; Abstract: This article compiles the main research work in gender matters that has been carried out in in the sphere of School Organization from the 1980s to the present day. We have organized these scientific contributions along three broad lines: school culture and climate, teaching staff and planning processes, and lastly, management and leadership. These research works have brought about a new approach to themes and research methods in the field of studies on educational organization, introducing fresh ideas and strategies for the improvement of education. These contributions are in line with the changes perceived in this area of study and are aimed towards the recognition of organizations as cultural and political realities.
From icon to punk portrait: The iconicity of the ruler image in the context of the transformation of the idea of the Serbian stateThe article describes transformation in the iconographic forms of power representations in Serbian culture as determinants of the evolution of the idea of the State and Serbian political culture. In visual terms, the key stages of their development correspond to the genealogical dynastic image of the religious character (loza) in the middle ages, and the "disenchanted" historical and representative portrait of a ruler that was subordinated to the national idea on the threshold of modernity. These forms not only participate in the establishment of political leadership and the creation of the field of power, but they also stimulate their change. The author examines these issues from the perspective of visual studies, which problematize the phenomenon of the performativity of the image. A particular variation of the performativity of the image is iconicity, understood as drafting and making present reality using esthetic and visual values. The aim of the analysis is to show how the local, namely Serbian, pattern of culture of power models the universal mechanisms of forming and legitimizing the authority of the State. Od ikony do punk portretu. Ikoniczność wizerunku władcy w kontekście przemian idei państwa serbskiegoArtykuł dotyczy przeobrażeń ikonograficznych form reprezentacji władzy w kulturze serbskiej jako wyznaczników ewolucji idei państwa oraz kultury politycznej Serbów. W wymiarze wizualnym kluczowym etapom ich rozwoju odpowiadają: w średniowieczu genealogiczny wizerunek dynastyczny o charakterze religijnym (loza), a u progu nowożytności "odczarowany" portret historyczny i reprezentacyjny władcy, podporządkowany idei narodowej. Celem analizy jest ukazanie, w jaki sposób lokalny, tj. serbski wzór kultury władzy modeluje uniwersalne mechanizmy formowania i legitymizacji autorytetu państwa.
The romance of extraction underlies and partly defines Western modernity and our cultural imaginaries. Combining affect studies and environmental humanities, this volume analyzes societies' devotion to extraction and fossil resources. This devotion is shaped by a nostalgic view on settler colonialism as well as by contemporary »affective economies« (Sara Ahmed). The contributors examine the links between forms of extractivism and gendered discourses of sentimentality and the ways in which cultural narratives and practices deploy the sentimental mode (in plots of attachment, sacrifice, and suffering) to promote or challenge extractivism.
This book explores the empirical manifestations of the paradoxical features of reproductive technologies and provides in-depth understandings of solo motherhood through assisted reproduction and by recognising the complex experiences and the lived realities of forming donor-conceived families. The author offers insights into how single women 'do' family, identity and kinship and how the choice to create life as a solo mother is continuously rationalised. She uncovers how established, societal cultural narratives are adopted, negotiated and transformed in the processes of decision-making and fertility treatment. The book draws on science and technology studies, feminist theory, kinship- and family studies and identity theory, and reveals how aspects of bio-genetic and social connections (nature-culture) take on varying meanings when kinship and familial relations - are created through assisted reproduction. Through the lens of solo mother families, the book covers broader sociological questions including; how donor conception challenges existing and endemic kinship ideas and practices and what kinds of individual, social and legal responses have been prompted by advances within medically assisted reproduction.

; This dissertation starts out from the clearly visible differences in the Ukraine policies of Poland and the Czech Republic. The goal of the investigation is to find out what is the reason for those differences in the foreign policy behaviour of two states which are often considered as representatives of a rather homogenous group. On the basis of previous constructivist research on Polish security policy, it assumes that this has to do with cultural factors, especially with the importance ascribed to Ukraine and Eastern Europe in general in the context of national security policy as well as Ukraine-related role conceptions resulting from those considerations. Thus, the main research question is what Ukraine-related role conceptions, motivated by security policy considerations, have emerged in Poland and the Czech Republic since 1989. To answer this question, at first a concept of national security culture is developed on the basis of previous research on political and strategic culture, after which the role theory is presented as an instrument that has advantages over others, but has been hardly perceived in this field of research until now. Methodically, a discourse analysis is conducted, based on a sociology of knowledge approach to discourse which fits excellently into the presented model of national security culture due to common meta-theoretical foundations; therefore, this kind of discourse analysis is very well suited for an analysis of the emergence of role conceptions. The conclusion is that in Poland, the threat construction of a possible re-emergence of the Russian empire is central, and an independent, stabilized Ukraine is considered to be a protection against this threat. The resulting Ukraine-related role conceptions are part of a mostly consensual complex of security policy role conceptions which are, apart from role-specific security policy goals, motivated to a great extent by the threat construction of political marginalization, and can therefore often be understood as leadership roles. The Czech Republic is characterized by an almost complete lack of the threat construction of Russian imperialism, instead Ukraine is constructed as a source of danger. Moreover, the Czech national security culture is characterized by a lack of conceptual complexity, a lack of consensus, a construction of the Czech Republic as a powerless actor and a subordination of foreign to domestic policy. Therefore, not only is there a complete lack of Ukraine-related role conceptions in the Czech case, there also is a fundamental shortage of ideas on what role the Czech Republic is to play in international politics.
