This study aims to look at the narrative of public policies related to the relocation of the Indonesian capital in the era of the Covid Pandemic 19. The narrative is seen through the development of opinions of government policy actors, political parties, and society. This study uses a Q-DAS (Qualitative Data Analysis Software) approach; besides the data in this study are media and social media data. The media have an essential role to play in shaping public narratives related to policymaking. The role of public narratives can create collective awareness in providing information about actor choices in policy decision-making. This research will conduct a Narrative Policy Framework (NPF) study, which can describe, explain the structure of political narratives in policymaking. The results showed that the Government's attitude was inconsistent regarding relocating the State Capital (IKN) after the Covid 19 Pandemic. The policy choices made by the Government were evident from the Government's narrative that temporarily suspended the relocation of the State Capital (IKN). The policy steps taken by the Government are the impact of the developing public narrative related to the relocation of the State Capital (IKN) in the Covid 19 Pandemic era. The factors affecting budget availability are Covid 19, weak public support, regulations, and aspects of environmental damage. These factors have developed in the public narrative on mass media and social media so that the Government took steps to delay the process of moving the country's capital city (IKN).

While the 'media city' has gained academic attention for over a decade, the role of the media in urban gentrification processes has been an overlooked issue. Due to the rapid expansion of geomedia technologies, for example, app-based social media and location-based services on mobile platforms, there is a growing need to address this area from a critical perspective. The article develops and tries out an analytical framework for studying the mutual shaping of geomedia technologies and gentrification processes, using alternative tourism apps as its illustration. The middle-class biased appearance of such mobile apps is hypothesized as an articulation of a broader trend, through which geomedia recognizes and gains affordances that fit the ambitions of certain social groups and their spatial norms, preferences and practices. The framework comprises two steps: (1) a media-technological unpacking exercise inspired by affordance theory and (2) a critical consideration of how geomedia play into the distribution of spatial capital in the city. The first step outlines how representational, logistical and communicational affordances of alternative tourism apps represent the broader shift from mass media to geomedia. The second step discusses the social logics whereby alternative tourism apps are adapted to middle-class spatial interests, and thus to gentrification, and how geomedia technologies in general affect the ability of different groups to access, appropriate and define different places and neighbourhoods in the city.

The article analyses the discursive appeal to solidarity in the mass media during the unfolding of Europe's migration crisis. Solidarity was claimed by numerous actors in the public discourse to legitimise political decisions and mobilise public opinion. While it seems that the call for solidarity was shared by many actors, media studies show the 'partisan journalism' of media outlets. Thus, the political orientation of media outlets influences their coverage of public debates. Hence, to what extent do different quality newspapers cover the same solidarity claims in times of crisis? In order to answer this question, the crisis coverage of two German and two Irish newspapers with centre-left and centre-right political orientations is examined via the discourse network methodology. Germany is selected due to high political parallelism and a strong affectedness by the crisis, while Ireland is selected because of low political parallelism and a weak affectedness by the migration crisis. The findings demonstrate that partisan journalism persists during Europe's migration crisis. Especially German party actors are present in both countries, underpinning the central position of Germany. Regarding the appeal to solidarity, political solidarity claims prevail in all four newspapers, indicating the political-institutional asymmetry in the Common European Asylum System. The study contributes to the strategic framing of concepts in public debates and demonstrates that the left-right distinction of media outlets is hardly affected by the migration crisis.

On the basis of the analysis of news content from 2008 to 2012, we describe in this article the tendencies of Czech media in dealing with foreign policy topics, using a combination of quantitative content analysis and qualitative case studies of selected foreign policy events. Both quantitative and qualitative analyses demonstrate that the coverage of political events in the media is highly personalised and viewed through the prism of the personal or political interests of Czech political elites and the conflicts between them. As concerns the diversity of the actors presented and topics covered, the Czech media produce a considerably restricted and more or less uniform stream of news commented upon by a relatively limited spectrum of actors, mainly Czech politicians. For non-political, non-governmental, and international actors, access to the debate is considerably limited. The print media tends to present major political events as power-based conflicts between individuals or groups, rather than as negotiations about public affairs supported by substantive arguments. In effect, Habermas's classical vision of the role of mass media in democracy, which is to promote rational discussion as a desirable form of public debate, is replaced with persuasion through emotional appeal, which has been widely criticised. At the same time, however, some theoretical traditions see it more positively as a less restrictive form of public discourse.

