To provide disabled people with the same opportunities to participate in working life as everyone else, certain measures, such as wage subsidies, compensating for a reduced work capacity, might be necessary. To ascertain that these measures are limited to the most needy a system that identifies the target group is required. The Swedish Public Employment Service's (PES') classification of occupational disability constitutes such a system. In this study we document how jobseekers' demographic characteristics, socioeconomic position, and health-related conditions are associated with being classified as occupationally disabled by the PES, and how this classification might be distorted by unintended incentive mechanisms. Our empirical analyses show that both previous health conditions and previous socioeconomic disadvantages were associated with a higher likelihood of being classified as occupationally disabled. To what extent these jobseekers actually had impairments that entailed reduced work capacity cannot be concluded from the available data, but our results indicate that also the goals set by the government may have influenced how the PES classified jobseekers.

Globalization refers to more and more interdependence and Integration of relations among people, trade, capital flows, and migration, ideas and culture, religion and customs. Scholars and experts have been disagreeing about the denotation and effect of globalization. For some it is the salvation of humanity, the only way to promote universal prosperity and peace. But some Scholars also realize the fact that as a result of globalization states and its citizens faces the problems of social fragmentation: creating critical vulnerabilities violence and conflicts. The impact of globalization cannot be restricted only to economic process but the sphere of globalization is very wide it has influenced almost every aspect of human life. On the contrary the world is witnessing the scenario where few booming dominions or few influential countries because of the blessings of modernization trying to supersede the rest of the world or the weaker nations in every aspect: economically, socially, politically, through hard power and through cultural imperialism. This situation is a threat to positive and sustainable peace.

Are Indonesian government officials overpaid? If they are, should Indonesia's decision makers reduce the civil servants' wage rate? Practically, the best comparison for the public sector's wage is the private sector's remuneration. Therefore, this study investigates the wage differential between public and private sectors in Indonesia. To obtain robust estimations, it needs to eliminate the effects from differences in workers' and jobs' characteristic as well as the selection bias problem. Therefore, it applies various methodologies such as Heckman Correction Method and Quantile Wage Regression by using the newest data retrieved from Indonesia Family Life Survey (IFLS) 5 in 2014. The results suggest that differences in wages among two sectors are positive, meaning that Indonesia's government workers earned higher wages with respect to their private counterparts. Some of those results were consistent with former studies in other countries but revealed different trends compared to previous Indonesian data. The wage gap found in this study was higher for individuals with tertiary education level and varied along the wage distribution.

Spatial planning can improve one's quality of life by enhancing the environmental quality and its potential. Thus, the application of the concept of identity into the planning process is essential in emphasizing the significance of a place, especially in heritage tourism area, where tourist satisfaction is obtained from the tourism objects peculiarities that become the place identity. However, similar studies are still limited so that this study will contribute to filling the gaps. This study is conducted in Maimoon Palace District, a historic area in Medan. This study aims to examine the application of the concept of spatial planning based on the area identity. A qualitative method is used to collect the data about spatial planning elements in the area. The findings indicate that the existing spatial planning has already contained the place identity. However, many problems in spatial planning elements still cause a chaotic view of the area. Therefore, the government should improve the area not only by improving the physical quality but also increasing tourist satisfaction to enhance tourism attractiveness.

The development is essentially a constructive effort to make a better life for everyone. Various development theories have been produced to make this happen. In the history of Indonesia, there was a Regent who inherited the developmental thoughts in the next generation. He was Prince Aria Soeria Atmadja or Prince of Mecca, Regent of Sumedang in the period of 1883-1919. He wrote his development ideas in the book "Di Tioeng Memeh Hoedjan". The purpose of this article is to understand the developmental thoughts of Aria Soeria Atmadja. This research used the qualitative method with more emphasize on the hermeneutic approach, especially using hermeneutical circles. The result shows that the developmental thoughts of Aria Soeria Atmadja expressed in Sundanese with figurative language style because of the colonization. His thoughts were a formulation of his experience when he was in a government bureaucratic official. His developmental thoughts were in line with the Sustainable Development theory that developed in the 1980s and emphasized morality as its basis. He also emphasized the importance of community involvement in the development process

