PR3D (Route planning tool with recharge and distributed replanning) is a project funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). This project approach the problem of the distribution of goods, where the scientific community has devoted much effort to the resolution of theoretical problems of node coverage, which has led to very complex and highly specialized algorithms that solve the theoretical problem very well for which have been designed, but are not applicable to real problems, both because they are not adaptable to real constraints and because of their response time and technological infrastructure requirements. HELPSALUD (Research in Machine Learning techniques applied to real problems in the Health sector) is a project funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). The general objective of the project is to advance in the digitization of the health sector through the application of Artificial Intelligence techniques, such as Machine Learning and Pattern Recognition, to the early diagnosis of breast cancer, the noninvasive detection of endometriosis and the prediction of the effects of leukaemia treatment for personalized treatment. With the application of these techniques and the combination of different sources of information, software solutions will be developed to help the clinical staff in the decision-making process, allowing cost savings and improvement of the health service. Understanding the role of fish culture enterprises in our economy is critical for designing agricultural policies to increase productivity and enhance economic growth and to reduce poverty. The research investigated profit analysis of culture fish enterprises in Ikenne Local Area of Ogun State, Nigeria. This was achieved through random selection of 100 respondents. The method of analysis used was descriptive analysis to determine the socio economic characteristics of the fish farmers; budgetary analysis and profitability ratios was applied to examine profit level of the fish farmers. The results showed that 46% were men and 54% were women. Majority of the respondents (52%) were married and 48% were in the single category. It also revealed that farmers had at least primary education. 62% of the respondents had about less than 5 years experiences in the business, majority of farmers started their business with their own personal savings. The budgetary analysis shows that the gross margin of N50, 153,780 (125,384.45. Dollars) of the farmers and a net farm income of N49, 632, 580 (124,081.45. Dollars) of the respondents, which indicates that fish farming is profitable to the farmers in the study area. It was concluded that the venture is profitable to farmers, and it was recommended that young people mostly male should be encouraged to practice fish farming, and also involve in carrying out research on fish farming as this may help in solving the problem of food security and food sufficiency.

The State of Electricity Access Report, 2017, aims to prompt governments, donors, the private sector, civil society organizations, and practitioners to develop interventions to close the electricity access gap by integrating lessons learned with insights drawn from emerging innovative business and delivery models. The Report is organized around five main questions: Why is electricity access critical for achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development? What is the status of electricity access? What are the challenges and drivers of transformative electricity access? Why is it important to explore synergies between access, renewables, and energy efficiency? What are the emerging and innovative business and delivery models? The key findings are that urgent measures are needed to speed up access to modern energy services or there will still be several countries in 2030, mostly in Sub-Saharan Africa, with a significant percentage of the population going without electricity. Both grid and off-grid approaches will be critical, but they will have to be supported by a conducive enabling environment of the right institutions, policies, strategic planning, regulations, and incentives. The good news is that lower costs for renewable energy technologies, adequate energy efficiency measures, and innovation should make it possible for countries to be creative in meeting this challenge. There is also a growing role for the private sector to finance interventions, assuming the incentives are in place for investors to earn returns on their investments.

This report is based on the internship activities performed at Umbelino Monteiro SA, to finish my International Business Master. The internship allowed me to have contact with the business reality. I have developed tasks in a period of approximately six months in the financial and commercial areas. All the activities and procedures used will be explained is this report. One of the activities that consumes most of the time and in which I tried to support the company, is related with credit management. Credit management is not a new theme, but is still relevant to each firm as it allows to reduce their risk. At Umbelino this relevance is not an exception, due to the higher number of customers from different countries. With the crisis of 2007/2008, Umbelino, like many firms, began to experience great difficulties regarding the receipt of customer's credit. Several firms went bankrupt, leaving other companies in trouble and creating a snowball, which resulted in credit problems in most companies. For this reason, credit management theme is addressed in this paper. Moreover, the specific case of the company in question is analyzed, and some suggestions for improvement are presented. Umbelino uses monthly analyzes and credit insurance, in order to minimize the risk assumed. Although the firm lacks sufficient human resources to devote more to this issue and to use all the tools that the company already has available.

Challenges for human resource management (HRM), such as increased number of work-related illnesses or aging society, require from organizations to rethink the way how people are managed. The most appropriated way relies on the sustainability concept as the axis of sustainability is resource preservation, reproduction and regeneration. The sustainable HRM is designed for enhancing organization's profit, minimizing "ecological footprint" and reducing the harm on employees. However, the employment of sustainable HRM in daily organization's life is still challenging and calls businesses to search for new pathways. The paper argues that smart power (the concept mostly used in political science) could be used for contributing to sustainable HRM field. The paper describes smart power (soft and hard power) and elaborates how smart power could be applied in business context and in the area of sustainable HRM. The paper provides initial insights on power utilization in human resource development, human resource regeneration and human resource preservation practices. The theoretical findings provide some examples how soft and hard power could be used for career management, training programmes for sustainability capacities, and keeping the workforce fit. The use of smart power for work-life balance, management of employees' relations, and stress management is described. In the future, the research area could be expanded by empirically testing theoretical insights and contributing to extremely relevant topic - the use of smart power for employing the sustainable HRM practices.

