The project sought to look into the role of the Community vocational training centers in the wider socio-economic empowerment of women. It aimed to find out the effects of skills training on social-economic empowerment of women, examine the impact of Technical and Vocational Education and Training on social-economic empowerment of women and explore ways of improving the performance of Technical and Vocational Education and Training on social-economic empowerment of women. The study adopted a quantitative descriptive and explanatory design. This way the detailed description comes before the final explanation. The study primarily depended on questionnaires to get study data. Findings indicate that indeed vocational training can enable women to create employment opportunities and give them access to the job market. The findings identified equal pay, access to education (including vocational training), Gender equality in the workplace, respect for human rights and non-discrimination, and gender-sensitive recruitment as factors that TVETs use to reduce discrimination and improve women's quality of life. Vocational training centers are still subject to negative perceptions where people think that they are "lesser" institutions. The vocational centers need to shed the label that they are for failures, that they are lesser institutions, and that they are not prestigious enough. Improvement can also come through advocacy. Overall, the study ascertained that vocational training provides positive outcomes especially in the lives of women and girls. They get to enjoy increased wages, employment mobility, employment opportunities, entrepreneurship and social transformation. Therefore, there should be an increase in the number of vocational centers.

This study aims to shed light on the phenomenon of populism and its importance in terms of its transformation into an ideology, and to study its manifestations and spread in democratic and non-democratic societies. The study examines the roots and reasons for the return of populism to modern political life.
Populism is a process of building political opinions and critical intellectual orientations among the general public. This phenomenon is often transformed into ideologically packed mass beliefs with the aim of gaining power.
Populism appeared in the nineteenth century, and the actual interest in studying it emerged more in the twentieth century, following the rise of political currents and parties in Europe, especially the nationalist and extreme right-wing parties. It came as a means of expressing a political ideology that combines the policies of extremist Right and its rhetoric, through major events such as the US elections, which were the cause of the rise of Donald Trump and the rhetoric of the far-right populist, as well as the exit of Britain from the European Union in protest against the increasing flow of immigration coming from the Middle East and North Africa and increasing suspicions. European countries, and dissatisfaction with the economic policies of the European Union created a large gap within societies, and greatly affected the political, economic and social future of these countries.

The logic of nation-state building in the context of modernity is inextricably bound to the founding of politics -- both as conceptual & practical possibility -- on the basis of a binary dissociation of the public from the private, of rights from needs, of reason from passion. Thus, politics in its modern sense becomes tied to a secularized theological-political notion of responsibility. Further, such binary concepts are implicated in those temporal & spatial metaphors that naturalize the spheres of family & civil society, & distinguish them from the sphere of politics. These distinct spheres are essential to the construction of modern rational subjectivities & liberal citizenship. Here, with focus on the case of Iran, the notion of the "civic body" is introduced in an attempt to bring clearly into view the connection between sexed corporeality, cultural nationalism, & gendered citizenship. Through a theoretical examination of the "civic body" as both a site of political citizenship & a field of racial & sexual codification & recodification, such historical & discursive constructions as modernity, Westernization, "Westoxication," Orientalism, universalization, particularlism, masculinity, & femininity will be brought into the nexus of analysis. Oggetto della ricerca è lo studio del National Institute of Design (NID), progettato da Gautam Sarabhai e sua sorella Gira, ad Ahmedabad, assunta a paradigma del nuovo corso della politica che il Primo Ministro Nehru espresse nei primi decenni del governo postcoloniale. Obiettivo della tesi è di analizzare il fenomeno che unisce modernità e tradizione in architettura. La modernità indiana, infatti, nacque e si sviluppò con i caratteri di un Giano bifronte: da un lato, la politica del Primo Ministro Nehru favorì lo sviluppo dell'industria e della scienza; dall'altro, la visione di Gandhi mirava alla riscoperta del locale, delle tradizioni e dell'artigianato. Questi orientamenti influenzarono l'architettura postcoloniale. Negli anni '50 e '60 Ahmedabad divenne la culla dell'architettura moderna indiana. Kanvinde, i Sarabhai, Correa, Doshi, Raje trovarono qui le condizioni per costruire la propria identità come progettisti e come intellettuali. My aim is to analyze the phenomenon that blends modernity and tradition in architecture as an expression of the new politics that the Prime Minister Nehru advocated in his leadership after Independence. Indian modernity emerged as a double faced Janus: on the one hand the Prime Minister Nehru promoted a widespread modernization fostering industrial, scientific and technological development; on the other hand Gandhi's ideas aimed to rediscover the local, ancient tradition, crafts and rural life. These orientations shaped postcolonial architecture. The focus is on Ahmedabad, the city which was greatest architectural upheaval, where young Indian architects (Kanvinde, Sarabhai, Correa, Doshi, Raje, Kapadia) could confront themselves with Western modern masters - among them Le Corbusier and Kahn - searching for their own architectural identity. The engines of such great upheaval were two: enlighten clients eager to transform the society and modernize their city; the presence of modern masters, who came to Ahmedabad from 1951, invited from the same customers to design buildings for the city. A new direction for Indian architecture was evident right in Ahmedabad. A city where both the visions for a modern India strongly tackled. The biggest effort of Indian architects was the attempt to reconcile these two aspects, the ones which came from international influences and the ones which arose from the spirit of tradition. NID is one of the best example of this search for a synthesis: it shows Wright, Le Corbusier, Eames, Kahn's legacy but also echoes from Indian architecture such as the pavilion structure, the square grid, open spaces and a perfect merge between nature and architecture.

Generating employees' altruistic behaviors toward green activities is important. We sought to understand what factors influence green organizational citizenship behavior of employees in the restaurant industry in Taiwan by examining the relationships among green human resource management
practices, employee commitment toward the environment, and green organizational citizenship behaviors. We used convenience sampling to collect data from 512 frontline staff of restaurant chains in Taiwan. Structural equation modeling was conducted to test our hypotheses, and the results show
that five green human resource management practices were positively related to employee commitment toward the environment, which, in turn, positively affected green organizational citizenship behavior. Managers of restaurants can adopt this understanding of the relationships of green human
resource management practices with employees' commitment toward the environment and green citizenship behavior.

Evidence-based policy making presents challenges for researchers as the pragmatic imperative of delivering `the right information, at the right time, for the right people' can appear to compromise traditional academic roles and responsibilities. Using the recent evaluation of the UK Cabinet Office-led `Better Government for Older People' programme as a case study, we discuss attempts to meet these challenges in practice. Our experience confirms that there has been a shift from the assumption of rational models (i.e. that evidence will be used as part of a linear planning process) to a more `realistic' perspective in which evidence from research requires advocates to promote its potential contribution. In turn, this suggests that it is in the interest of the research community to try to understand the policy-making process, and so design, undertake and disseminate their research in a way that maximizes the likelihood of its use in actively contributing to policy development.