South Africa has a long and rich tradition of short story writing, stretching from the early oral-style tale (MacKenzie, 1999), through the writing of the "fabulous fifties" (Driver, 2012; R. Gaylard, 2008), to the most recent post-apartheid texts. In this interview, Henrietta Rose-Innes describes her practice as a short story writer, noting how it differs from that of writing novels or poetry. For Rose-Innes, the short story offers a way to capture her view of the world; that is, in sudden, intense moments, rather than in wholly narrative terms. Combining a number of short stories into a collection, Rose-Innes suggests, can offer some perspective on the plurality of contemporary South African life. Over the course of the interview, she discusses her exploration of conventional gender categories, her unconscious use of Gothic tropes, and the possibilities for political writing in contemporary South Africa. Throughout, there is a concern for how her works negotiate questions of space and place, particularly in the context of South African writing.

Commercial activities in nineteenth century Gold Coast were crucial in defining, not only the nature of African capitalism, but the consumption changes it brought to its merchant elite, commonly referred to in African historiography as merchant princes. The transformation of the Gold Coast economy into a commercial capitalist economy, which had as its life source a vibrant north Atlantic world market, exposed merchant princes to other goods which were not necessities but had the power to change one's social status. In partaking freely in this consumerism that the north Atlantic world offered, they were redefining power relations and helping to entrench colonial capitalism in the Gold Coast. More importantly, this new kind of consumerism signaled the merchant princes' desire to, at once, show off their newly acquired wealth and also appropriate power in a politically uncertain environment. Using available historical sources as well as creative works such as Ama Ata Aidoo's Anowa, this paper suggests imaginative ways in which scholars may tease out African agency in existing narratives on the nineteenth century.

Sad Kerti is six kertis or kertihs (noble behavior) which consists of atma, samudra, wana, danu, jagat, and jana. It is a Hindu concept that is very basic and meaningful and challenging to realize in reality. The six are the basis of this life. Realizing this, the government of Bali, through the new Governor and the new Deputy Governor, has built a comprehensive plan through the paradigm of "Nangun Sad Kerti Loka Bali" which is full of challenges and hopes to build Bali in the next five years. This qualitative article shows that the sad kerti is relevant to be implemented in the development of contemporary Bali that requires its ecological, social and cultural-religious touch. In this way, the well-being of the Balinese people by birth and mind is believed to be achieved as planned. All parties, both the government, the private sector, and the (Balinese) people are actively involved in working together to make it happen.

Purpose: This paper introduces Stroud's 'Linguistic Citizenship', a concept committed to democratic participation, to voice, to the heterogeneity of linguistic resources and to the political value of sociolinguistic understanding. Approach: It first outlines Linguistic Citizenship's links with the ethnographic sociolinguistics inspired by Hymes, and then turns to language and language education in England. Findings: The discourses of language and citizenship currently dominating the UK are very much at odds with Stroud's conception, but the sociolinguistic citizenship outlined by Stroud is very well suited to the multilingualism of everyday urban life, and it complements a range of relatively small, independently funded educational initiatives promoting similar values. Their efforts are currently constrained by issues of scale and sustainability, although there was a period from the 1960s to the 80s when sociolinguistic citizenship was addressed within English state schooling. Practical implications: Sociolinguistic citizenship may at present find its most sustainable support in the collaboration between universities and not-for-pro.

