Family ownership and control are still significant in the majority of business enterprises in the United States. A high percentage of these companies face special problems particularly related to corporate development and transition from an enterpreneurial to a professional management structure. The dual criteria for corporate membership (family and professional competence) require special management efforts. Without these efforts, organizational rigidities develop which undermine the corporation's ability to function effectively. While the relevance of the interaction between family relationships and the working environment of organizational effectiveness has been recognized, family systems and organization approaches have never been simultaneously applied in the study of family-dominated businesses. In this paper we develop a scheme that is derived from principles of organizational and family-systems theory. We describe a set of processes and mechanisms that define and regulate the interaction between the business and family system. We show the applicability of these concepts to the study of adaptation and maladaptation in the family-dominated corporation.

The author focuses on the special role of trust in the process of step-by-step creation of the teaching staff, which along with the analysis of the activities of the structural units of the educational organization made it possible to identify the organizational and managerial structures of the educational organization involved in the process of creating the teaching staff and the capital of the university. The organizational and managerial conditions for the development of trust in the teaching staff of the university when positioning the teaching staff as a key resource for the functioning of an educational organization are determined: a flexible management structure of an educational organization with a special role of the university's head and his professionalism, which ensures the successful functioning of the educational organization; creating conditions for the progressive development of the pedagogical employee of the university; creating a mentoring institute. El presente trabajo final de máster, tiene como objeto de estudio analizar desde la perspectiva de la prevención de riesgos laborales, y en concreto desde los riesgos de índole psicosocial, la situación de trabajo a distancia que han experimentado millones de personas durante el confinamiento como consecuencia de la crisis sanitaria global provocada por la pandemia de la Covid-19. Ante la situación de emergencia sanitaria, muchas empresas e instituciones han optado por la adopción del teletrabajo con el objetivo de salvaguardar la actividad económica, al mismo tiempo que protegían la salud de sus empleados. El motivo por el que me decanté por realizar esta investigación fue porque me parecía un campo de estudio poco explorado, con muchas luces y sombras en materia de prevención de riesgos laborales. Y también con la impresión de que este experimento masivo de trabajo a distancia puede marcar el comienzo de una nueva época en la forma de concebir las relaciones laborales, la organización del trabajo y el uso de las nuevas tecnologías. Con el fin de realizar esta investigación sobre una base sólida, tanto teórica como empírica, he optado por elegir metodologías cualitativas. Concretamente he optado por las siguientes técnicas para la recolección de datos: a) legislación, artículos, y datos secundarios para la realización del marco teórico; b) la realización de tres entrevistas de carácter semi-estructurado. ; The aim of this Master dissertation is to analyze, from an occupational risk- prevention perspective, the distance working situation originated from the Covid-19 world pandemic which affected to millions of persons during confinement time. Due to the fact of the sanitary emergency circunstances derived from this exceptional situation many enterprises decided to implement telecommuting in order to both save its economic activity and protect its employees' health. I found this topic a not much studied one in matters of occupational risk prevention, so I decided to focus my Master Dissertation on its investigation. In addition, this massive telecommuting experiment can mark the beginning of a new era in labor matters such as in professional relationships, work organization, and new information and communication technology. Abstrak - Ancaman terhadap nasionalisme melalui bidang ideologi, politik, ekonomi, sosial budaya, terorisme, korupsi, sebagaimana fenomena yang terjadi di era globalisasi saat ini menjadi perhatian penting yang perlu segera ditindak lanjuti. Pemahaman, sikap dan perilaku bela negara oleh seluruh komponen bangsa menjadi suatu pendorong dalam menjaga pertahanan negara. Kekuatan sumber daya manusia pada sebuah perusahaan yang menjalankan tugas dan fungsi untuk mencapai tujuan. Tesis ini berupaya menjawab permasalahan pemahaman, sikap dan perilaku Bela Negara karyawan Bank Artha Graha Internasional, Kantor Pusat Jakarta serta faktor-faktor yang memengaruhinya dalam memperkuat pertahanan negara. