Die Studie beabsichtigt, Erscheinungsformen, Bedingungen und Zusammenhänge der Entwicklung und Erziehung von 16-18 jährigen Jugendlichen zu ermitteln, die in einem zweijährigen Studium an der ABF "Walter Ulbricht" in Halle auf ein Studium im sozialistischen Ausland vorbereitet werden. Es werden die Ergebnisse einer schriftlichen Befragung, eines Wochenprotokolls und eines Lebenstiltests (im November 1968) von 360 ABF-Studenten des ersten Studienjahres dargestellt und abschließend Schlußfolgerungen gezogen für die Verbesserung der staatlichen Leitungstätigkeit und der Führung der FDJ-Studenten durch die FDJ-Leitungen. Im wesentlichen wurden folgende Einstellungen befragt: (1) politisch-ideologische (Klassenmäßige Positionen und politische Grundeinstellung, zur Politik und gesellschaftlichen Aktivität); (2) zum Studium und Lehrkörper (Studienmotivation, zu Arbeit und Beruf, zur Berufstätigkeit der Frau); (3) zu Massenkommunikationsmitteln und (4) zu Mikrogruppen (Freundeskreis, Familie, FDJ-Mitgliederversammlungen, Freizeit, zu sexuellen Beziehungen und zum täglichen Zeitfond der Studenten). Es wird u.a. festgestellt, daß die Studenten ein relativ einheitliches zielanstrebendes Verhalten und gleichwertige Verhaltensbereitschaft im Sinne der sozialistischen Verhaltensnormen zeigen. (SM)

Religion and sexual experience are deemed sensitive topics to research. I aim to elucidate how I used hairdressing as an activity during qualitative interviews to aid in researching the relationship between religious-cultural upbringing and women's sexual experiences in Northern Ireland. There has been little recognition of the subjective sexual experiences of adult women in Northern Ireland; this is partly due to the dominance of Roman Catholicism and Evangelical Fundamentalism's religious practices in the country and their promotion of morally conservative ideas around women's bodies and sexual activity. This, in turn, has allowed a moral, religious perspective on sexual activity to have a high level of significance for the individual in Northern Ireland and society, making it challenging to research. I will explore how "doing hair" during qualitative interviews can help to combat issues associated with researching sensitive topics using GOFFMAN's (1956) dramaturgical analysis and HOCHSCHILD's (1983) emotional labor concept. I argue that utilizing the routine performances between the hairdresser and client and "flipping the script" on the researcher/participant vs. hairdresser/client power relations can aid in the disclosure of the socially and culturally sensitive topics of religion and sexual experiences.

Wie werden Lehrer*innen auf sexualpädagogische Herausforderungen in der Schule vorbereitet? Welcher Stellenwert kommt dabei Lustfreundlichkeit, sexueller Vielfalt, Gewaltprävention und Antidiskriminierung zu? In ihrer soziografischen Studie untersucht die Autorin sexualpädagogische Aus- und Fortbildungsveranstaltungen von Pädagogischen Hochschulen, Fachstellen und Universitäten in Österreich. Anhand einer kritischen Analyse sexualpädagogischer Praktiken lotet sie Möglichkeitsräume emanzipatorisch orientierter sexueller Bildung aus und entwickelt dazu praxisnahe Vorschläge für Schulen und Lehrer*innenbildung.

Donna Ekart is a 53-year-old queer, femme woman living in Portland, Maine. Ekart grew up in Manhattan, Kansas surrounded by both her immediate and extended family. Ekart moved to Portland, Maine with her wife when she was in her mid-forties. Ekart came out as queer to her friends and family when she was 40-years-old. She has been involved in LGBTQ+ organizations including Equality Maine, which is Maine's biggest queer organization whose aim is to secure full equality for the LGBTQ+ community in Maine through political action, community organizing, education, and collaboration. Ekart's religious identity and relationship with the Catholic Church played a big role in shaping who she is today. Although Ekart has faced challenges both within and outside the queer community with feeling invisible as a queer femme woman, the acceptance and support she received when she came out as queer to her Midwestern family is a heart-warming and rare story for someone born in the late 1960's. Ein, zwei, drei oder vier Elternteile, "Sponkel", "Mapas" und lesbische Zeugungsakte - wer oder was Familie ist und wie sie gegründet wird, hat sich vervielfältigt. Die Autorin rekonstruiert aus einer von den Feminist Science and Technology Studies inspirierten, queertheoretischen Perspektive, wie lesbische und queere Frauen*paare, die mittels Samenspende Eltern geworden sind, Familie, Verwandtschaft und Geschlecht imaginieren und praktizieren. Damit wirft sie einen heteronormativitätskritischen Blick auf die sozialwissenschaftliche Familienforschung sowie auf gesellschaftliche und rechtliche Entwicklungen, die neue Ein- und Ausschlüsse queerer familialer Lebensweisen mit sich bringen.

