Pre-service teachers' pedagogical knowledge determines their readiness and competence as future educators in the field. This investigation generally assessed the pedagogical knowledge of the pre-service teachers of Ilocos Sur Polytechnic State College, along with teaching approaches and strategies, the preparation of the instructional materials, the curriculum, and classroom management. This study further looked into the significant difference in pedagogical knowledge between and among campuses of the college.The strengths and weaknesses were also determined as the basis for crafting an intervention plan. A descriptive design was employed with 220 respondents, who were identified through purposive sampling. An achievement test that consists of 15 items per component for a total of 60 items was used to measure their pedagogical knowledge. This instrument obtained a 0.70 reliability index. Analysis of data necessitates the use of mean, Anova, and Scheffe test. Findings indicate that pre-service teachers manifested low knowledge of the curriculum but were fairly knowledgeable on teaching approaches and strategies, preparation of instructional materials, and classroom management; notable differences in pedagogical knowledge between and among campuses exist; each campus revealed weaknesses; and the intervention plan is feasible to carry out and implement. Based on the results, it is strongly recommended that faculty who tackle these topics strategize how students can fully acquire and master them. The pedagogical knowledge intervention plan shall be initiated immediately to address their inadequacies.
The general objective of this research was to assess the practices and challenge of Management Development in government of polytechnic colleges in Addis Ababa. Descriptive survey research design was employed. The research both quantitative and qualitative research approach was used. Also, take as a study population all the colleges' managers that worked in different managerial position levels. Data gathering instruments were employed mainly, closed and open ended questionnaire interview. In this effect, mean, standard deviation and frequency percentage was employed to data analysis. The findings clearly show there was a limited attention to MD programs intervention in government colleges.Therefore, according to the findings that gathered from the data there were less support and less follow up practice of MD programs in the colleges as compared to its importance. Key recommendations include for different groups that was for the government and top responsible bodies that establishing effective and institutionalized MD system in the colleges, develop MD policy, strengthen and empower the responsible department to properly manage the separate MD practices of individual departments, undertaking the whole MD cycle very carefully and in a continuous base also for individual managers motivated to do self development by using different mechanisms.

Basing on rich documentary, the article studies the activity of the trade union organization in Krasnoyarsk Polytechnic Institute and the impact the trade union had on the cultural, public and political life of the Institute in the second half of the 1950s-1980s. The activity is stated to be held in different forms and areas: amateur arts, propaganda, wall-newspaper and house magazine, vigilant groups, University of Culture, student club, lecturing agitation group, student construction brigades, department, groups and hostels competitions. The authors come to the conclusion that involving students and faculty members into cultural, public and political life added greatly to fostering the future engineers as it took them less time to adapt to the team-spirited workforce after graduating from the higher educational establishment. The article is intended for the people interested in history of higher education in Siberia and Russia.

The objectives of the study are determined to analyze the competencies, motivation and implementation of lecturers in improving performance. This research was conducted in 4 STPPs from 6 service education colleges under the Ministry of Agriculture namely Medan STPP, Bogor STPP, STPP Magelang and STPP Malang. The research area was chosen purposively with the consideration that the six locations were universities belonging to the Ministry of Agriculture which had received performance allowances since 2012. The researchers wanted to determine how the level of performance capabilities of government officials (PNS) especially lecturers in producing quality graduates. Lecturer competencies have a significant influence on the performance of lecturers. This indicates that the higher the competence possessed by the lecturer, the higher the performance of the lecturer. Lecturer competency consists of four types of competencies, namely pedagogic competence, social competence, professional competence and personality competencies. Based on purposively methods, the results of research in 4 (four) STPP, social competency is the ability to communicate and interact effectively and efficiently with students, fellow teachers, parents / guardians of students, and the wider community having the highest influence of 34.6%, then competency professional, ability in mastering subject matter widely and deeply, that is equal to 23.2%. Providing performance allowances which is one form of the reward and punishment system and provides a significant influence on the performance of the Lecturer.Motivation has no significant effect on the performance of the Lecturer in Agricultural Extension College (STPP).
