; The entrepreneurial involvement of educational institutions at the elementary and the secondary educational levels has not been systematically analyzed in the existing body of literature, although the decentralization and autonomy of educational institutions have been emphasized in educational policies since the 1980s. This study provides an empirical analysis of the entrepreneurial orientation, as related to the schools in Croatia and Bosnia & Herzegovina and their principals. The influence of this orientation is analyzed from the perspectives of principals' personal job satisfaction, perceived contribution to the society and the perception of the social role/influence of principalship. The empirical findings show that the entrepreneurial orientation of schools and their principals in Croatia and B&H are closely inter-related. More enterprising principals are also more satisfied with their jobs, and they feel to be contributing to the society more. However, the same does not apply to their perceived social standing/status, which could be attributed to their intrinsic motivation, but such a conclusion needs to be verified by further research. The results of this study show that the entrepreneurial orientation(s) of schools and school principals should be considered as useful descriptors of individual and institutional behaviour in the educational systems of South-East Europe.

While agency has become the new buzzword for researchers in the area of peace and conflict studies, it remains a concept that is both under-theorised and contested in terms of how it transforms the disciplines of Politics, International Relations and Peace and Conflict. In this book, Kappler develops a relational and spatial concept of agency, enhancing our understanding of the complex and subtle processes through which peacebuilding actors engage and interact with each other. Using the EU's engagement in peacebuilding in Bosnia-Herzegovina as a primary case study, this book investigates outlines competing discourse clusters in the interplay between the EU and local actors engaged in creative cultural activities. An investigation of the contested nature of agency in its ability to give meaning to peacebuilding highlights the potential of local actors to impact upon and resist institutional discourses. Kappler also conveys the challenges of peacebuilding in Cyprus where there is a lack of connection between local and international discursive spaces, whilst the more limited depth of international intervention in South Africa in turn suggests a more flexible set of actors as well as more dynamic interaction in the emergence of peace-related discourses. This book provides an original discussion of agency in relation to EU peacebuilding, exploring the subtle forms of interaction between actors and framing the analysis in ways that allow for practical application.
Introduction. The rising need for quality health care, increased workload, accountability and healthcare reforms, are factors that resulted in growing requirements for recognition of the nursing profession, which are clearly defined in the Munich Declaration (2000). Unfortunately, in the current health care system in most of the transition countries of the Region of the South East Europe, nursing is still not adequately validated as a special profession. Aim. Presentation of legal solutions related to nursing profession in Bosnia and Herzegovina (B&H) from the aspect of definition of nursing activities, education standards, licensing and labor mobility. Methods. Desktop analysis as a method of quality research of legislative and strategic documents related to nursing in B&H. Analysis of the directive and legislation in the countries of the region and the EU. Comparison with the legislation of B&H. According to the constitutional solutions, within the competence of the Entities (Republic of Srpska), the area of health care in B&H is divided by the competencies of the entities and cantons (the Federation of B&H), that is, within the competence of the Brčko District of B&H, therefore, there is also a separate entity legislation. In 2013, the Government of the Federation of B&H adopted the Law on Nursing and Midwifery and secretly defined the nursing domains in accordance with the EU directives. In the Republic of Srpska and the Brčko District, this is partly defined in the systemic health care laws (amended in 2015). Conclusions. In all the legal acts reviewed, there are still shortcomings in the defined domains for the nursing profession. By addressing these issues, the progress of nursing development would speed up, strengthen and modernize the health system, which would undoubtedly increase the quality of health care to a higher level. ; Uvod. Nažalost, u sadašnjem sustavu zdravstvene zaštite u većini tranzicijskih zemalja regije jugoistočne Europe sestrinstvo i dalje nije adekvatno validirano kao posebna profesija. Cilj. Prikaz zakonskih rješenja povezanih sa sestrinstvom, a ponuđenih kroz legislative u Bosni i Hercegovini (BiH) s aspekta definicije sestrinske djelatnosti, standarda obrazovanja, licenciranja i mogućnosti mobilnosti radne snage. Metode. Desktop analiza legislativnih i strateških dokumenata povezanih sa sestrinstvom u BiH. Rezultati.
Dual Masters ; M.SC.CONFLICT ANALYSIS&RES. ; M.A.CONFLICT RES.&MED.STUD. ; The dissertation analyses the interaction between patronage and governance in Southern Europe by looking at two case studies, the Republic of Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, between 2005 and 2015. Actively engaging with definitions of patronage and literature of how this phenomenon interacts with governance, the work takes the Southern European frame as a primary point of reference in looking at a particularly 'Southern' conception of political patronage and how this affects societies. Political and social developments in the case study countries, particularly the development of governance structures, has been affected strongly by the logic of patronage in Italy and Bosnia. A synthesis section following the case studies critically examines in comparative focus the overlaps and differences between the countries, proposes a number of findings on patronage and governance, and discusses the limitations of the chosen approaches. In the process, the relevance of patronage to processes of governance and explorations of social and political conflict are elucidated such that policymakers and academics may find conclusions useful to their work. ; N/A