This narrative is about dissociation in the lives of women who have been exploited through prostitution. When we speak about prostitution, we do not speak often enough about the dissociation needed for women and girls to survive sexual exploitation. The author challenges the wisdom of governments such as Germany that legalize prostitution, treating it as a "job" and ignoring the violence and subsequent dissociation in women. The author describes her personal journey, explaining how women are traumatized even after the first commercial sex act, which is a sexual assault. They dissociate which makes their lives bearable, but they fail to see its negative effects that continue even after they leave prostitution. Finally, the author relates her personal breakthrough experience to end her dissociation while she was caring for horses. This realization allowed her to identify and connect to her own feelings and to be her authentic self.

This article explores how concern about animal welfare and animal rights relates to ecological citizenship by discussing student assignments written about the Dutch Party for Animals or PvdD. 'Animal welfare', 'animal rights', and 'ecological citizenship' perspectives offer insights into strategic choices of eco-representatives and animal rights/welfare advocates as well as educators. The assignments balance animal issues with socio-economic ones, explore the relationship between sustainability and ethics, and attribute responsibility for unsustainable or unethical practices. Analysis of student assignments reveals nuanced positions on the anthropocentrism-ecocentrism continuum, showing students' ability to critically rethink their place within larger environmental systems. Some students demonstrated compassion for nonhumans, indicating that biophilia is evenly distributed among different groups of students. This article finds that fostering pro-environmentalism and animal welfare or rights requires the deepening of the debate contesting but also connecting key issues in sustainability and ethics. This analysis can be valuable for political parties representing nonhumans, or for education practitioners in getting students to think about the challenges in human-environment relationships and for advancing support for ecodemocracy.

Despite the writings of feminist thinkers and efforts of other advocates of feminism to change the dominant narratives on women, exploitation of women is a fact that has remained endemic in various parts of the world, and particularly in Africa. Nigeria is one of those countries in Africa where women are largely exposed to varying degrees of exploitation. This paper examines the development and proliferation of baby-selling centers in southern Nigeria and its impacts on and implication for women in Nigeria. It demonstrates how an attempt to give protection to unwed pregnant girls has metamorphosed into "baby harvesting" and selling through the notorious "baby factories," where young women are held captive and used like industrial machines for baby production. The babies produced through this process were often sold illegally to adoptive parent(s) in dire need of them. In some other instances, they were used for child labour or trafficked for prostitution, ritual purposes, or organ harvesting. The paper argues that the hideous phenomenon of baby factories—which has high patronage in southern parts of Nigeria—does not only exploit and debase the status of women, but that the nature of its operation foreshadows a future danger for women in southern Nigeria regions.

When women involved in prostitution experience multiple and intersecting needs, they may face barriers in accessing help and support. These barriers can include geographical location and opening hours of agencies, limited childcare support, and a lack of female-only provision. As a result, women are frequently disadvantaged, and their personal safety put at risk, as they become increasingly vulnerable to exploitation, particularly if they do not have access to secure accommodation. This research project seeks to understand the choices and decisions women make when they engage with helping services. The findings report on an in-depth qualitative study with 11 women involved in, or at risk of involvement in, prostitution. The women attended a third sector drop-in centre in an English city. Semi-structured interviews were used to understand the experiences that led participants to seek support and what they liked or did not like about helping services. Interviews were transcribed and analysed using Bacchi's (1999) 'What is the problem?' approach in order to understand how women framed their experiences, as well as how they negotiated service provision. Women's decisions to use services were shaped by a number of factors, including knowledge, availability, suitability, and assessment of caregivers' behaviour. The way caregivers behaved was important in determining whether they could be trusted. A dissonance emerged between the framing of women's needs by policy and services, and women's lived experiences. This mismatch led to a complex network of support services that were both difficult for women to access and often failed to meet their needs. It is vital that social care services and training providers pay attention to the interactions between caregivers and women seeking help and support. A model is presented to reflect the decisions and choices made by women when seeking help and support, and the associated responses required by policy, service commissioners and providers.

There recently was a highly emotional debate in Germany regarding what to teach children about sexual plurality; different actors accuse each other of wrongful indoctrination. This paper presents a computational model based on the results of the SINUS youth study 2016 indicating that the dynamics of adolescents finding their own stance towards sexual plurality are resilient towards external pressure by clerical or government activities. Instead, civil society plays a strong role in the process of children developing their own opinions. This underlines that values in society can be reproduced between generations.
