Polo Democrático is a young political party that experiences serious difficulties in its growth. Of such difficulties, some are endogenous and other exogenous. Gaining a fair understanding of the process experienced by the party in its short trajectory, in order to project a new phase and achieve its definite implantation in the political Colombian landscape, is a matter of the highest importance. The country needs better parties for a better society. The political project of democratic transformation, by means of civil fight that the Polo leads, is completely valid as an alternative option, as much in front of the traditional elites as of the valueless and nonviable perspective of the insurgent movements. Therefore, it is necessary that Polo Democrático overcomes the present crisis and transits from the fragile institutionality that today features to a stronger one, fit to accomplish its political project. ; El Polo Democrático es un partido joven que experimenta serias dificultades en su crecimiento. De tales dificultades, unas son endógenas y otras exógenas. Es de la mayor importancia ganar una comprensión justa del proceso vivido por el partido en su corta trayectoria, a fin de proyectar una nueva fase y lograr su implantación definitiva en el paisaje político colombiano. El país necesita mejores partidos para una mejor sociedad. El proyecto político de transformación democrática por medios de lucha civil que levanta el Polo tiene plena vigencia como opción alternativa, tanto frente a las élites gatopardistas tradicionales como frente a la perspectiva desvirtuada e inviable de los movimientos insurgentes. Por ello, es necesario que el Polo Democrático supere la actual crisis y transite de la institucionalidad frágil que lo caracteriza a una institucionalidad fuerte que lo habilite para realizar su proyecto político.
Die neue Regierung in Israel steht politisch so weit rechts wie keine andere vor ihr. Der Erfolg der rechtsradikalen Parteien und ihre Beteiligung an der Regierung sind Ergebnisse einer länger anhaltenden Transformation der politischen Landschaft Israels. Kennzeichnend für diese Entwicklung ist die Genese einer rechten Mehrheit, die mit einer Rechtsverschiebung des Mainstreams und der politischen Legitimierung des radikalsten Segments der israelischen Gesellschaft einhergeht. Der gemeinsame Nenner dieser Regierung ist ein antiliberaler Impetus, der auf eine Neuordnung des Staates hinausläuft. Die Regierung beabsichtigt, demokratische Mechanismen, insbesondere das System von Checks and Balances, den Status des Obersten Gerichtshofs und den der Grundrechte, zu schwächen. Stattdessen sollen majoritäre Prinzipien gestärkt werden, die den Regierungsmehrheiten kaum mehr Schranken auferlegen. Dieser disruptive Ansatz bezieht sich auch auf den Konflikt mit den Palästinensern: Hier wird ein Sieg angestrebt. This paper analyzes the current state of political science as an academic discipline in Colombia. Considering the concept of institutionalization as a departure point, the author examines five discipline components, namely, the development of teaching, educators, research, publications, and the recent emergence of a profession association as well as the implementation of the first national congress. The author identifies strengths and weaknesses of the Colombia's recent institutionalization process and shows that the process has been uneven with regard to different Colombian universities. As it turned out, in Colombia, political science is a discipline developed primarily at private institutions, with a limited admission rates but with high concentration of research, doctoral training, and the number of academic publications. ; Este artículo analiza el estado actual de la ciencia política como disciplina universitaria en Colombia. A partir del concepto de institucionalización presenta una visión de conjunto de cinco componentes de la disciplina: la expansión de la docencia, los profesores, la investigación, las publicaciones y el reciente proceso de surgimiento de agremiaciones y realización de los primeros congresos nacionales. El argumento central es que Colombia presenta un proceso de institucionalización reciente, con fortalezas y debilidades y un desarrollo desigual entre universidades. Se trata de una disciplina desarrollada especialmente en instituciones privadas y con limitaciones de acceso y alta concentración de la investigación, la formación doctoral y las publicaciones consolidadas. ; Este artigo considera o estado atual da Ciência Política como disciplina acadêmica na Colômbia. Na base do conceito de institucionalização, oferece uma visão geral dos cinco componentes da disciplina, como são: a expansão do ensino, os professores, as pesquisas, as publicações e o recente surgimento de associações e o processo e implementação do primeiro congresso nacional. O argumento central é que a Colômbia tem um processo de institucionalização recente, com fortaleças, debilidades e um desenvolvimento díspar entre as universidades. Ciência Política é uma disciplina desenvolvida especialmente em instituições privadas e com acesso limitado, mais uma alta concentração de investigação, formação de doutorado e publicações consolidadas.
Dix-eight months of discussions and exchanges of information with almost 130 colleagues and analysis of documents make it possible to draw up for the first time a general picture of the situation of archaeology in the twenty countries around the Mediterranean. The aim was to characterise the various scientific and heritage strategies currently being carried out in this geographical area of archaeological research, which is certainly one of the most active and internationalised in the world, with almost 14 000 local actors and 800 annual field operations carried out by at least 1500 to 2000 researchers outside their country of origin. Three major developments over the last 20 years have an impact on research today: * the development of preventive archaeology, which makes it possible to renew and enrich most of the corpus of data, and often to form the long series allowing quantitative analyses; * the extension of the concept of cultural heritage, in which the institutions of guardianship are reorganised, and in which the social and economic valorisation of archaeology takes on new meanings; * the system of research competition and collaboration which now goes beyond the framework of nations to that of Europe. The diversity of strategies in the various countries shows, first and foremost, an increased inequality of resources between the countries of Europe in the Community and the others. This serious inequality will certainly reinforce the predominance of international research in the latter countries over national research, but it could also create new tensions. Another line of tension could also emerge between strategies putting knowledge (and thus the scientific treatment of any archaeological data) at the forefront of assessing the value of archaeological operations, and strategies giving priority to the economy and social valorisation.
