Die Erbringung von Finanzdienstleistungen unterliegt sowohl finanzmarktspezifischem Regulierungsrecht als auch der Anwendung des Kartellrechts. Nach der herkömmlichen Konzeption der beiden Rechtsgebiete soll das Regulierungsrecht den Rahmen zur Verhinderung oder Beseitigung von strukturellem Marktversagen setzen, während das Kartellrecht als Antwort auf das Fehlverhalten individueller Marktteilnehmer dient. Dennoch beeinflussen die beiden Materien sich gegenseitig. Aus Überschneidungen im Anwendungsbereich im Einzelfall können Zielkonflikte resultieren. Gegenstand der Arbeit ist daher die Ermittlung und Bewertung dieser Interdependenzen zwischen Finanzmarktregulierung und Kartellrecht. Daran anschließend werden Vorschläge für eine klarere Aufgaben- und Kompetenzverteilung sowie verbesserte Kooperationsmechanismen zwischen Kartellbehörden und Gesetzgeber ermittelt und bewertet.
Mindestsicherungssysteme dienen in den meisten entwickelten Wohlfahrtsstaaten als Sicherheitsnetz letzter Instanz. Dementsprechend spielen sie gerade in wirtschaftlichen Krisenzeiten eine besondere Rolle. Inwieweit Mindestsicherungssysteme in Zeiten der Krise beansprucht werden, hängt auch von der Ausprägung vorgelagerter Sozialschutzsysteme ab. Diese Studie untersucht die Bedeutung von Systemen der Mindestsicherung sowie vorgelagerter Systeme wie Arbeitslosenversicherung, Kurzarbeit und arbeitsrechtlichem Bestandsschutz für die Krisenfestigkeit in Europa. Im Kontext der Finanzkrise von 2008/2009 und der Corona-Krise wird die Fähigkeit sozialpolitischer Maßnahmen untersucht, Armut und Einkommensverluste einzudämmen und gesellschaftliche Ausgrenzung zu vermeiden. Die Studie setzt dabei auf quantitative und qualitative Methoden, etwa multivariate Analysen, Mikrosimulationsmethoden sowie eingehende Fallstudien der Länder Dänemark, Frankreich, Irland, Polen und Spanien, die für unterschiedliche Typen von Wohlfahrtsstaaten stehen.

The concept of sustainability is increasingly losing its contours. This study reflects on the understanding of sustainability used in research and science. Its authors thus enable us to concisely determine not only concrete contributions to sustainability, but also its limits. Based on an analytical understanding of sustainability and the basic structure of practical dilemmas, the book identifies typical conflicts as causes of dilemmas. Meta-criteria of sustainability allow us to identify dilemmas and to clarify and deal with them practically at an early stage. Finally, the study applies these meta-criteria in concrete project contexts by means of guiding questions for reflection.

Launched in 1991, the Asian Yearbook of International Law is a major internationally-refereed yearbook dedicated to international legal issues as seen primarily from an Asian perspective. Classical and industrial archaeologies are a complex cultural field where singularity and uniqueness are expressed through past memory evidence and identity recognition. In order to obtain these values acknowledgement, it is compelling to highlight the material and intangible knowledge by using suitable ICT tools capable of handling complexity and managing large sets of heterogeneous data usually subjected to changes, different interpretations, inconsistencies and sometimes uncertainty. Although the HBIM method has been largely used in the past years, it shows significant limits when dealing with large and heterogeneous information requiring the introduction of advanced methods and tools. In this context, this study presents an approach to the architectural heritage and historical manufacturing activity representation based on integrating the HBIM process with a structured knowledge base, demonstrated through its application to the Sanctuary of Hercules and the former Segrè Papermill case study. The work develops an ontology-based system using existing ontologies for the three domains of interest: architectural artefact, cultural heritage and industrial processes directly connected with the informative model. The intent is to give an overall support system for the complex semantics formalization of these assets to aid the interpretation, intervention and valorization activities
