This book examines the next steps and new frontiers in social justice multicultural psychology and counseling. It addresses how culturally responsive psychology and counseling can effectively ameliorate issues of oppression, racism, intolerance, discrimination, and human rights violations by alleviating the injustices encountered by individuals, groups, and communities. The book challenges readers to undergo an in-depth examination of the reasons for doing social justice work. It further discusses barriers that prevent readers from doing social advocacy and offers new and unique ideas, concepts, and perspectives for culturally responsive social justice-oriented theory, practice, and training.
"This book indicates the shortcomings of the current international legal system and customary international norms that govern international aviation law to comply with contemporary air transport market realities. As the air transport market develops globally, the safety regime of civil aviation should also be governed and applied globally. In this book, the author departs from current international legal norms to examine the emerging legal field of global administrative law. Through that lens, the possibility of reconstructing the set of legal mechanisms that govern domestic and international administrative interaction in the global field of aviation safety is explored. This book demonstrates that a legal system is never complete but always develops in tandem with changing needs, i.e. the participation of the affected parties. Exploring the principles of GAL theory contributes to addressing the contemporary legal issues relating to state compliance with international aviation safety standards that would otherwise not be covered by customary international law. In particular, the principles of GAL theory regarding global governance and the 'public' character of global regulations, the role of individuals and states in global governance, and state sovereignty are considered valuable contributions to contemporary global aviation safety issues in practice. It is asserted in this book that proper checks and balances in global aviation safety can be improved by making these accessible to individuals by way of national courts. Finally, establishing public awareness of global aviation safety standards will eventually create greater pressure on states to implement and enforce them. This book is in an area increasing academic and research interest of practitioners of public international aviation law, global administrative law, global governance, and global aviation safety, global air transport market regulations"--

"The legal protection of geographical indications (GIs) is characterised by a variety of approaches which translates the many objectives attached to them. These range from protection of the consumers and producers' interests against unfair competition practices, to territorial development, to preservation of cultural heritage and natural resources. Looking beyond formal legal protection for GIs, this book seeks to re-draw attention to what happens in the real world by exploring the opportunities and constraints which influence whether regional product branding initiatives are successful. It asks: what makes GIs work in practice and does the type of legal protection matter? To answer these questions, this book takes a comparative case-study approach and draws upon empirical data collected from twelve GI initiatives in two countries, France and Vietnam. In doing so, this book not only provides new perspectives to the ongoing international legal dispute over GIs. It also contributes to unpacking the factors that make GIs work in practice to bring about economic and non-economic benefits and ultimately support the empowerment of local producers. As such, this book provides new insights and will be of interest to legal academics and practitioners as well as food sociologists, economists, anthropologists and rural development experts"--
