirft, keine "echten - Zugehörigen der völkisch gedachten Nation zu sein. Dieser Logik entsprechend können neben Minderheiten, Linken und Liberalen z.B. auch demokratische Einrichtungen, eine demokratisch gewählte Regierung, ja selbst die Europäische Union, die Nato oder der IMF als Feindbilder herangezogen werden.

Aus den vielfältigen Film- und Fernsehproduktionen über die Zeit des Nationalsozialismus und den Holocaust speist sich ein mediales Gedächtnis, das prägend auf unsere Vorstellungen von der Vergangenheit zurückwirkt.Tobias Ebbrecht zeigt, dass neuere Filme über den Holocaust einem Verfahren der Nachbildung von früheren Filmen oder historischen Dokumenten über diese Ereignisse folgen. Dabei bilden sich Erzählmuster und Geschichtsbilder heraus, die vielfach wiederholt werden und sich dabei auch aus dem Kontext des Holocaust ablösen und in filmische Geschichtsfiktionen über den Nationalsozialismus einwandern.Die Analysen des Buches eröffnen neue Perspektiven sowohl für die wissenschaftliche Auseinandersetzung als auch für den Einsatz solcher Filme im Unterricht und in der Bildungsarbeit.

This paper advocates the introduction of the concept of intelligence in the Romanian language, in order to fill the current methodological gap. The need for a new concept emerged in the activity of Romanian intelligence services over a decade ago, when "intelligence" started to be used in parallel with "information" in external and internal missions.Our approach is focused on three dimensions, which we consider fundamental for our demarche: formulating a definition of intelligence, establishing its position in relation with other key-concepts from the cognitive field: data, information, intelligence and knowledge and underlining the differences between the four and finally making a brief presentation of the intelligence types, both in the military and intelligence field, and its extension to the business and academic sector in the last two or three decades.

»Hybridität« hat sich zu einem modischen Schlagwort entwickelt. Mit diesem Band erscheint international erstmalig eine umfassende Analyse der Kulturgeschichte dieses Begriffs. Ausgehend von einer Kritik der deutschsprachigen Rezeption arbeitet Kien Nghi Ha aus einer postkolonialen Perspektive die unterschiedlichen historischen Phasen und gesellschaftlichen Kontexte von der europäischen Antike über die koloniale Moderne bis zur Gegenwart auf. Gestützt auf eine breite Materiallage kann er zeigen, dass Hybridität als gesellschaftsdefinierende Frage der sozio-kulturellen Grenzüberschreitung und »Rassenvermischung« stets mit ambivalenten Formen der Rassifizierung, Hierarchisierung und Verwertung verbunden ist.

In the last decades, the rapid urban and outer-urban development along the Loire river has mostly occurred in floodplains – like for many other watercourses. In 1995, the French State implemented a prevention policy aiming at a better land use control in floodplains. The Loire catchment basin was used as a laboratory for this new method of flood risk management, which was then applied to the rest of French territory. The aim of this PhD thesis is to analyse the territorialization processes of the flood risk prevention policy in middle Loire valley. Studying the conflicts opposing the State and the local administration enables us to highlight the flood risk social construction, as well as its geopolitical dimension. We then focus on the mechanisms and the actors of the risk acceptability construction, which leads to emphasizing the central role of the local administration. Finally, we attempt to understand why and how the flood risk prevention can be a way to transform territorial organization. Integration of the flood risk in local strategies of territorial planning and development, which is today necessary for less vulnerable and more resilient territories to emerge, remains nevertheless very uneven. ; Le long de la Loire – comme de nombre d'autres cours d'eau – le rapide développement urbain et périurbain des dernières décennies s'est largement effectué en zone inondable, dans le lit majeur du fleuve. L'Etat a défini en 1995 une politique préventive visant à mieux contrôler l'usage des sols en zone inondable. Le bassin de la Loire a constitué un laboratoire de ce nouveau mode de gestion du risque d'inondation, qui s'est ensuite généralisé au reste du territoire français. L'objet de cette thèse est ainsi d'analyser les processus de territorialisation de la politique publique de prévention du risque d'inondation sur le cours moyen de la Loire. L'étude des conflits qui ont opposé l'Etat aux collectivités locales permet de mettre en lumière la construction sociale du risque d'inondation, tout comme sa dimension géopolitique. Nous nous attachons ensuite à la compréhension des mécanismes et des acteurs de la construction de l'acceptabilité du risque et montrons l'importance centrale à cet égard des collectivités locales. Enfin, nous tentons de comprendre pourquoi et comment la prévention du risque d'inondation peut contribuer à recomposer les territoires. L'intégration du risque d'inondation aux stratégies locales d'aménagement et de développement, qui fait aujourd'hui figure d'impératif pour faire émerger des territoires moins vulnérables et plus résilients, demeure néanmoins très inégale.

Über Jahrhunderte wurde unbefangen über Behinderungen gelacht. Erst im 18. Jahrhundert kommt es zu Einschränkungen und Verboten dieses Lachens. Bis Mitte der 1970er Jahre ist nicht Komik, sondern Mitleid prägend für den Umgang mit Behinderung. Heute ist es in bestimmten Kontexten, etwa Witzen und Cartoons, wieder erlaubt, sich über körperliche und kognitive Abweichungen zu amüsieren.Welche komischen Darstellungen von Behinderung sind für verschiedene Zeiten charakteristisch? Wie werden Lachanlässe und Lachverbote begründet? Anhand zahlreicher Quellen erforscht Claudia Gottwald komische Repräsentationen und ihre Diskurse und leistet damit einen Beitrag, die Kontingenz von Behinderung zu beleuchten.

»Postkoloniale Traditionen« verbindet die Ansätze der postkolonialen Theorie und der Subaltern Studies mit einer modernen Ethnografie des ländlichen Südindiens. Dabei wird ein südindisches Dorf als ein Ort der Realisierung einer alternativen nicht-westlichen Moderne beschrieben. Zwei Merkmale der indischen Moderne werden herausgearbeitet: ihre Postkolonialität - das allgegenwärtige Erbe des Kolonialismus - und ihre Traditionalität - ihre Verhandlung in nicht-westlichen Idiomen. Die postkoloniale Moderne wird in dieser Dorfmonografie auf mikro- und infrapolitische Prozesse bezogen und somit einer ethnografischen Repräsentation zugänglich gemacht.

Was bedeutet das Trauma des Genozids von 1915 für Armenier in Griechenland heute? Welche Rolle spielt es für Identität und Gemeinschaft in der Diaspora? Die vorliegende Ethnographie untersucht die komplexen Prozesse von Identitäts- und Gemeinschaftsbildung bei Menschen in der Diaspora am Beispiel öffentlicher Rituale und privater Erinnerungsarbeit der armenischen Minderheit Griechenlands. Sie liefert damit einen empirischen Beitrag zu einer Theorie von Diaspora und zur ethnologischen Erforschung kollektiver Traumata. Das Buch verbindet aktuelle Diskussionen zur Bedeutung von Transnationalität und Lokalität für Identitäten in der Diaspora mit Fragen nach dem Verhältnis von kollektiven und individuellen Erinnerungsprozessen an gewaltsame Ereignisse.
