Für Therapeuten ergeben sich in der psychotherapeutischen Praxis immer wieder ethisch herausfordernde Situationen. Einige wiederkehrende ethische Themen, wie Vertrauen, Intimität, Macht, Interessenkonflikte oder körperliche Nähe und Sexualität zwischen Psychotherapeut und Patient, werden seit den Anfängen des Fachs diskutiert und wurden im Verlauf der Zeit auch Bestandteil berufsspezifischer Kodizes und Standesordnungen. Andere ethische Themen in der Psychotherapie sind beispielsweise die Patientenaufklärung, Einwilligungsfähigkeit und informierte Einwilligung, der Umgang mit Behandlungsfehlern und moralischen Verfehlungen. Der Band bietet einen kompakten und fallbasierten Überblick zu ethischen Fragestellungen und Herausforderungen im psychotherapeutischen Kontext. Jedes Kapitel des Buches behandelt eine reale, ethisch herausfordernde Situation aus der Psychotherapie-Praxis. Neben der praxisnahen Diskussion der Fallbeispiele werden in diesem Buch Grundkenntnisse wichtiger ethischer Theorien, Begriffe und Modelle in Anlehnung an die Medizinethik vermittelt. Ziel ist es, Psychotherapeuten für ethische Fragen zu sensibilisieren, um so eine Basis für die Beurteilung moralischer Fragen in der eigenen psychotherapeutischen Praxis zu schaffen.