Any visitor who walked the streets of Paris in the days or weeks following the attacks of January 2015 would definitely have witnessed a particular form of graphic irruption: the dissemination of messages of solidarity and mourning, and the repetition, within this mass of writing, of the formula 'I am Charlie'. Although the situation was different, the responses to terrorist attacks in January 2015 and the 9/11 aftermath are comparable by the 'writing event' (Fraenkel, 2002, 2018) they produced: temporary and atypical dispositifs of writing turned to the public space in order to be read or at least seen by passers-by. This article, structured along chronological lines, traces the evolution of the viral formula over the long term from Twitter to the urban public space. Firstly, the author focuses on the origin and meanings of the statement and formulates several hypotheses that may explain its wide circulation on social networks. Secondly, she analyses the post-attack graffiti based on databases of several private graffiti-cleaning companies in order to highlight the temporary sacralization of illegal writings. The ' Je suis Charlie' phenomenon is interesting in many ways: its staggering, massive diffusion; the apparent unanimity with which it was greeted in the world of politics and the media; and the way it was managed by local authorities.

This article is a follow-up to an article published in the American Behavioral Scientist in 2017, titled "Shaping public opinion for confrontation: Catalan independence claims as represented in Spanish, Catalan, Valencian, and Basque Editorials." At that time, our study was based on opinions expressed in mainstream newspaper editorials during two significant events in Catalonia's recent history: the demonstration against the Spanish Constitutional Court ruling on the Statute of Autonomy of Catalonia of July 10, 2010, and the mass pro-independence demonstration held on September 11, 2012. The research sought to compare the press reports published in Catalonia, Valencia, and the Basque Country with those from the rest of Spain (primarily Madrid). This study applies the same methodology to analyze editorial pieces published during the campaign prior to the Catalan parliamentary elections on December 21, 2017. This date was historically significant for Catalonia because for the first time since the restoration of democracy following the Franco regime, the Spanish state had intervened in Catalonia's self-rule by using Article 155 of the Spanish constitution to call snap elections. At the time, the lead candidates for the pro-independence parties were Oriol Junqueras (Republican Left of Catalonia) and Carles Puigdemont (Together for Catalonia), the former in prison and the latter abroad (or in "exile," according to secessionists). In light of the opposing opinions and perspectives, we believe it is worth analyzing and comparing mainstream editorials from Catalonia (Barcelona) and Spain (Madrid) once again, to ascertain the dominant narratives used in both to explain the Catalan and Spanish position and frame of reference. We have extended the scope to include mainstream online as well as printed media with a view to achieving a better understanding and providing a wider overview of the public agenda and debate at that time.

In 2010, the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC), a government agency in
Nigeria, launched a technological scheme called Mobile Authentication Service to equip drug users in Nigeria with
the knowledge of how to identify genuine drugs they have bought. This study examined public awareness and use of
the Mobile Authentication Service in identifying counterfeit drugs in Rivers State Nigeria. The study was anchored
on diffusion of innovation theory. It adopted the survey research method. A sample size of 384 was drawn from the
population. The study applied multi-stage sampling, simple random sampling and purposive sampling techniques.
Questionnaire and interview served as instruments for data collection. Data generated were analyzed using
qualitative and quantitative methods. The percentage and Likert scale mean value methods were adopted using the
mean score benchmark of 2.5. Findings revealed among others that inspite of the Rivers State residents' awareness
of the Mobile Authentication Service, majority of them do not know how the scheme works and majority do not also
apply it before taking their drugs. Based on the findings, the researchers recommended that the agency should redouble its efforts in creating public awareness on how the Mobile Authentication. Service works using the Mass
Media. The agency should also initiate programme(s) in the media specially designed to inform and educate Rivers
State residents on the danger of not applying the MAS scheme before taking their drugs.

When there happen critical events of social and political order in the democratic societies, the performance and the productivity of the mass media of masses suffer important changes. In addition, these are questioned respect of the social responsibility that has corresponded to them in the conflict, specifically as for its 'informative truth'. The events happened in the morning of March 11, 2004 in the trains of Madrid, left dead, thousands of injured and pain in the Spanish society. Los acontecimientos ocurridos en la mañana del 11 de Marzo de 2004 en los trenes de cercanías de Madrid, dejaron muertos, miles de heridos y dolor en la sociedad española. Durante esos tres días de crisis social y política la gestión desempeñada por los medios de comunicación social, en especial la prensa escrita, alcanzó un rol gravitante desde la perspectiva de su organización y producción informativa.