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara kualitatif yang didukung oleh data primer dan sekunder. Hasil penelitian, menunjukkan masih belum optimal pemahaman, sikap dan perilaku bela negara karyawan Bank Artha Graha Internasional, Kantor Pusat Jakarta yang diimplementasikan dalam bentuk pelibatan seluruh karyawan dalam program-program Lima Pilar Artha Graha Peduli. Faktor utama sebagai penyebab karena belum adanya sinergitas antara pimpinan, hubungan profesional internal perusahaan dan sosialisasi kepada karyawan melalui pengiriman karyawan untuk pendidikan dan pelatihan karakter guna meningkatkan Sumber Daya Manusia pertahanan dalam mengimplementasikan Bela Negara seperti yang diinginkan pendiri Bank Artha Graha. The main factors as the cause for the lack of synergy between the leadership, the company's internal professional relationships and socialization to employees through delivery of education and training of employees to improve the character of the defense of Human Resources in implementing the State Defense as desired founder of Bank Artha Graha. Spatial Citizenship Education is an innovative exploration of ways to engage and promote citizenship through a deeper understanding of spatial and geographic perspectives. The authors propose that recognizing the relationship between space and citizenry enables productive and positive engagement with important societal issues such as equity, justice, and environmental stewardship. By providing a historical overview of geography's contribution to citizenship education, including progress made and challenges faced by educational reform movements, this collection shows how geography can contribute to a new type of citizen--one with an enhanced understanding of the world as seen through the key concepts of geography: space, place, scale, power, and human-environment relationships. Through a theoretical explanation of key citizenship ideas, and by providing practical, classroom-based teaching tools, this volume will be essential for geography education researchers and social studies educators alike.
Purpose To identify reasons for burnout, characterize the effect of lifestyle medicine (LM) practice on burnout, and assess the risk of burnout in relation to the proportion of LM practice. Design Analysis of mixed methods data from a large, cross-sectional survey on LM practice. Setting Web-based survey platform. Participants Members of an LM medical professional society at the time of survey administration. Methods Practitioner members of a medical professional society were recruited to a cross-sectional, online survey. Data were collected on LM practice and experiences with burnout. Free-text data were thematically grouped and counted, and the association of burnout with the proportion of lifestyle-based medical practice was analyzed using logistic regression. Results Of 482 respondents, 58% reported currently feeling burned out, 28% used to feel burned out but no longer do, and 90% reported LM had positively impacted their professional satisfaction. Among LM practitioners surveyed, practicing more LM was associated with a 43% decrease (0.569; 95% CI: 0.384, 0.845; P = 0.0051) in the odds of experiencing burnout. Top reasons for positive impact included professional satisfaction, sense of accomplishment, and meaningfulness (44%); improved patient outcomes and patient satisfaction (26%); enjoyment of teaching/coaching and engaging in relationships (22%); and helps me personally: quality of life and stress (22%). Conclusion Implementing LM as a greater proportion of medical practice was associated with lower likelihood of burnout among LM practitioners. Results suggest that increased feelings of accomplishment due to improved patient outcomes and reduced depersonalization contribute to reduced burnout.
AbstractObjectiveGrounded in secondary traumatic stress theory, this study explored the impact of work‐related traumatic stress on law enforcement couples.BackgroundStudies exploring the impact of traumatic stress on law enforcement couples are limited. Such studies suggest that when traumatic stress impacts law enforcement professionals, their spouses often experience secondary traumatic stress and serve in a supportive role after trauma exposure.MethodSemistructured dyadic interviews were conducted with law enforcement couples (N = seven couples, 14 participants) using transcendental phenomenology.ResultsThree themes emerged within the data that captured the essence of law enforcement couples' experiences of traumatic stress: (a) the stressful nature of the law enforcement profession, (b) the impact of work‐related traumatic stress on the couple relationship, and (c) protective factors and resilient coping characteristics.ConclusionThe impact of work‐related traumatic stress manifested in couple's communication, role responsibilities and parenting, and commitment to the relationship and the profession. The impact of work‐related traumatic events differed for the law enforcement professional and their spouse based on the type of traumatic event. Overall, work‐related traumatic stress led couples to engage in a meaning‐making process and activation of resilient couple coping characteristics.ImplicationsGiven the significant impact that work‐related traumatic stress has on the law enforcement couple dyad, couple and family therapy services are needed for law enforcement professionals and their spouses. Couple and family therapists, family researchers, and other professionals working to promote healthy couple and family relationships should inquire about how couples adapt to traumatic stress and reinforce use of resilient coping characteristics.