AIP3 (Integrating Application for Production Planning and Scheduling) is a project funded by the Valencian Institute for Business Competitiveness (IVACE) and the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER). The goal of the present project is the development of a set of functionalities to achieve an advanced and more integrated management of the production planning and scheduling, with the objective that companies, more specifically SMEs, could integrate these processes easily in their supply chain. The provided functionalities enable dealing with the great complexity of the productive processes and the huge amount of data to be collected, as well as overcoming the difficulty of integrating with existing systems. peer-reviewed ; Purpose: This paper presents an exploratory study of speaking up in international auditing firms. We examine two key questions: (i) what is the propensity of employees in training to speak up on workplace problems and (ii) how would management react to employees in training speaking up on workplace problems? Design: We compare and contrast the views of employees on training contracts with management, including partners. Semi-structured interviews were carried out with 8 managers/partners and 20 employees working in 6 large auditing firms in Ireland. Findings: We find that employees on training contracts have a high propensity to remain silent on workplace problems. Quiescent and acquiescent forms of silence were evident. Management expressed willingness to act on employee voice on workplace problems concerning business improvements and employee performance but were very resistant to voice in regard to a change in working conditions or a managers performance. Employees and management couched employee voice in terms of technical knowledge exchange rather than being associated with employee dissatisfaction or having a say in decision making. Originality: We highlight how new professional employees are socialised into understanding that employee voice is not a democratic right and the paper provides insight on the important role of partners as owner/managers in perpetuating employee silence. Previous research on owner/managers has tended to focus on small businesses while the auditing firms in this study have large numbers of employees. ; ACCEPTED ; peer-reviewed

In Malaysia, particularly in Sabah, the government has been promoting entrepreneurship among rural people to encourage them to earn their living by making good use of the diverse natural resources and local cultures of Sabah. Nevertheless, despite the government's aim to encourage more local community in rural area to involve in entrepreneurship, the involvement of community in entrepreneurial activity is still low. It is crucial to identify the factors stimulate (or prevent) the involvement of rural community in Sabah in entrepreneurial activity. Therefore, this study tries to investigate the personal and contextual factors that may have impact on decision to start a business among the local community in Mantanani Island. In addition, this study also aims to identify the perceived benefits they receive from entrepreneurial activity. A structured face-to-face interview was conducted with 61 local communities in Mantanani Island. Data analysis revealed that passion, personal skills and self-confidence are the significant internal factors to entrepreneurial activity, whereas access to finance, labour and infrastructure are the significant external factors that are found to influence entrepreneurship. In terms of perceived rewards they received from taking up small business, it was found that respondents are predominantly agreed that entrepreneurship offers financial benefit than non-financial. In addition, this study also offers several suggestions for entrepreneurship development in Mantanani Island and it is hoped that this study may help the related agency to develop effective support policies in order to encourage more people in rural area to involve in entrepreneurship.

The taxation of multinational companies has been attracting a great deal of attention recent years. Company tax-planning and country tax-competition have increasingly been questioned, by the general public, media, in politics and academia. Countries compete for investment, reducing tax burdens on profits. Multinationals respond, shifting profit for tax purposes to low-tax jurisdictions by legally arranging their business affairs in a certain way to optimize their effective corporation tax burdens. Globalization speeds-up matters. The company taxation models that countries apply today originated in the 1920s. These models were of course designed to cater for interbellum societal, political, economic and business realities, and hence no longer seem 'fit-for-purpose' in today's globalized market place. Corporate tax systems are antique and, now, are failing it seems, pressurizing fiscal systems in consequence. The OECD has estimated annually missed corporate tax revenues at a staggering ¼ of a trillion US dollars. To balance budgets countries resorted to raising tax burdens on consumption and labour. Economic and financial crises we now seem to have just overcome have exacerbated matters, affecting societal trust in the integrity of the tax system. The general public considers it unfair if tax bill increases are not addressed to multinationals, but to their workers and customers instead. It is often heard that moral obligations to finance expenditure equally apply to multinationals.

Copyright is a creation created by the creator in a tangible form by not reducing restrictions in accordance with the provisions of legislation. Copyright applies in all areas of life one of which is the art of music. Songs that have been registered must get Royalties if they are to be used for commercial purposes, the only other who often violates is a commercial karaoke business in royalty payments. The method used in this study is the empirical law whose purpose gives a description of the provisions in the effort to withdraw royalties for commercial business Karaoke Penarikan Royalti adalah pemanfaatan atas hak ekonomi suatu ciptaan yang terkait diterimanya oleh pencipta atau pemegang hak cipta. [EN] Food supply in Europe is based on the consumption of meat ¿ of which pork is the most consumed. The livestock sector represents some 40% of total agricultural production. Livestock farms need tools for business management and valuation in order to make business productivity estimates and determine compensation, as well as calculate average and marginal costs. Pig farmers need to determine the optimal time for culling a sow: meaning that for livestock depreciation it is necessary to determine the value of sows depending on their age. In this study, a model is shown for valuing a sow according to its productive life and net present value generated. In the same way as any asset in a production process, the economic value of a sow should be estimated by its contribution to the process of generating future profits. The distribution of costs depends on the size of the farm, and so three sizes of farms are considered: fewer than 250 hybrid sows; 251 to 500 sows; and more than 500 sows. The economic values of the sows were obtained according to their age and number of farrowing.