Abstract The mass media convey dominant values and attitudes through stories and myths that they circulate within a specific culture. As a narrative form, news coverage places events into social reality by retelling them within the framework of known stories or myths. Events acquire meanings and reactions by the ways in which these stories are told. In Israeli society, the Holocaust is a historical event that plays a prominent role in shaping national and cultural identity. An analysis of Israeli press coverage of terrorist attacks on Israel reveals that the Israeli press uses these events to convey the basic myth of the Holocaust and the revival of the Jewish state. Using Barthes' theories of narrative analysis, a composite story is constructed to illustrate the workings of this process. In this story the Jews, formerly helpless victims of Nazi aggression, are saved by Israeli soldiers as proof of the revival of the Jewish people in the state of Israel. The findings of the study suggest that the myth of the Holocaust may be used as a framework by the Israeli press in more serious emergency situations, such as war. At the same time, the study suggests that the analysis of news as narrative provides a means of understanding how terrorist events are reported by the press in other countries and in other media as well.(Mass Communication)

Audio-visual or film is one of the strategic means of intercultural communication. Films are often used as a medium of propaganda for partisan and partial political interests, leading to misunderstandings of a culture. The destruction of a nation's cultural meanings and values always involves audio-visual media to create psychological effects in building opinion and mobilizing the masses. Iran and its culture are the victims of world misunderstanding. However, the films directed by Iranian filmmakers have opened a 'cultural dialogue' with dignity and in an artistic manner. This study aimed to examine Iranian cultural communication patterns through cinema and identify Iranian cultural symbols that influence cultural communication. This research used Symbol and Value Theory. Symbols and values influence political and cultural campaigns. This research employed the Gestalt method that involved descriptive coding of sentences and images and recording of contents. Through Gestalt, we can interpret the meaning and behavior displayed by humans in certain situations. The films 'Children of Heaven', 'Color of Paradise,' and 'Baran' directed by Majid Majidi, communicate essential aspects of Iranian culture, showing the spirit of resilience of Iranian society today, which is rarely included in the news due to global politics. The representation of Iranian culture is presented in very natural and simple ways without using visual effects. The reproduction of Iranian culture in the three films above uses a measured, intense, and substantive approach and shooting angle. The spirit of Sufism was reflected in the production process and the Iranian cinematic contents.

SummaryComputational modelling of a biosensor in which chemical amplification by synergistic substrates takes place was investigated in this study. In the biosensors of this type, in addition to the substrate (analyte), another auxiliary substrate is used. It is necessary to achieve the substrates synergy. The operation of the biosensor is modelled using non-stationary reactiondiffusion equations. The model involves four regions: the enzyme layer where the enzymatic reactions as well as the mass transport by diffusion take place, the dialysis membrane and the diffusion limiting region where the mass transport by diffusion and non-enzymatic reactions take place, and the convective region in which the analyte concentration is maintained constant. The equation system is solved numerically using the finite difference technique. The biosensor response dependency on substrate concentrations and the diffusion layer thickness, as well as the biosensor sensitivity dependence on the same parameters have been studied."line-height: 18px;">

The article analyzes the content of the two leading fed-eral publications of the FRG - the conservative paper Die Welt and the centrist paper Die Zeit. The authors face the task to examine the dynamics of material presentation on the topic of migration from 2014 to 2019. In the course of a comprehensive analysis of the texts, the authors have achieved unpredicted research results: more and more materials criticizing the federal policy in the sphere of migration are published in the conservative paper; the centrist paper, on the contrary, begins to focus on biographical stories of refugees, their problems and the gaps in the federal migration legislation. ; В статье на материале немецких газет "Die Welt" и "Die Zeit" анализируется динамика подачи информации по миграционной тематике с 2014 по 2019 гг.

Across the globe, social media have become dominant channels of communication and news for many citizens. They also provide online spaces where misleading information can exacerbate social cleavages and political differences in societies, which can then lead to deleterious democratic outcomes. Therefore, much work has sought to understand the ways in which the effects of misinformation can be attenuated. This virtual theme collection highlights eight studies that examined the conditions in which individuals would actively verify information as well as the effectiveness of certain countermeasures designed to help individuals discern information veracity.

This study looks at political polarization from Italian political journalists' perspectives and investigates (a) how they conceive political polarization and (b) how they navigate it in their daily work. Empirical data shed light on a number of main factors shaping journalists' perceptions of political polarization, pinpointing the existence of "media polarization." The findings also revealed five ideal-typical strategies adopted to deal with a polarized environment: mitigating, aligning, nurturing, creating, and ignoring polarization. The reflections proposed throughout the article suggest new perspectives through which to analyze the topic, fostering a debate beyond the case study.