The following analysis pretends to establish a discursive comparison between Hugo Chávez Frías (Former President of Venezuela) and Pablo Iglesias (general secretary of Podemos in Spain), and how the new political language promoted by both leaders had affected directly in the citizens. Likewise, to seek and emphasize the origin of the transmitted messages and, in every case, study why they accomplished to have a protagonist in people's life, from a political, social and communicative point of view. ; El presente análisis pretende establecer una comparación discursiva entre Hugo Chávez (ex presidente de Venezuela) y Pablo Iglesias (secretario General de Podemos en España) y cómo el neolenguaje político promovido por ambos líderes ha influido de forma directa en la ciudadanía. Asimismo, buscar y enfatizar sobre el origen de los mensajes transmitidos y, en cada caso, estudiar porqué han logrado tener protagonismo en la vida de las personas, tanto desde el punto de vista político como social y comunicativo.

This article aims to present a recent document from the Spanish Episcopal Conference entitled The truth of human love. Orientations on conjugal love, gender ideology and family legislation. For this, its basic contents will be exposed with a special look at its frontal criticisms of the distortion of love and sexuality caused by gender ideology (especially the theories of qeer and cyborg) and its influence on current legislation regarding life, marriage and family. ; El presente artículo pretende realizar una presentación del reciente documento de la Conferencia Episcopal Española titulado La verdad del amor humano. Orientaciones sobre el amor conyugal, la ideología de género y la legislación familiar. Para ello se expondrán sus contenidos básicos con una mirada especial a sus críticas frontales a la desvirtuación del amor y la sexualidad provocada por la ideología de género (sobre todo de las teorías del qeer y del cyborg) y su influencia en la legislación actual referente a la vida, el matrimonio y la familia.

This study aims to examine: the profile of Balinese women in practical political constellation, the draft model of gender-based political education, models for women in politics, scientific articles published in accredited journals. The research was analyzed by using descriptive qualitative analysis technique, and statistic analysis. The conclusions of this research, namely: 1) the role of political participation of women tends to be low. (2) Th e position and participation of women in political activity is highly marginalized. (3) The climate and communication patterns of family life, culture, official villages, and schools do not support the process of political education for indigenous women to achieve improvement. (4) Indigenous village as the highest symbolism in the level of indigenous peoples structurally has not done any real activity in relation to political education on women. (5) The process of forming Indonesian civil society, in relation to the objectives and characteristics of indigenous peoples of indigenous Balinese villages, is quite relevant in creating a gender equality climate.

Poverty is the condition which a person or community is being not able to fulfill basic needs in various dimension of life. Bengkulu is a province that located in the west of Indonesia and has high levelof poverty. Eradicating poverty needs a right policy from the government and therefore proper data analysis for knowing the determinants of poverty. This study aim to analyze poverty pattern and knowing the determinant of poverty in Bengkulu province using binary hierarcy logistic regression. There are sixindependent variables for first level (household) : area classification, size of family, sex of household head, age of household head, job of household head and the education of household head. Variable for second level (regency) is accessibility of public facility index (IASU) as contextual variable. Dependent variabel is the status of poverty According to the study, the significant variables as determinant of poverty are size offamily, sex of household head, education of household head and IASU. La dependencia de la renta petrolera ha producido un revés en las reformas iniciadas durante el Gobierno de Hugo Chávez. Con la caída del precio del petróleo, Venezuela viene transitando por una crisis económica que ha promovido reacomodos estructurales heterogéneos, representados en la figura del "bachaqueo". Una crisis profunda, que excede lo económico, con alcance en otros aspectos de la vida social. Sin embargo, las principales alternativas siguen ignorando la necesidad de cuestionar la hegemonía del modelo rentista, y sus consecuencias en la depredación del medio ambiente y en la diversidad cultural. ; Dependence on oil revenues has been a backward to the reforms initiated during the Hugo Chavez´ government. The fall in oil prices has begun an economic crisis in Venezuela, which has promoted heterogeneous structural rearrangements, represented in the figure of "bachaqueo". A crisis beyond the economic factor is reaching other aspects of social life. However, the main alternatives ignore to challenge the rentier state and its consequences on the environmental degradation and cultural diversity.