The objective of this study is to investigate the relationships of enhancing audit management competency on sustainable audit success via the mediating influences of audit value awareness, audit professional proficiency, and efficient audit report. Comprehensive audit professionalism, audit learning commitment, and regulations practice force have become the antecedents of enhancement audit management competency. Also, audit system efficiency is the moderating variable of the relationship between enhancement audit management competency mediating variables. The hypotheses test the variables. Testing data was collected from 328 governmental auditors from the Office of Auditor General of Thailand (OAG). A questionnaire was analyzed by using the Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) regression analysis employed to examine all hypotheses, which indicated that most of variables from enhancing audit management competency were positively significant, and were related to factors relevant to audit value awareness, audit professional proficiency, efficient audit report and sustainable audit success. Specifically, evidence was found that audit value awareness had a positive significance in relationship to audit professional proficiency. Further, audit professional proficiency also had a positive significance toward efficient audit report. Moreover, comprehensive audit adroitness, audit learning commitment and regulations practice force had a positive effect on enhancing audit management competency. Additionally, audit system efficiency showed partially positive, supporting effects on enhancing audit management competency-mediating variables. The results provide the benefits for increasing auditors' awareness as well as to improve and enhance audit management competency in accordance with environmental change in order to achieve auditor professionalism in the future.
The paper analyses limitations and opportunities for the future professional career that emerge from conscription to military service. The paper empirically tests the hypothesis which claims that there are contradictions between military service values and the values required for employment in modern enterprises characterized by innovation and flexibility. The paper presents the results of empirical survey of conscripts' job orientation and professional values. It was discovered that 90% of conscripts see their future employment in civil organizations; however, almost a third do not have any specific career plans. Most conscripts (80%) have values similar to those of low-level organizational culture, which is based on personal relationships and hierarchies; these value orientations conflict with the civil labor requirements to prospective employees. Выявлено, что 90 % военнослужащих срочной службы связывают свою будущую профессиональную деятельность с гражданской сферой, но практически третья часть их не имеет конкретной профессиональной ориентации. Большая часть военнослужащих (80 %) ориентирована на типы организационной культуры, основывающиеся на ценностях отношений и иерархии, что не соответствует инновационно-рыночному вектору развития современных предприятий. The profession of physiotherapy in the UK is undergoing a period of change. Prominent among these aspects of change is the movement to evidence based practice (EBP). EBP is a central element of policy in the National Health Service (NHS). It is being implemented in physiotherapy as a means of securing contracts with purchasers but also as a means of contesting challenges from alternative practitioners and health professionals to the areas of work that physiotherapists view as their territory. Using data collected from a qualitative study of 56 physiotherapists of different grades working in different sectors of the NHS, this paper explores physiotherapists' views of EBP and the impact that they expect it to have on professional boundaries and on the status and practice of physiotherapy. The study indicated that physiotherapists' views may differ according to their position in the profession. Senior physiotherapists appeared to view the development of EBP as a threat to the profession which would decrease professional autonomy and the status of the profession. In contrast, junior and superintendent physiotherapists appeared to view EBP as an opportunity for strengthening the profession. The impact EBP will have on the profession of physiotherapy and its relationships with a range of health professionals is as yet unknown as are the responses that physiotherapists are likely to have to this development. This study identifies the areas in which conflicts are likely to be played out. A focus for future research analysing the impact of EBP is suggested.
